First hop lemonade from Pete’s Natural
MOTUEKA-BASED NATURAL beverage company Pete’s Natural has released a limited edition hop lemonade to mark the annual hop harvest.
Each bottle of Pete’s Natural Limited Edition Hop Lemonade contains a fresh hop cone sourced from a hop farm in nearby Tapawera in the Tasman District. Each of the 5,500 bottles made is individually numbered.
Pete’s Natural co-founder, Marleen Suy, says the drink is a natural progression in their range. “Mr Pete (Pete Suy) has been helping with the drying of the hops during the hop harvest at Hinetai Hops for about ten years, so including this beautiful and distinctive ingredient for which the Nelson-Tasman region is famous is a natural next step.”
Pete’s Natural Limited Edition Hop Lemonade contains lightly sparkling water, organic fair trade raw sugar, freshly squeezed lemon juice from New Zealand-grown lemons, hops, and a fresh hop cone.
The Suys will also donate 10% of the sales of the new release to the Help for Hospo fund, which supports struggling hospitality businesses.
Pete’s Natural Limited Edition Hop Lemonade 300ml is RRP $5 or 12-pack RRP $49.

The Apple Press goes big with Pink Lady
HAWKE’S BAY beverage company The Apple Press has launched its popular Pink Lady® apple juice in an 800ml pack size.
The Apple Press bottles each apple variety individually to retain their distinctive taste characteristics – its range includes JAZZ, Royal Gala, Envy, and for a limited time only each year the popular Granny Smith. Pink Lady has been a limited addition to the range and previously available only in 350ml.
Ross Beaton, Co-Founder of The Apple Press says consumers have been asking for Pink Lady in a larger size for some time. “People love being able to select and enjoy their favourite apples pressed into a juice and Pink Lady is a very popular apple. The first trees to blossom and the last to be harvested, Pink Lady apples spend extra long hours in the sun, developing their uniquely refreshing taste.”
