Our Future HPNA Mission Statement: Leading the way to promote excellence in the provision of palliative nursing care through leadership development, education, and the support of research in the field. The future of HPNA is bright!! We planted the seeds of success in the early years and now through proper nurturing anticipate tremendous success in the future. Within the past five years we have seen the following changes: • Membership growth doubling our size • Financial health despite global economic challenges • Visibility beyond our local level • National presence with regulatory and legislative entities • Significant expansion of leadership development through the HPNF Palliative Care Leadership Institute • Strength in content and usage of educational products and services • Maturation of research agenda As we move forward with our voice being heard nationally at Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), National Quality Forum (NQF), Food and Drug Administration (FDA), in addition to many local and regional spheres of influence, we look forward to a transition of leadership and anticipate with excitement the many opportunities of collaboration and development yet to be explored. The future of HPNA is bright. Membership involvement is crucial as we move forward. Celebrate the past, enjoy the present and anticipate the future with us.
