New District Delegates: The Annual Meeting of the Members occurred on April 18, 2023. This election welcomed three new District Delegates and welcomed back 21 Delegates who will serve HRCA for two-year terms. We also said goodbye to six wonderful community volunteers who have served as District Delegates for years. We greatly admire the service District Delegates provide to the community. We still have several vacant districts that need a delegate if you are interested, the second election of the Delegates will commence on June 16. To find your current District Delegate or learn more about the process, visit our website at HRCAonline.org/about-us/leadership.

Scholarship: Established in 2003, the Highlands Ranch Community Scholarship Fund (CSF) is a 501(c)3 organization that provides post-secondary education scholarships in Highlands Ranch. Scholarships granted go to students who have demonstrated wellrounded participation in their school or community through volunteerism and service hours, as well as those in our Special Needs programs who need financial assistance to join specialized programming.

2023 celebrates the Fund's 20th year. This year we will grant twenty $2,500 scholarships, this brings the total to 402 scholarships, worth $651,100, that have been awarded to our community students.

CSF partnered with the Douglas County School District (DCSD) and school counselors for the first time to create a streamlined selection process that benefited all applicants. In addition to the information on the application, it was wonderful to work directly with the school district to learn more about the applicants. CSF looks forward to collaborating again next year and continuing this partnership well into the future.

Congratulations to the Highlands Ranch Community Scholarship Fund recipients for 2023! Please see the list of recipients on page three.

Eastridge Locker Rooms construction: Construction of the locker rooms at Eastridge began the week on May 8. The project is scheduled to last 16 weeks and will be a complete renovation of the locker and family changing rooms. The demolition phase is complete, and rebuilding of the space has begun. We are excited to share the updated areas with you later this summer. Thank you for your patience and understanding while we are under construction.

Hiring: HRCA is currently hiring for various part-time and full-time positions. Now is the perfect time to secure your year-round or summer job. Visit our website at HRCAonline.org to view all open positions. Join our team!

I look forward to spending the warm months ahead with you all, enjoying all the upcoming events we have come to know and love.

My Best,

Mike Bailey

LANDSCAPING, AND WATER CONSERVATION

As Summer is in full swing, we are reminded by the Colorado weather that we continue to be in a water crisis. The CIS Department would like to emphasize to homeowners that while we support the initiative of Centennial Water and Sanitation District to watch our water consumption while still maintaining our yards and landscaping. We are still urging homeowners to maintain their yards by:

• Removal of weeds throughout all flower beds, rocked areas, street borders, mulched areas, xeriscaping, and lawns.

• Remember to submit ALL exterior projects to the Architecture Review Committee.

• Maintain your trees and shrubs by removing dead branches and/or low overhanging branches from sidewalks, fences, and street borders.

The HRCA outdoor pools will opened May 26 - 29, 10:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. Memorial Day pools will close at 5:00 p.m. Visit HRCAonline.org/Pools for more details.

• Every year, Colorado is at risk of wildfires. Be proactive in removing dead trees. Proper removal is either complete removal or grinding a stump to ground level.

• In line with rebates and incentives offered by Centennial Water, artificial turf and xeriscaping is permitted with approval. Please submit your plans through our website and refer to the Residential Improvement Guidelines for specifications.

If you have questions regarding your home improvement projects, please call our office Monday - Friday from 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. at 303-471-8821. You can also reach us at covenant@hrcaonline.org.
