Amid all the upheaval the world has seen in recent times, opportunities were found in the most challenging of times. What stood out for us at Human Resources Online (HRO) is that the HR profession was presented with the opportunity to become a vital enabler of an organisation’s ability to thrive in an ever-evolving world.
Staying true to its value of sustainable progress through people strategies, HR is now able to hold its decisions accountable to real business results through outcome-driven metrics.
As HR continues to strive for a better future for the business and its workforce, we salute the HR solution providers who solve real business needs for Asia’s HR decision makers. We are heartened to bring back the HR Vendors of the Year research for its 17th edition, where vendors were ranked based on a twotier selection process, including robust assessments by HR practitioners.
The HR Vendors of the Year represents a long-running annual ranking that recognises and celebrates the very best HR solution providers in Asia. Our judging criteria has remained stringent throughout so the listings truly represent what the industry considers genuinely useful, innovative, and value for their investment.
BRAND NEW CATEGORIES
This year, we have 31 award categories, carefully designed to identify the vendors that have delivered excellence in growing their business by serving the HR community. What’s special about this year is the introduction of two new categories: Leader of the Year to honour company heads who guided and inspired their organisations through truly unprecedented times during the pandemic; and Local Hero, for local independents and start-ups founded in Singapore.
A ROBUST ASSESSMENT PROCESS
Keeping in mind the range of categories finalised this year, we continued to keep our vendor judging process truly robust and effective. The HR Vendors of the Year 2022 awards were based on a two-tier selection process. For the first step, HRO conducted an online survey to gather a list of category front runners. Each of these contenders then provided us with a submission form, detailing their prowess in terms of the 4Ps – performance, product, people, and perspective.
For the next step, an esteemed jury of 18 senior regional heads of HR judged and scored the finalists’ profiles, based on the holistic judging criteria. These criteria included key facts, milestones, achievements, challenges, and solutions, to help the judges score each entry based on facts, figures, and experience.
The industry practitioners on the jury brought valuable experience and depth to the process, and represented some of the most respected employers in Asia.
After the rounds of judging, scores obtained from the judges led us to identifying gold, silver, and bronze winners across a majority of the categories, along with a list of finalists.
The hugely coveted trophies to be taken home were handed out at a gala dinner held across the markets represented by the awards.
