Awards Recognition In 2011, we recognized over 350 HPNA member individuals who volunteered their services as committee leaders and members, chapter leaders, teleconference presenters, authors, newsletter writers, reviewers, etc to do the work of HPNA. Our organization would not be as successful as we are without these individuals. We are so grateful for assistance received and urge others to offer their time, talents and energy. HPNA would like to recognize and thank every person who offers their assistance in any way, however this year we have 8 individuals that we would like to recognize for going ABOVE AND BEYOND in providing volunteer service to the mission of HPNA, and they are: Meg Campbell, Connie Dahlin, Linda Gorman, Debbie Monaghan, Pam Ortner, Sandy Chen Stokes, Sylvette Tiradocrespo and Christine Westphal. And now we would like to honor the recipients of the 2012 HPNA awards! The Friend of HPNA Award for 2012 is given to Dr. Donna Shalala for her role as chair of the Committee on the Future of Nursing Report at the Institute of Medicine of the National Academy of Sciences.
