PARENTS’ GUIDE

Volunteering and Giving Opportunities at Hun

The Parents’ Association sponsors countless events throughout the year, and the best way to be in the know for both parent and school wide events is to follow the step-by-step directions below and subscribe to Hun’s school calendar.

Hello!

WELCOME TO HUN

We are excited to see you on campus! Whether you are a new or returning family, we look forward to welcoming you, and hope you will become actively involved in our community.

Here at Hun, our community helps us thrive and we encourage you to participate in the variety of programs and events offered throughout the school year. In addition to attending events, there are also many ways to volunteer and give back to the School, and the following pages show just a few of the ways you can make an impact. Volunteering is a rewarding experience that provides opportunities for you to enjoy new relationships while supporting the School in a meaningful way.

The Advancement team is deeply committed to strengthening and supporting the entire School community. You’ll see us around campus and at events as we aim to connect all Hun families through thoughtful engagement and volunteer opportunities. Please stop by Mason House to say hello, we are always here as a resource as you navigate your time at Hun!

Wishing you and your family a wonderful school year.

A WELCOME FROM HUN'S PA CHAIR

“I started volunteering when my daughter began middle school, six years ago. I wanted to have a presence at the School so that I could get to know her friends and teachers. Sharing my time with this community has been very rewarding for me. I am happy to continue to give back as my younger sons continue their education, as I feel there is no better way to show my gratitude for all that Hun has done and continues to do for my children.”

Meghan Hayes Riley '23, Will '27, and Jack '29 Chair, Parents’ Association

PHILANTHROPY

MATTERS!

Philanthropic gifts to Hun provide roughly 8.6% of the School's operating revenue, playing a vital role in our daily operations and long-term financial stability. From annual giving to the Hun Fund to capital and endowment support, our donors help ensure that key initiatives like financial aid, academic and extracurricular programs, experiential learning, arts, faculty professional development, athletics, and campus improvements, are both sustained and evolving. Philanthropy is our engine of opportunity, providing the edge that makes a Hun education a one-of-a-kind experience.

 PHILANTHROPIC SUPPORT

HOW YOUR GIFT MAKES A DIFFERENCE

GIVE TO IMPACT

Hun Fund The School’s highest priority as it touches all areas of the School — its operating budget, programs, people, and grounds — and is put to immediate use, ensuring a one-of-a-kind Hun experience.

The Endowment Provides a permanent source of income for the school and helps sustain and grow all programs and resources.

Capital Projects Transform and improve the physical campus — buildings, classrooms, fields, and so much more.

Tuition & Fees

Planned Giving Deferred gifts made through your estate plans are a wonderful way to honor your connection to Hun and create a lasting legacy.

DID YOU KNOW?

Tuition only covers a portion of the Hun experience. Each student, regardless of full pay or financial aid, receives a $5,700 subsidy to cover what tuition does not.

PA Gala and Auction

Proceeds benefit the Hun Fund — Parents Fund, which supports initiatives such as faculty grants, prom transportation, community events, Family Weekend activities, and more.

CAN WE COUNT ON YOU?

How much does Hun expect me to donate annually?

Gifts of all sizes directly impact our students’ current school year. We ask that every family participate and make a gift that is meaningful according to their means.
