Part 2

Repetition of overlapping and layering

Especially a rose has many overlapping of petals which create a unique pattern

I overlapped some leaves to create texture and layering which is a key part in my structure.

As nature is a very important part to my pavilion, I need to make sure I have further knowledge on how this helps my architecture

Here I started developing my structure on sketch-up so that I could plan out how I wanted my model to work. I started off with layering my individaul structures and make sure that they were all connected. I then went on to creating a basic organic shape for the base layer which i took from my experiments.

My finale physical model

This is my finale model for my Environmental hotel Architecture. I wanted to create a structure that was sustainable and eco friendly to the environment. I have done this by using materials that are safe and ones that can protect the ecosystem. The design off the repeating rectangular forms is a way to allow more sun to enter the building so it can use natural lighting, therefore protecting the environment

These photos more focus on the greenery that I have continuesly placed around the building to show that’s its eco- friendly and a green space. It is a way to reduce the climate impacts of buildings and their inhabitants.

I provided a green space around the structure so that the public can enjoy the fresh air and have a large space to relax. This is because too many fields of basic parks are being harmed due to the conditions around, therefore creating a hotel that uses natural resources and ones that are not harmful could bring a sense of sustainability that the public can enjoy.

Because I am creating a hotel, I wanted people to have as much space a possible, therefore I created balconies to their individual rooms to allow for the extra space. This is handy as my structure may involve a lot of people at times and they should not feel cramped.

My finale model

Here I added my sketch-up model onto my site and created an ecofriendly outside area. I added in a car park to represent the transportation method for many people which would be driving to my site, this is why I thought it was important to include this to my site.

Evaluation

I was inspired to produce my final model because of a variety of things that I had researched which then I further developed these ideas into my structure. In my research I realised that buildings are responsible for up to 50% of climate change, also effecting landfills, water and noise pollution. Therefore, if I was going to create a building, I wanted to make sure it was one that was not harmful to the environment, leading to my decision to create an environment/ sustainable architecture. To create a sustainable building, I needed to make sure I included a multiple of things. For example, creating a numerous amounts of large windows to allow the building to have natural sunlight which uses less energy and solar. I managed to complete this goal in my final model as the individual rooms have large circular windows, and the base layer that the rooms are sitting on, have large beams coming down with large gaps in between to allow more sunlight. The amount of greenery that I have added link towards the reduce of carbon footprint making it healthier for people to stay in.

Overall, I am very happy with how my design has turned out and I believe that I built my model well to successfully communicate my aim to create an eco- friendly structure.
