Showjumping at the Olympics
TEXT: CHRISTIE WOLHUTER
The format for this year’s Olympic Games is different to the past in that the individual results will be determined before the team results and there are three, rather than four riders in each nation’s squad. This now means there is no longer a drop score, and each horse and rider’s score is important to the team result. It is going to make for exciting jumping! Unfortunately, this does mean numerous riders that would normally represent their country, including the newcomers, are sitting on the side lines as travelling reserves.
