The HRCA Cotillion is a social education program is designed to provide a comprehensive learning experience over a five-year period. Educators, psychologists, and doctors agree that social skills and emotional health are incredibly important in a well-adjusted child’s development. Introduction to Cotillion (3rd Grade)

Come see what cotillion is all about! This age-appropriate class introduces 3rd graders and parents to the Cotillion program.

Curriculum highlights include:

• What are social skills, and why they are so important? • How to introduce themselves to peers and adults • Teamwork through basic social dance • The importance of respect and treating others with kindness

Club Cotillion (4th-5th Grade)

This engaging and innovative class offers students a foundation in the essential social skills that contribute to character, improved communication, and ultimately successful relationships. Social dance is used as an instrumental tool in breaking down inhibitions and helps promote positive interactions between genders as well as self-confidence. Dances include basic and intermediate patterns of foxtrot, waltz, and swing hustle, plus an introduction to cha cha, merengue, and bachata.

Social Skills Essentials (6th-8th Grade)

This middle school course is not only instrumental in developing positive relationships, defining character, and facing personal challenges, it will play a primary role in opening doors of opportunity in high school, college, and beyond. This class provides a three course sit-down dinner on Sunday, December 4 to enhance the etiquette education. Dances include basic through advanced patterns of fox trot, waltz, jitterbug, tango, and salsa.

COTILLION CHARITY DRIVE CUDDLE UP WITH KINDNESS The “Cuddle Up With Kindness” Campaign gives a present that is safe and appealing to all ages. A fleece blanket provides a source of comfort during a child’s hospital stay and long after discharge. Patients are allowed to pick the blanket of their choice. In order to meet the demands, Children’s Hospital needs about 200 blankets per week. Support the HRCA Charity Drive with a donation.
