MOS Program Options Do you follow global market trends and read the business news? Whether you enjoy crunching numbers or contemplating economic theories, combining solid business training with social sciences equips you for any number of careers and provides you with the valuable skills most sought after in the workplace.
Students enrolled in MOS will complete a foundational first-year of study that includes Business, Economics, and Mathematics prior to choosing the specific MOS module they wish to pursue. Honors Specialization and Specialization in Organizational Studies, Policy, and Ethics: Unique to Huron, these programs combine a study of the basic management disciplines with study of the broader contexts for contemporary professional practices in the fields of law, politics, governance and ethics. Honors Specialization and Specialization in Finance and Administration: For students interested in a career
in the financial sector. Study markets, trade and financial decision-making, with an emphasis on the economic principles driving them.
Honors Specialization and Specialization in Accounting: For students who plan a career in an accounting field after completing the Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation. The programs deliver many of the tax, audit and business law courses prescribed by the Canadian accounting body. Major in Accounting: For students who want to lay the groundwork for future accountancy studies yet pursue another
subject interest. Must be combined with a second non-MOS Major in an Honors degree.
Major in Management and Organizational Studies: For students who want to achieve competency in the basic
management disciplines and pursue another area of study in the arts or social sciences. Must be combined with a second non-MOS Major in an Honors degree.
MOS MODULES Management and Organizational Studies (MOS) at Huron offers you a variety of courses to pursue in the areas of accounting, economics, business administration, management, organizational studies, policy and ethics. The BMOS degree provides a stepping-stone to post-graduate professional designations, such as CPA and CFA, and good preparation for a wide variety of business careers.

COMMUNITY-BASED LEARNING (CBL) OPPORTUNITIES IN MOS Hone your business, marketing and communication skills by learning and working in a dynamic business environment. Huron offers MOS students unique opportunities to apply theoretical knowledge acquired in the classroom to practical, real-world settings through exciting internship and placement programs, such as our BMOS Internship Program.
THE BMOS INTERNSHIP PROGRAM All students enrolled in the third year of a MOS module are eligible to apply to the BMOS Internship Program, which includes a series of preparatory sessions, an 8- to 16-month internship in a relevant employment setting and a postinternship component. Interns have been placed with IBM, Celestica, Petro-Canada, Canada Revenue Agency and Purolator, among others, and have held a variety of positions, including purchasing and buyer support, plans and control analyst, sales specialist, financial analyst, bilingual marketing and customer service coordinator, campus programs and events coordinator, accountant, and human resources coordinator.
RESEARCH OPPORTUNITIES The hallmark of a Huron education is access to authentic research opportunities normally only possible at the graduate level on other campuses. As a Huron student you will be able to conduct independent research with the mentorship of faculty members and participate in active learning opportunities as an integrated part of your course work. Huron’s professors are renowned scholars whose research informs all our programs of study and creates course offerings that are unique to Huron. They are also dedicated teachers, keen to ensure that their students succeed at Huron and in life.
EXCHANGE OPPORTUNITIES Huron has over 20 formal exchange agreements with universities around the world. That’s in addition to all of the resources and agreements provided through Western’s main campus International and Exchange Student Office. Study in Austria, Belgium, Belize, China, France, Japan, South Korea, Malta, Mexico, Norway, Singapore, Sweden, Tanzania, Turkey or the UK. Include a term/semester or a full year of study abroad while at Huron and you will return with a new perspective on the world, as well as valuable language skills, critical thinking and problemsolving skills, a great education and memories that will last a lifetime.
