Huger Embroidery: An Evolution So I am a 50 year old mom. Eight children. (ok, 5 of them are my husbands... all boys, though.. a little cred there...) Lots of artistic talent amongst them... When children are young they create and create. You know! Drawers full, bulletin boards, rope with artwork clothes pinned to them. Wonderful ways to display... I have been an interior decorator for 26+ years... but who’s counting??? A lot of art classes and an art major before that. Lots of creative juices and genes. Something new... This past summer my 18 year old daughter and I started an embroidery business. Ok. she needed summer job. Yep, I bought the machine. She learned the skill very quickly. Boom, we’re in business! Boom, boom! She loses interest. I don’t know.. something about her senior year. Come on mom, duh!!!??? Ok, Mom buys a bigger machine. Mom gets into it. She buys things to embroider. Remember, daughter is a senior?? Graduation presents, wedding presents, birthdays... Mom learns to digitize... Why? To make a special “G” for a client. But wait... someone recommends, can you do children's drawings and put them on clothing? Yes!? How about pillows, I add? Woman , along with many of my clients spend gobs of money on decorative pillows. Fabulous and beautiful fabrics...hand block, hand dyed, even beautifully embroidered patterns of flowers, animals and the like. Fillings of down pillow ... What about embroidered fabric with their very OWN children’s artwork on it??? Boom... A hit!!! Huger embroidery takes any age children’s artwork. Wee children to big boys and girls, even tweens and teens. Paintings, pastels, crayon, markers, pencil... It doesn't matter. We digitize the drawing and use creative patterns and colors to make a fabric for a pillow that can very closely resemble the actual child’s drawing OR we can take a little artistic license and alter the drawing to coordinate with a room. We can use a pastel color palette, clear and true or earthy colors... You can or not, give us a few hints about what and where you want the pillow to go and boom, we get it and produce it custom for you. Give us a shout. I cant wait to tell my daughter...She is off to college in August...
