Lynnelle Bogan August 9, 1999 in Wheatridge, Co., Lynnelle was born to Roy and Kathleen Bogan. After graduating from high school, Lynnelle plans to attend Colorado Christian University and major in Elementary Education to become an elementary school teacher. Her favorite book is “The Chance” by Karen Kingsbury. Lynnelle’s favorite song is “Without You” by Parachute, and her favorite type of music is country. Lynnelle loves to watch movies, but her absolute favorite is “Inception”. Throughout school, her favorite teachers were Mr. Hart and Mrs. Gallegos. Lynnelle would like to travel the world, because, as she says, “It's a big place and holds so many adventures!” Lynnelle admires her Grandma the most because she has a heart of gold, Lynnell’s never seen her get mad, and her cooking is amazing! Lynnelle most cherishes the wonderful friendships she made throughout high school. If she could change one aspect of her high school career, she would make the most out of every situation. Moving to Hugoton at the beginning of her sophomore year was what made the biggest impact on Lynnelle.

Jaqueline Armendariz

Zeida Betance June 4, 1998, Zeida Betance was born to Gerardo and Sandra Betance in Liberal. Zeida’s favorite book is “Reason to Breathe” by Rebecca Donovan. Her favorite song is “Adios Amor” by Christian Nodal, and she enjoys all kinds of music. Zeida also enjoys scary movies. Zeida claims she doesn’t have any one “favorite teacher” because she likes them all. Her favorite food is Sonic’s french fries and gravy. Next year, Zeida plans to attend Garden City Community College. In the future, she would love to travel around the world to learn about all the different cultures around the world, and to explore the Earth’s varying environments. One person she’s admired throughout her life is Martha Rubio because even though Martha has faced obstacles in her life, she always managed to push through and stay positive. One thing Zeida will remember most about high school is laughing every single day with her friends, whether at lunch, in the halls, or even sometimes in the classroom. Receiving her cell phone in October ranks high on Zeida’s list of events with an impact on her life. When asked what she would like to change about her high school career, she responded - if she could change anything she’d actually turn in her homework and get more sleep at nights.

Jaqueline Armendariz was brought into the world May 28, 1999, in Mexico City, Mexico, to the joy of Maria and Jose Armendariz. After completing her senior year at HHS, Jaqueline plans to attend Garden City Community College and study to become a pediatric nurse. Jaqueline’s favorite book is “The Shack” by William P. Young. Her favorite song is “Fall For You” by Secondhand Serenade, but she just can’t pick one favorite type of music - claiming to love them all! Her favorite movie is “Just Go With It”. Her favorite teacher is Jill Skinner. If Jaqueline could visit anywhere in the world she would visit Bora Bora to see the ocean. The people she admires most are her parents because they are always positive, supportive and hard working. She hopes to have their amazing qualities when she grows up. Favorite memories from school include attending prom her sophomore year, and all the bus rides with her teammates. If she could change anything from her high school career she would want to be less shy during her first two years of high school. A high school event with the greatest impact on her would be an accident resulting in the death of one of her friends and injuries to two other friends.

In the future Jose looks forward to a career in physiology. Jose’s favorite book is “The Lucky One” by Nicholas Sparks, and his favorite song is “Never Understand”. The spark to join the Marines may have been ignited after Jose saw his favorite movie “Jarhead” for the first time. Throughout school, Jose’s favorite teacher was Mr. Miller. When he is older, Jose would like to visit Ireland due to his fascination with “...the people and accent.” Memories Jose returns to most often about school include his friends and coaches. If he could change anything about his high school career, he would have played football his senior year of high school. The people he met each time he moved to towns or schools had the most impact on Jose during his high school career.

Lacey Brecheisen Lacey Jane Brecheisen was born March 13, 1999 in Liberal to Galen and Tracey Brecheisen. Lacey’s favorite song is “Fake Love” by Drake, and she loves all music. Her favorite movie is “Suicide Squad”, and her favorite teachers are Rod and Coach O. Isai Cabezas Isai Cabezas is the son of Arturo and Rosemarie Cabezas. He was born July 20, 1999 in Liberal. Next year, Isai plans to attend Johnson County Community College, and, after finishing two years there, he plans on transferring to the University of Kansas, and earn a spot in the Pre-Med program. Isai’s favorite song is “Broccoli (feat. Lil Yachty)” by D.R.A.M, but he listens to pretty much everything. If Isai had to choose one movie, his favorite would be “Hacksaw Ridge”. When asked about his favorite teacher, Isai said, “Sue Omo was my favorite teacher because she did so many activities with us. In the mornings she would have us run around the rocket and back into class to wake us up. She was just an overall great person”. Isai would like to visit Ireland because there’s so much stuff to see there and it’s green. The person Isai admires most is his mom because she is the most loving person he has ever met; she always does more than she needs to do, and even though she has had her tough patches in life, she always knows how to handle rough times. He said one part of school he remembers most is being late to class and trying to hurry, and in the process, he fell down the stairs. For that reason, he would have liked to change about how many times he was late. When asked what event in high school had the greatest impact on his life Isai stated, “It would probably have to be the death of one of my best friends. Montana’s death showed me that we don’t always have the time we think with the people we love. We can’t take that time for granted.”

Congratulations Graduates! Your future is awaiting you.

What Hannah remembers most about school is her friends and the cross country team. One of her favorite memories is winning State cross country her senior year. If she could change anything about her high school career, it would be to become more involved with other clubs and activities besides the sports she participated in. An event that made an impact on her life was attending two different high schools due to her father's job so she had to move for her senior year. She said it was a blessing in disguise at the time and she said she had to leave great friends but she also got the opportunity to rekindle some elementary friendships and make new relationships.

A place Aaron would like to visit would be Guadalajara, Mexico to see his favorite soccer team play. A person that Aaron admires is, “Kendrick Lamar because he believes he gives people hope.” When looking back at high school, he would remember being at school “at the lunch table with his bros”. If he had to change anything, it would be not to wait on things. One of the greatest impacts that happened in high school would have been “meeting new friends”.

Brooklynn Anna Trotter October 8, 1998, in Guymon, Ok., Steven Trotter and Shauna Nix gave birth to Brooklynn Anna Trotter. Anna is a senior who plans to attend Garden City Community College with plans to become a pediatric oncologist. Anna’s favorite book is the “Harry Potter” series by J.K. Rowling. Her favorite song is “From the Ground Up” by Dant Shay. Her favorite movie is “Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron”. Her favorite teacher is Mrs. Sosa. Anna would like to visit Hawaii, because she thinks it’s so beautiful. Anna admires her parents the most, because they are Anna’s greatest motivators. The stuff she most remembers from high school is meeting her best friends, starting her dream job, and all the good memories. One thing Anna would like to change from her high school career would be not going to State from an injury sophomore year. The greatest impact on her life would have to be her father coming back into her life.

It’s YOUR day, Graduate! Try these tips for wearing your graduation ensemble correctly The traditional garb worn for high school graduation is a wardrobe style created several centuries ago. Therefore, the style of the graduation gown and accessories may not be something students are accustomed to wearing today. Most students can expect to wear the graduation gown, a cap and a tassel. Graduation gowns are generally similar in style. A gown will come down to the knee or below. It may be worn open as sort of a draped piece, or there may be fasteners or a zipper so that the gown is closed in the front. The sleeves may be bell-shaped or

pointed, depending on the school. Oftentimes, the gown coordinates with the school colors, and students should expect to wear the primary color associated with the school when they graduate. This way they can plan their underclothes accordingly. Because graduation gowns tend to be bright in color, often vivid blues, reds and greens, it is adviseable to wear neutral colored dresses, skirts, slacks and shirts underneath. Both male and female students may want to consider a collared shirt under the gown for a crisp and professional look. The cap, also known as a mortar board,

is a hat with a flat, square top. The color of the cap may tie into the color of the gown, or it could be a complementary school color. Sometimes it is a neutral black. The cap should be worn so that the board is parallel to the shoulders. It should not be tipped or worn on the back of the head. Hairstyles may have to be adjusted so the cap is placed correctly. It should also be placed so one of the points is directly in front. If looked at from above, the cap would form a diamond shape. A button should be at the top of the cap where the tassel is attached. The tassel is

looped around the button and, in most instances, worn to one side of the face. Most schools require the tassel be on the right side of the face. Once students receive their diplomas and have been declared graduates, it is customary to move the tassel over to the left side of the face. Here it will remain until the cap is removed after the ceremony. Although graduation clothing may seem out of place in this day and age, the formality and custom of donning a cap and gown is something that further emphasizes the importance and tradition of the ceremony.
