WORDS FROM
HoW
The Humans of Western team is beyond thrilled to present to you our very first fashion lookbook! As a part of our mission to share stories and to reconnect with our community, we believe fashion, and how we carry
ourselves
can
emanate
our
personalities
and
who
we
are
as
unique individuals.
More often than not, we don’t wear our best outfits to our 8:30 AM lectures,
and we certainly don’t need to dress to the nines to spend
hours at Weldon. So, as a way to capture the humans of Western at their very best, we are launching the Fashion of Western–Sustainability Edition (partnered with SSVP).
As the main goal of this lookbook is to encourage confidence and selfexpression, all of the outfits featured were curated by the models. We would like to thank all the models for participating in this project and we
hope
it
inspires
our
readers
to
always
be
unapologetically
fashionable.
With love, HoW team
“I want everyone to wear what they want and mix it in their own way. That, to me, is what is modern.”

The thrift store has generously provided multiple clothing articles to encourage

clothes from a more sustainable source. Our models were creative in using these pieces to express themselves and enhance their outfits. The clothes from SSVP Thrift are showcased throughout the lookbook and can be identified by the organization’s logo:

When asked about their clothing choices, participants stated that their preference for thrifting stems from the fact that it’s a fun, affordable option

students.
