Hunter Atkins has written for The New York Times, Rolling Stone, and Forbes, as well as The Wall Street Journal, ESPN The Magazine, SI.com, National Geographic, Maxim.com, Newsday, Virginia Coastal, Men's Journal, Popular Science, VICE.com, and VIBE. Hunter Atkins got his first break as a reporter for The Chicago Sun-Times when he was 17 years old. Hunter Atkins attended the Medill School of Journalism at Northwestern University. Hunter Atkins interned for Newsday in New York after reporting for The Cape Times in Cape Town, South Africa. Hunter Atkins graduated from college in 2011 and, unable to find work, fled to Europe to run with the bulls in Pamplona. Hunter Atkins wrote about his terrifying experience after narrowly avoiding certain death in a near-ramming and impressed then-New York Times sports editor Joe Sexton. He gave me a small chance, then a big one. I took off running. Hunter Atkins was born in New York City. He fled to Brooklyn. Hunter Atkins is happily reporting from Houston.
