Bright Daysand Cozy Nights
AS THE CALENDAR PAGES TURN, THERE’S PLENTY TO LOOK FORWARD TO IN Colorado. Fall and winter are some of our favorite seasons at The Broadmoor. The crisp mountain air adds a spring to your step during a brisk morning walk around the lake, while bluebird skies and abundant sunshine add extra enjoyment to an invigorating hike, a round of golf, a pickleball match, or any outdoor pursuit.
As the sun dips behind Cheyenne Mountain, gather around The Hotel Bar's large outdoor fireplace, the fireplace at Bar del Lago, or find a cozy corner to sip a drink and enjoy the show. The Broadmoor’s many lounges and restaurants come alive after dark, filled with guests and groups enjoying each other’s company over fine food and drink. Beginning after Thanksgiving, a magical display of a million white lights transform The Broadmoor's grounds into a holiday wonderland. The resort’s luxurious bedding and accommodations await you when you’re ready to retire. Rest easy knowing that the next day offers more of the same.

All Aboard for Fun
WHETHER IT’S YOUR FIRST TIME RIDING THE BROADMOOR MANITOU and Pikes Peak Cog Railway or a repeat visit with family and friends, a new experience awaits each time guests board this historic railway. Departing from Manitou Springs, the train winds through boulder-strewn canyons and forests of pine and aspen on its journey to the summit of Pikes Peak.
During the fall and winter months, views from the summit are often extra-crisp and far-ranging. Explore the newly built Pikes Peak Summit House Complex, where hot cocoa and world-famous summit doughnuts are available for purchase, then board the train for the return trip to the station.
New tracks, a combination of new and refurbished trains, advanced technology, a completely renovated depot, and the City of Colorado Springs' new Pikes Peak Summit House Complex are among the numerous embellishments resulting from a recently completed $100-million-plus renovation.
Good to Know
The Broadmoor Manitou and Pikes Peak Cog Railway departs from Manitou Depot, weather permitting, year-round. The round trip is about three hours—one hour and 10 minutes up, forty minutes at the summit, and one hour and 10 minutes back down to the depot. Arriving at least 30 minutes before your scheduled departure is recommended, as are advance reservations.
Great train ride to the top! Our family thoroughly enjoyed the train, our conductor, and the views from the top.”
