THE EGRET ART CENTER SITE LOCATED IN THE SCENIC EGRET PARK, PROVIDE A GOOD ENVIRONMENT AND COMFORTABLE EXPERIENCE FOR THE ACTORS AND THE AUDIENCES. THE DESIGN INSPIRED FROM THE “EGRET” WINGS FORM, THROUGH THE DYNAMIC EXPRESSION OF EGRETS BEAUTIFUL FLY LINE, AND ECHOES THE EGRET STATUE ALONG THE LANDSCAPE AXIS. VISITORS COULD SITTING INSIDE THE OPERA HOUSE WATCHING THE EGRET PERFORMANCE OUTSIDE, THE ARCHITECTURE AND LANDSCAPE PERMEATED INTO A INTEGRATED WHOLE.

MAKING & EXHIBITION

FABRICATION SPACE DESIGN

THE PROJECT IS LOCATED IN A PARK IN SEATTLE, FACING TO A LAKE AND THE SEATTLE CITY. THE EAST EDGE OF THE SITE IS SURROUNDED BY WATER, WHICH PROVIDES A SCENIC VIEW TO THE SITE. THE BASIC IDEA IS ABOUT INSERT AND MOVEMENT. THE FABRICATION, AS THE MAIN SPACE, NEEDS CLOSELY CONNECTION WITH OTHER TWO PARTS, STIDIO AND EXHIBITION. TWO VOLUME INSERT INTO THE BIG ARCHY SPACE, SO THAT THEY CAN BE SEPARATED PARTS BUT CONNECTED TO EACH OTHER. FOR THE EXHIBITION, I WANT TO PROVIDE MORE POSSIBILITIES TO VISITORS TO WALK AROUND THE SPACE, AND TO INTERACT OR PARTICIPATE IN EACH LINK OF PRODUCT DESIGN, PRODUCTION AND USE.

SITE ANALYSIS Two axis are emphasized. One points to Seattle City, another one towards the water.

PLACE-MAKING

DEVERSITY COMMUNITIES IN MEXICO VILLAGE

20

THE SAN MARTÍN DE LAS CAÑAS AREA IS MOUNTAINOUS, AND THE VILLAGE IS ALMOST ON THE TOP OF A MOUNTAIN.THE SITE IS IN THE CENTER OF THE VILLAGE, INCLUDING AN OLD PLAZA AND A TINY HILL, AND SURROUNDING BY LOCAL HOUSES, WHICH LIMIT THE BOUNDARY OF PLACE. HOWEVER, THIS BOUNDARY COULD BE A BRIDGE TO CONNECT REGIONALISM, INSTEAD OF A WALL OF ISOLATION. I HOPE THE ARCHITECTURE AND NEW PLAZA I DESIGNED COULD PROVIDE RESIDENTS A PUBLIC SPACE AND MORE OPPORTUNITIES TO CONNECT TO EACH OTHER. INFLUENCED BY LOCAL ARCHITECT LUIS BARRAGAN AND CONSIDERING MEXICO CULTURE, HISTORY AND CLIMATES, THE PROJECT IS TOWARDS TO BE A VERNACULAR BUILDING IN THIS VILLAGE.

SITE ANALYSIS

Building Vollumn with Plaza

Design Concpet

A natural puddle of water is in the middle of the plaza, which caused that residents could not go through the plaza directly, but have to walk round to avoid that puddle. Combining the idea from “casco”, I choose to use the topography of the site to collect water and draw water into a pool, so that the plaza can be a clear public space and the pool can be another view of the plaza. DECENTRALIZED SPATIAL RESEARCH ON THE COMPULSORY EDUCATION MODE

UNDER THE GUIDENCE OF “INTERNET + “ 24

IN CHINA, SCHOOL DISTRICT HOUSING EMERGED IN THE MODERN EDUCATION SYSTEM, ESPECIALLY IN OLD COMMUNITY. APART FROM POLICY ISSUE, THE MAJOR REASON IS THE LIMITATION OF EDUCATION RESOURCES. CONSIDER ABOUT THIS PHENOMENON, WE COULD CREATE FRIENDLY COMMUNITY PRIMARY SCHOOL FOR THE YOUNGER STUDENTS IN CONTEMPORARY DIGITAL TIME. THIS TYPE OF SCHOOL NEAR TO THEIR HOME AND DISTRIBUTED EQUALLY IN EACH DISTRICT AND PROVIDE EQUAL EDUCATION RESOURCES. WITH THE PUBLIC PARTICIPATION, THIS NEW MODEL COULD TAKE FULL USE OF DIGITAL INFORMATION TIME ADVANTAGE AND CURRENT EMPTY CORNER SPACE.
