User Responsive Urbanism dictates the idea of analyzing and understanding the pattern and trends that led people to act in a certain way in terms of preference of living, working, or any human activity done on a usual basis. This data can be translated into identifying strategies and designing cities that people envision to be. With urban sprawl increasing day by day, many land resources are abandoned and, with time, rendered useless. In the Indian scenario, the rural areas are in ruins for the people who moved to the city for a better lifestyle and comfort, leaving their homes behind. These built structures somehow were cultural and architectural legacies for those places themselves. The vulnerable sections stayed back for a while. However, the trend suggests them moving near the cities, if not in the city, for better opportunities and improving their living conditions. They are unaware that cities lack the infrastructure to cater to the newly moved crowd, causing preposterous living conditions in the form of slums and other informal settlements. This response causes chaos in the fabric of both the city and the rural setting, causing an ecological imbalance and loss of habitat. This raises the question of why even in the 21st century, people find a need to migrate to the city rather than staying put and improving the conditions of their context? What are the missing elements that are a part of human dependencies?
