CURRICULUM VITAE
BANGALORE
ARCHITECTURAL THES FARMSCRAPER - RESIDENTIAL HIGH RISE TOWER WITH PRIVATE AND PUBLIC VERTICAL DENS JALLAHALI, BANGALORE
With the developing needs of the country and urbanization, the green belt as well as land for cultivation is depleting.
Shown above is the view of the farmscraper, a hypothetical project for architectural thesis
IS
GAR
The proposed project is situated in Jalahalli in North-East Bangalore and surrounded by defence establishments.
India is the most populous country in the world with an area of 3.287km2 and rank second in the agricultural output. It is in top five positions for about 80% of products produced from farms. Due to scarcity of land and increasing urbanization, either the land for cultivation will deplete or the developing needs of the country will suffer. The proposed project discuss the futuristic plan to find the solution to it.
The project will cover various modern ideas of vertical farming techniques such as hydroponics, aeroponics, aquaponics, aerofarms, and more.
FARMSCRAPER A farmscraper as its name suggests, is a skyscraper dedicated to farming. It is a self contained, residential tower with a combination of urban high rise technology and vertical greens.
It is a food producing skyscraper for the urban mass with a lot of press about vertical farming. The idea of cultivating plant life within open air for climate control and consumption.
The tower will have food producing vertical farms and sky gardens, on each floor of the building. The main objective of the design is to bring green space into an urban setting while retaining the city’s perchant for packing as much as possible into a tight space.

CONCEPT - NATURE IN MINIATURE Philosophy behind the design is to display and observe the floral cycle of nature in its miniature form that is in a building or group of buildings. The basic ideology is to bring nature back to architecture as well as reconnecting people with nature through architecture and design. Some of the main objectives are to observe and interact with nature to design solutions and apply self regulation.
To make the best use of nature’s abundance to reduce exploitation and observing patterns in nature and society to form the backbone of our designs. To integrate rather than segregate and the creative use of the diversity. To combine vegetation and its oxygenation benefits with building to counter pollution. To value and make use of all the resources that are available to us and avoid wastage.

LUCKNOW
URBAN REJUVENATION HERITAGE REINTERPRETATION AND CULTURAL REJUVENATION CENTRE WITH ENHANCEMENT OF MARTIN PURWA, LUCKNOW
The vacant land for design development and the undeveloped chunk for urban rejuvenation
Shown above is the view of craft village which is a part of the proposed cultural center
The area for development and design is surrounded by gomti river bank form east direction and is approached by lohia path in gomti nagar, Lucknow
The city of Lucknow once called ‘awadh’ is famous for its majestic architectural heritage. But, as the city is moving towards modernization,it is losing it’s particularities. The design takes into consideration those depleting particularities of Lucknow which once flourished then dwindled and ultimately vanished. Heritage reinterpretation center is designed as an urban open space with particular emphasis on cultural and historical community of the city. The components of the site are made to show the art and architecture of Lucknow.
Shown above are the famous buildings of Lucknow city depicting the art and architecture of the city.
The site in question is a vacant land of 88.4 acres near river gomti surrounded by Lamartiniere school from east and is approached by lohia path from west direction. Attached to the land in south west is an undeveloped chunk called Martin purwa. The land is provided for the caretakers and drivers of La martiniere.
Shown above are the existing conditions of martin purwa
The chunk is congested and unsettled. The existing conditions of martin purwa include waterlogged roads and walkways, no light poles leading to dark patches, clogged sewer lines, shortage of portable water and electrical supply, and maximum number of dump yards without any proper disposal.
FLEXIBLE AND ADAPTABLE
LESS BUILT MASS
REDUCING CARBON FOOTPRINT
The design functions to be sustainable, healthy, conserving, diverse and functions to be flexible and adaptable.
Less built mass and increased green spaces on site and use of immense plantation in clusters.
Reducing carbon footprint by restricting vehicular movement and encouraging pedestrian movement for less emissions.
The view above shows how the existing trees on site are retained by creating structures and sit outs around them.
MASTER PLAN OF HERITAGE REINTERPRETATION
AND CULTURAL REJUVENATION CENTRE, LUCKNOW
Above shown view shows the semi circular pattern of shops in an open craft village
Dastarkhan is a built mass of three halls to demonstrate the dining etiquettes of the olden days of Lucknow. The first hall serves the famous cuisines of awadh with mattresses and sheets spread on floor. An ornamental screen or ‘jali’ is used which is permanent feature of ismalic architecture and mediates the amount of sunlight and fresh air that enters the space.
A separate hall is provided for the diminishing musical concert known as ‘qawali’. The other hall is used for smoking ‘hukkas’. The museum serves as a design showing the historic elements of the city. Architectural features of the city are represented with the help of model charts and illuminated screens. It is designed to showcase the artwork of the city in every form.
Shown above is the section of the site showing different levels on site ground level of food court which is divided into three levels, the third chunk is at 7m level above the first chunk.

The view above shows the colonnade piazza, craft village, open air theatre, landscape labyrinth and the festival ground.
Craft village is developed in an organic pattern which is inspired by the Lucknow labyrinth also known as ‘bhool bhulaiya’. Tonga rides were the traditional mode of transport in city so tonga rides has been arranged on the pathway around the labyrinth in craft village. Colonnade piazza is created for the concert performances as well as various celebrations of festivals in Lucknow.
The existing conditions of martin purwa are kept in mind while developing the area. Services like water supply, electrical supply and proper drainage facilities are provided to the residents of the chunk and the cultural center provides employment as well. The famous work of Lucknow like ‘chikankaari’, ‘zardozi’, and terracotta are taught to the residents of martin purwa.
The above view shows the organic form of design which is characterized by it’s use of natural materials and smooth rounded forms.
Shown above are the sections of food court and open air theatre respectively defining the levels below and above ground level.
