welcome to our firm Howard Kennedy has undergone a metamorphosis over the last two years encompassing two mergers and culminating in our move to stunning offices on the river at No.1 London Bridge. Whilst our size and location have changed our dedication to our clients and exemplary client service has not. We pride ourselves on our approachable but professional way of doing business and our ability to respond quickly to our clients’ needs. Our lawyers have a wide variety of knowledge about different sectors and coupled with their technical legal skills we offer sound business support not just legal advice in a vacuum. Our depth of knowledge is our strength and our range of services provides our clients with the choice to use us for some, or all, of their needs. We grow close personal relationships with our clients so that they are happy to use us for both personal and corporate needs. We have a long tradition of listening to our clients and constantly evaluate new methods of collaborative working and communication. Whilst we feel that nothing replaces a good old fashioned conversation, we communicate through a whole host of mediums, both online and offline, to suit the needs of the individual. We invite you to read through this brochure and see what we can offer you.

about us A client needs a law firm that is passionate about what they do as well as how they do it. At Howard Kennedy, we pride ourselves on our core values, both in terms of legal know-how and professional standards. Approachable A law firm is judged on what they do and how they do it. It is imperative that our advice is astute and reliable but also that our lawyers are approachable, accessible and accommodating. We encourage our lawyers to speak your language and develop long-standing relationships with clients to help them realise their long-term goals. We do this by being flexible, open-minded and pragmatic; we want you to value our lawyers as much as you value their advice.
Responsive We know that your legal issues are fluid and fluctuating predicaments. Solutions are not found in uninspired, ‘one size fits’ all advice but in pragmatic and progressive input from your lawyers. Our advice adapts to your evolving requirements, carefully considering the factors affecting them as well as the probable outcomes. We want you to have the confidence in our ability to understand your situations, priorities and interests and provide the appropriate team and bespoke solution.
Commercial You do not want legal advice in a vacuum it must be rooted in the context of your industry and methodology. Our firm has unique perspectives on the pressures and actualities of business matters. We are the only English law firm that can sponsor entry onto the UK capital markets and Howard Kennedy lawyers sit as nonexecutive directors on AIM-listed companies and as trustees of charities. We continually train our lawyers to place their advice firmly in the context of your world.
Excellent Value We feel that quality legal advice does not have to cost the earth. We don’t want clients to judge their law firms on what they cost but, instead, what value they can add. Legal advice can be transparent, appropriate and cost-effective, providing clients with much more than mere documents but long-term commercial successes.
Professional Our priority is providing the very best legal advice and if something is worth doing, it is worth doing properly. Our lawyers pride themselves on their professional standards. Our personalised solutions provide the very best provisions and protection for clients to the highest possible level. We will assist you in gaining the best outcomes for all your legal needs with quality advice, documentation and representation. 2
“To provide exceptional services we rely on transparency, clarity and collaboration, not only with our colleagues but also with our clients. We do not stand still. We seek continual improvement to ensure our clients get the best trained lawyers with the best market knowledge to give our clients a unique experience.” Ian Harvey, Chief Executive, Howard Kennedy
“Most successful entrepreneurs and institutions always remember where they are from. But their main priority is where they are going. They need a law firm that has a strong history but can also evolve with them; a firm that focuses on the future and how best to service clients’ personal and business needs in a dynamic world. The right legal solutions today are the foundations for the successes of tomorrow.” Craig Emden, Joint Managing Partner, Howard Kennedy
“Our firm’s vigorous and varied practice comes courtesy of our dynamic and diverse history. Through mergers, strategic hires and organic growth, we have built up a pedigree in a number of specialisms. This is our platform for the future. We aim to be trusted advisors for clients on their business and individual life-cycle events; to plan, to realise and to defend their personal and commercial interests for years to come.” Paul Millett, Joint Managing Partner, Howard Kennedy

corporate social responsibility Howard Kennedy is committed to corporate social responsibility, from providing internships to carrying out work pro-bono. We also take an active part in our local community with initiatives in our local area and beyond. We also focus on charitable giving. Every year our staff are invited to nominate a charity for the firm to sponsor for that financial year. The nominations are then put to an internal vote by all Howard Kennedy staff, the outcome of which determines the charity of the year. All efforts for that financial year then support that particular charity to ensure we can make a real difference.
Beating Bowel Cancer is the support and campaigning charity for everyone affected by bowel cancer. They provide vital practical and emotional help – on the phone, digitally and face to face. Beating Bowel Cancer campaign tirelessly to raise public awareness of bowel cancer and ensure Governments and health services provide the highest quality care and treatments. This year Howard Kennedy will be raising money to help fund the vital work that Beating Bowel Cancer does. www.beatingbowelcancer.org
For 2015-16 the charity elected is Beating Bowel Cancer.
