PORTFOLIO Hugo Tell

Here is a collection of several works, projects and experiences since I entered the Paris Val de Seine school in 2015. Some of those presentations embed videos ou virtual tours wich you can access scanning the corresponding QR code.

Cemurmure Festival August 2015 - 2016

Organising Cemurmure Festival with the Raspatakouet crew. A music stage in front of an awsome view over Semur en Auxois. An exhibition and chill out space gathering digital art projections, children workshops and interactive spaces. I took part in the drawing and building of this reused wood structure before the festival. I also managed the cooking team to feed the artists during the festival itself. 1200 visitors in 2015 and 1500 in 2016.

Before the school

Various building works as free lance Flat renovation or industrial building, mainly as a painter or as a plasterer.

Perspectives September 2015

First semester at val de Seine Architecture School. Tool based perspective construction.

Cardboard table September 2015

1:1 useable table wich can be taken to pieces and easily carried. We had to use cardboard but without any glue. So I designed it into many parts interlocking together.

Waiting bubble DĂŠcember 2015

A waiting room to welcome Gare du Nord travelers in Paris. Dedicated to families, this bubble contain an upper area in front of the window to alow infants to play while enjoying the view over the hall. Placed this way, they stay under the watch of parents at every time.

Details February 2016

Exhibition facilities dedicated to Roman Opalka’s work called «detail». This art work is a growing sequence of numbers, so the gallery shape is a long tube enrolled over himself. It allows wheelchair users to enjoy the exhibition the same way as walking users.

Sensitive Montmartre May 2016

Sensitive cartography of Montmartre hill in Paris. A DanFranck novel and many photo surveys on site are used as parameters to generate a free forme. This shape is presented as an interactive sculpture connecting each parameter to its source by pressing switches.

Nine meshes September 2016

A parametric kiosk made of several arcs placed on 9 meshes net. I used Rhino and Grasshopper for the first time to model this shape. Then I used the shool’s FromLab 3D printers to realise models of several iterations in order to be able to compare many solutions, analyse results and improve the design steps after steps.

Applied gnomonique Décember 2016

A sun mask for the waiting line in front of the pyramid of the Musée du Louvre in Paris. The settlement connects the axe of the pyramid to the major axe of Paris, from La Défense to the Arc de Triomphe and then the Place de la Concorde, the Grande Roue, the Petit Arc, to finish at the Statue of Louis XIV. The louver design block the rays until 5:00 PM and let them hit the red mirrors between 5:00 to 6:00 PM. This way the structure generates a red halo wich announce the closing of the museum.

Simplexity January 2017

Urban furniture presented at the competition ÂŤFAIRE ParisÂť. We wanted to propose a complex free form, but simple to build to demonstrate that curved shapes are not always synonymous with expensive costs. Here we use steel tubes to do the structure and standard wood pieces to the envelope. The curved shape is only due to the different lengths of the wood pieces.

Ourcq Blanc November 2017

First floating FabLab on the canal de l’Ourcq. A projet I designed in its entirety to Juste Avant l’Aube agency. From the conception to the views, the videos and the 360° virtual tour. The previous project constructive principle is reused to create a mobile sun blocker, reminding the shapes of a manta ray. Opening planed on spring 2019.

3D printing May 2017

Competition model realised to MDAA Agency. The scale was too thin to realise the balconies by hand, but it was a very important detail for the architects. That’s why we worked together to 3D print this model.

Thank you for paying attention to my work. I hope to be able to discus it with you soon.
