HOUSTON SAFARI CLUB
Our mission: To protect the rights of hunters and the hunting heritage through advocacy, policy and legislation. Houston Safari Club (HSC) is a 501(c)(4) nonprofit organization dedicated to legislative and policy initiatives that may affect the future of hunting. HSC supports initiatives that protect the tradition of hunting and hunters’ rights. We take an active role in efforts to effect policy, protocols and legislation. HSC collaborates with legislators, key opinion leaders, policy groups, professional organizations and governments at home and abroad. We are very actively involved with state, federal and international policy and legislation concerning wildlife and habitat.
Live Auction Rules
• When bidding from the floor, raise your hand high or bid paddle and, if necessary, stand to get the attention of the auctioneer or one of his spotters.
• The auctioneer and his staff are responsible for the auction. Their rules must be followed explicitly. All decisions of the auctioneer will be final. The auctioneer and staff will decide on any disputes regarding the bids during the live auction.
• Asking questions ahead of time is encouraged. speak with the donor, visit their booth (if they are an exhibitor) and check their references. HSCF supports and promotes hunts and trips from donors who are members in good standing with their local and national hunting associations.
• Some items, as components of donated hunts, may or may not be included unless specified. This may pertain to travel expenses to and from the destination; hotel and meals before and after the hunt; alcoholic beverages; trophy dipping, packaging, and shipping; gratuities and other items. Please review the details for each auction item.
• Most hunt donations, unless otherwise specified, are for the 2023 season. All trips, unless otherwise specified, expire on January 31, 2023. Special arrangements other than as set forth in the auction description are expressly between the donor and the auction winner.
• Some non-hunt donations may require delivery and installation at your expense.
• It is the bidder’s responsibility to read the HSCF Disclaimer of Liability for Goods & Services. By bidding on any auction item, whether in person or online, the bidder agrees that they have read, understand, and agree to the HSCF Disclaimer of Liability.
Payment Terms
• Method of Payment: Cash, Check, or Credit Card (MasterCard, Visa, American Express, or Discover)
• All hunts must be paid in full prior to being taken. All merchandise must be paid in full prior to taking possession.
• Any firearms that may be included in auctions or contests are subject to all state and federal laws. Transactions for these items will be managed by an approved FFL provider. The FFL provider information will be provided to the winning bidder for completion of transfer. Winners are responsible for all costs of shipping and FFL transfer fees.
Taxes and Withholdings
• (RAFFLE ONLY) For all non-cash prizes, valued at $5,000.00 USD or greater, the winner must remit 24% of the Fair Market Value (FMV) of the prize, less the wager amount, to Houston Safari Club Foundation (HSCF) or Houston Safari Club (HSC) (dependent upon the designated organization for which an item is being auctioned) for tax withholding and shall indemnify and hold harmless HSCF and/or HSC against all claims relating to such taxes and expenses.
• HSCF and/or HSC will provide a receipt for the value of the goods and services received for the purchase of auction items.

Raffle
You must be a minimum of 18 years of age to purchase a raffle ticket or win a prize. All winners will be announced at the conclusion of the event and will also be notified by phone and/or email. Winners are expected to take possession of all items at the conclusion of the event, except for firearms. Prize(s) not claimed within 90 days of notification will be returned to the control of HSCF, excluding firearms. All firearms are subject to all state and federal laws. Transactions for these items will be handled by an approved FFL provider. FFL provider information will be provided to the winning bidder for completion of transfer. Winners are responsible for all costs of shipping and FFL transfer fees. If a winner is unable to pass a BATFE background check, the firearm will be forfeited, and a new winner will be randomly drawn. Firearm prizes are non-transferable. Nebraska Deer And Turkey Conservation Tags For One Mule or White-Tailed Deer and 2 Turkeys
HSCF presents a unique opportunity in partnership with the Nebraska Game and Parks Commission for a combination Nebraska deer and turkey permit! This is one permit open to residents and non-residents, which allows the take of one deer (mule deer or whitetail) and two turkeys. Nebraska offers three subspecies of wild turkey, including the Merriam’s, Rio-Grande, and the Eastern. The Combination Permit is valid until filled* during hunting seasons beginning in the year of issuance (2025) and seasons beginning in the subsequent calendar year (2026). The two-year permit is good statewide and is valid until filled for both season years of 2025 and 2026. The permit is also season choice which means it can be used during any open season with weapons valid for that season. The following provisions apply: Deer - One deer of either sex, in total, may be taken statewide during any open deer season provided weapons legal for that season are used. Turkey - Two turkeys, in total, may be taken statewide during any open turkey season provided weapons legal for that season are used. Only toms and bearded hens may be taken in the spring season. *This permit is only valid in areas open to hunting for the described species and only one deer and two turkeys can be taken in total using this permit, regardless of whether taken in 2025 or 2026.
