TrioBrake™ chain brake system. A third way to activate the chain brake.

Effective vibration damping. Less tiring to work with.

Ergonomics.

AutoTune™ gives optimal engine performance throughout automatic engine adjustment. It compensates for different fuels, altitude, humidity, temperature and clogged air filter. Air Injection™ removes larger dust and debris particles before reaching the air filter to improve engine life.

Over the years our engines have become easier to start. Smart Start enables the machines to start quickly with minimum effort. Our engines have high power output even under heavy load and lower rpms. And the power to weight ratio has increased, providing higher cutting capacity.

Excellent ergonomics and power-to-weight ratio makes for easier handling. The Husqvarna Low Vib absorbs vibrations. The angled front handle, the distance between the handles and the slim saw body plus low weight, high centre of gravity makes our saws easy and less tiring to work with.

Features shown are available on applicable models.

THE BEST PERFORMANCE FOR YOU

Latest ergonomics. Easier manoeuvrability.

Smart Start. Starts quickly with minimum effort.

Durability.

Environment.

The Husqvarna three-piece crankshaft, forged in two halves then connected with the crankpin, is designed to provide extreme durability and long service life. The crankcase on our professional saws are made in magnesium and allround and consumer saws in composite material with metal inserts.

The chain brake helps stop the chain in the event of a kickback. The brake is usually triggered by the inertia forces and by the left hand. For extra protection we have developed the TrioBrake™ system that also can be triggered by the right hand.

Fuel-efficient engines with significantly lower emissions. With the X-Torq engine technology, fuel consumption is reduced by up to 20 % and emissions by up to 75 % while increasing power. Biodegradable vegetable based chain oil is also available.

TOP QUESTIONS BEFORE BUYING

Here are some frequently asked questions when buying a chainsaw.

Why should I choose a Husqvarna chainsaw? There are two main reasons: Quality and service. Husqvarna has manufactured chainsaws for commercial use since 1959 and is one of the world’s leading chainsaw manufacturers. Obviously this also benefits you when you buy a chainsaw for use around the home. Our products are sold only at qualified dealers by knowledgeable staff, who can help you select the right machine.

How do I learn to use a chainsaw properly? The fundamentals of cutting techniques, safety and maintenance can be studied in the manual of your Husqvarna chainsaw and in various instruction books or films, like the ones offered by Husqvarna. Practical competence requires practice, and you might consider taking a course.

I have heard about TrioBrake™. What is that? TrioBrake™ is a unique system developed by Husqvarna to increase the safety of our chainsaws. With TrioBrake™, in e.g. the event of a kickback the chain brake can be activated in three ways: by inertia and by the user’s right or left hand wrists. TrioBrake™ also enhances safer operation of the machine in a more ergonomic fashion, with less strain on the body.

Can I use any chain oil? Yes, provided it’s a saw chain oil of good quality, preferably biodegradable. Never use waste oil. To maximise the life of the saw bar and chain we recommend our own vegetable-based saw chain oil, optimised for Husqvarna’s chainsaws.

22

TOP QUESTIONS BEFORE BUYING

How do I choose the right chainsaw? You should first consider how often you will use the saw and what you will use it for. For instance, if you occasionally cut firewood and fell a few trees around your home, you may prefer a domestic saw like the Husqvarna 240 e, or an all-round chainsaw like the Husqvarna 435 e.

What protective equipment do I need to operate a chainsaw? You should never operate a chainsaw without protective trousers with chainsaw protection, a helmet with visor and hearing protection, boots with chainsaw protection and gloves. You should also carry a first aid kit and preferably a mobile phone.

When should I file the chain? Can I do it myself? A sharp chain chews through the wood effortlessly, producing coarse sawdust. A dull chain produces wood dust. A rule of thumb is to file the chain each time you refuel the chainsaw. You can do it yourself – easiest is to use a Husqvarna file kit.

What type of fuel should I use in a Husqvarna chainsaw? Husqvarna chainsaws should always be run on a mixture of petrol and good-quality two-stroke oil. If you use Husqvarna’s two-stroke oil, which is optimised for Husqvarna’s engines, a 2 % mixture is sufficient. Ready mixed fuel is also available from Husqvarna. Ask your dealer for advice.

NOMINAL POWER  A new machinery directive (2006/42/EC) came into force on January 1, 2010, requiring manufacturers to declare the nominal power of engines, in kilowatts (kW). The power

rating of the engines indicated is the average net power output during a normal working situations and fulfilling applicable noise regulations (at specified rpm) of a typical production engine for the engine model measured to SAE standard J 1349/ISO 1585. Mass production engines may differ from this value. Actual power output for the engine installed in the final machine will depend on the operating speed, environmental conditions and other variables.

HARNESSES

An ergonomic Husqvarna harness will spread the load and help you move in the right manner. A harness will improve working movement, enable you to manage your job in a safer way and take the strain from your body. That’s why Husqvarna have spent time researching and developing harnesses to help you get the most out of your machine.   Using a machine the right way also makes a difference to how it handles, and the results you experience. Our ergonomically designed harnesses effectively spread the machine’s weight to maximise balance. Making the machine feel lighter, and manouverable and less strenuous to work with.

Spreading the weight of the machine as evenly as possible across back and shoulders is the number one design goal when we develop our ergonomic Husqvarna harnesses.

Balance XT ™

Comfortable working conditions are directly related to work results. TOP QUESTIONS BEFORE BUYING

Here are some frequently asked questions when buying a trimmer, brushcutter or a clearing saw.

What is the difference between grass trimmers and brushcutters? A grass trimmer is a smaller, lighter machine, made for trimming the lawn where the mower is unable to reach. Brushcutters and forestry clearing saws are more powerful machines; they can clear high grass, heavy brushwood and small trees.

I want to trim the lawn and clear brushwood at the edge of the forest. Do I need two machines? You can use the same machine for both jobs if you choose the right model. For instance the Husqvarna 336FR brushcutter is a combination model that comes complete with trimmer head, grass blade and saw blade.

I live in a quiet residential area where noise can upset the neighbours. Do you have any quiet-running machines? We have two models specifically designed for residential use. The Husqvarna 122LD and 122C run in low noise mode to minimise disturbance.

With so many manufacturers, why should I choose a Husqvarna? Husqvarna has manufactured commercial-grade trimmers and brushcutters for decades and has long been one of the world’s leading manufacturers. If you want a quality machine that will give you excellent service for many years, even if you’re using the machine at home, Husqvarna is a good choice.

52

TOP QUESTIONS BEFORE BUYING

Is it difficult to use a brushcutter? Not with the right techniques. Also, many of our machines are supplied with ergonomic harnesses that help take the weight off your arms, shoulders and back. The fundamentals of operating techniques, safety and maintenance are found in the manual of your Husqvarna machine. There are also training courses available.

Do I need to wear protective equipment? When using a brushcutter or trimmer you should use protective eyewear and a visor, protective trousers and boots, and don’t forget about gloves and hearing protection.

What type of fuel should I use in a Husqvarna grass cutter? Husqvarna grass cutters with two-stroke engines should always be run on a mixture of petrol and good-quality two-stroke oil. If you use Husqvarna’s two-stroke oil, which is optimised for Husqvarna’s engines, a 2% mixture is sufficient. Machines with four-stroke engines must use straight petrol. Ready mixed fuel is also available from Husqvarna. Ask your dealer for advice.

What types of cutting equipment are available? Grass trimmers are used with a trimmer head with trimmer line. Brushcutters can be equipped with either trimmer head, grass blade or saw blade depending on type of application.

For more information, visit our website. You’ll find comparison charts, videos, web pages for our full range of brushcutters, clearing saws and trimmers, protective clothing as well as accessories. There’s also additional advice to help you decide which machine is right for the job you have in mind. www.husqvarna.com

WORKING FOR THE BEST SOLUTION

Exceptionally beautiful looking hedges take time and care. Perfect hedge trimming can be both monotonous and strenuous — if you don’t use the right kind of tools. No matter whether the hedge is high or wide, the hedge trimmer needs to be a powerful extension of your arms to do the job well. Our goal is to provide you with the most effective hedge trimmers, so you can look back after a day’s work and admire the results, without an agonising strain on your arms and back. Husqvarna hedge trimmers are designed to do their tasks efficiently, they are also designed as a complete package from their ergonomically designed construction, their precise cutting strength, balance and control and overall feel.

Since the gears and knives on hedge trimmers are exposed to extreme stress and wear, all components have been developed for long life under tough conditions.

The double-sided hedge trimmers are equipped with knife guard. When working with our effective pole hedge trimmers, the knives are at a longer distance from the handles.

All of our commercial hedge trimmers are equipped with emission control system for less emissions. This also creates a better working environment for the operator when working with large hedges and long shifts.

TOP QUESTIONS BEFORE BUYING

Here are some frequently asked questions when buying a hedge trimmer.

What should I think about when choosing a hedge trimmer? Start by considering the size, shape and what you want to do with it. If the hedge is very tall or difficult to reach, you’ll benefit from the reach of a pole hedge trimmer. If it’s wide, try a single-sided hedge trimmer with an extra long cutting bar. A double-sided hedge trimmer with a tilting rear handle is ideal if you want to shape your hedge.

What are the risks of using a hedge trimmer? The blades are sharp and you can injure your fingers or hands if you’re not careful. For this reason when using a hedge trimmer you should always wear gloves, as well as hearing protection and protective eyewear.

I don’t want to disturb the neighbours. Do you have any hedge trimmers that run quietly? Yes, we have two models, the Husqvarna 122HD60 and 122HD45, which are specially designed to run in low noise mode.

TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS

Here are some frequently asked questions when buying a zero-turn mower. What is the difference between zero-turn mowers and other ride-on mowers?

When should I choose a zero-turn mower? When you need a fast and manoeuverable machine for efficient mowing on larger areas of grass. Its ability to turn on its own axis saves time when navigating obstacles and turning around. And its easy handling makes it very comfortable and enjoyable to use.

A zero-turn mower has a lever-operated steering system instead of a steering wheel. The levers individually control the drive wheels which means the machine can turn around on its own axis, leaving no uncut circle. Also, the zero-turn mower has a higher capacity than other ride-on mowers thanks to its higher speed.

Is it difficult to use a zero-turn mower? Not once you have learned the technique. You will soon realise that using a zero-turn mower really combines enjoyable operation with mowing efficiency. When you push both levers forward, the machine moves forward. Pulling the levers back toward you makes the machine move backward. By moving the levers in different directions you can literally turn on a coin.

All Husqvarna Riders are constructed using a precision welded 3 mm thick steel plate. The whole frame is then powder-coated for optimum corrosion resistance.

The Rider’s low gravity centre in combination with its excellent traction ensures a safer ride when working on undulating lawns. The AllWheel-Drive (AWD) automatically adjusts on uneven, wet and slippery areas and slopes, for even safer operation.

BioClip (mulching) provides optimum cutting results on frequently cut areas. The grass is cut into fine pieces which is deposited back onto the lawn. These cuttings quickly turn into fertiliser to nourish the soil.

TOP QUESTIONS BEFORE BUYING

Here are some frequently asked questions when buying a Rider.

I am thinking about buying a ride-on mower. Should I choose a Rider or a garden tractor? It depends mainly on what your garden looks like, the size of your lawn and what is on it. A Rider has a much smaller turning circle than a tractor thanks to the Rider’s articulated steering. The frontmounted cutting deck also makes the Rider more convenient when mowing around obstacles and in narrow sections.

Are Husqvarna Riders easy to operate? Yes, Husqvarna Riders are extremely easy to handle. The unique articulated steering and the hydrostatic transmission deliver smooth operation, so you can finish the job faster and with greater precision, even on lawns with complex shapes and in tight spaces.

What protective equipment should I use when operating a Rider? We recommend long trousers, heavy footwear and hearing protection. Hearing protection with a built-in FM radio is a good idea for long periods of work. Never operate a Rider when barefooted or in sandals.

Can I use a Husqvarna Rider in any season, for other things than mowing the lawn? Yes, Husqvarna offers a number of practical attachments that make a Rider useful in the garden throughout the year. For instance a snow thrower, flail mower, broom and trailer.

96

TOP QUESTIONS BEFORE BUYING

What should I think about when choosing a ride-on mower? Choose a model with enough capacity for the size of the lawn you are going to mow. If there are narrow sections, this can help you determine the cutting width of the machine. If the lawn is uneven or sloping, you might need a model with all-wheel drive and extra powerful engine. You should also consider which other jobs you could use the machine for, apart from mowing the lawn.

What are the advantages of the Combi cutting deck? With a Combi cutting deck you have two cutting techniques to choose from: rear ejection and BioClip (mulching). Taller, wilder grass and coarser types of grass should be cut in rear ejection mode which can manage large amounts of grass. The BioClip cutting mode is ideal for more frequent mowing and gives finely cut grass clippings that return to the lawn as fertiliser.

What are the advantages of having the cutting deck at the front? With the front-mounted cutting deck, you have total control over your working area, allowing you to reach under bushes and get closer to fences and walls. This means minimised need of separate trimming after mowing.

THE BEST PERFORMANCE FOR YOU

Reliable, durable engines. Premium power from a top performer.

Wide range of accessories. Adapts for year round work.

Versatile cutting options. Ensures cutting efficiency for all types of lawn conditions.

Durability.

Safety.

Environment.

Most of our tractors are equipped with durable and high-specification overhead valve engines from Kawasaki or Kohler featuring full pressure lubrication and oil filters. The tractors are also built on a robust steel chassis, ensuring maximum durability and sturdiness.

All our tractors have a Reverse Operating System (ROS) that disengages the blades when driving in reverse. They also have a safety switch under the seat. If the driver leaves the seat, the engine and cutting deck are automatically switched off.

With the BioClip cutting mode the grass is cut into small pieces that decompose and return to the lawn as fertiliser. This means that no extra fertiliser needs to be added. BioClip also makes the lawn more drought resistant.

TOP QUESTIONS BEFORE BUYING

Here are some frequently asked questions when buying a tractor.

What should I think about when choosing a garden tractor? For a large lawn you need a tractor with more capacity, i.e. a wider cutting deck. If the area has lots of obstacles and includes narrow passages, it’s important that the cutting width is small enough to move through the tightest spaces. The Husqvarna garden tractor range includes tractors with cutting widths from 77 to 137 cm.

When I’m cutting high and coarse grass, which is the most efficient method? The most efficient cutting method is side ejection.

There are lots of manufacturers. Why should I choose a Husqvarna? Husqvarna garden tractors are high-quality machines from the world’s leading manufacturer. They are sold only at selected, servicing, authorised dealers, who can advise you on which tractor you should choose and how to maintain it, for maximum efficiency and pleasure for many years to come.

114

TOP QUESTIONS BEFORE BUYING

Which cutting system should I choose? If you want to collect grass clippings, leaves and other debris, choose a tractor with an integrated collector. If you want to fertilise your lawn while mowing choose the BioClip cutting mode, this requires somewhat more frequent mowing. For seldom cut lawns, a tractor with side ejection is the most efficient solution.

What is the benefit of a hydrostatic transmission? A tractor with hydrostatic transmission is much easier to drive than one with a manual transmission. With manual, you have to stop the tractor every time you want to change gears. For maximum user comfort, choose a tractor with pedal-operated hydrostatic transmission.

Can I use the machine for other things than mowing the lawn? Yes. Husqvarna offers a number of practical attachments that make our tractors useful in the garden throughout the year. For instance a trailer, spreader, moss rake, broom and snow thrower.

For more information, visit our website. You’ll find comparison charts, videos, web pages for our full range of garden tractor as well as accessories. There’s also additional advice to help you decide which machine is right for the job you have in mind. www.husqvarna.com

Our new lawnmower range features stable, durable cutting decks made of zinc-plated steel for optimum product lifetime. The robust ballbearing wheels ensure the mower rolls easily without the wheels becoming loose, even after many years of use.

All our lawnmowers are equipped with a safety grip that instantaneously stops the blade and motor if the operator loses hold of the machine. The starter is placed on the handle, making it easy for the user to reach and at a safe distance from the cutting deck.

With the BioClip cutting mode the lawn is fertilised in an environment-friendly way. The grass is cut several times and the clippings returned to the lawn as fertiliser, also making it more drought resistance. All our lawnmower materials are defined and marked for future sorting and reuse.

LAWNMOWERS

A floating hover mower defies all heavy slopes and hindering obstacles. A mower that floats on a cushion of air has its greatest advantage on sloping ground. It cuts in any direction and with a weight of just 15 kg it takes very little strength to move it up and down slopes and around flower beds and trees. This one has a quiet but powerful petrol engine that

performs with less noise and still produces excellent cutting results. The engine has a special specification which allow the mower to work on slopes up to 45 degrees. Perfect for professional use or on a large property where you need cordless hover performance.

TOP QUESTIONS BEFORE BUYING

Here are some frequently asked questions when buying a lawnmower.

This is my first time buying a lawn mower. What kind of cutting system should I choose? If you’re not certain about which cutting system best suits your lawn and your mowing habits, you should choose a Husqvarna lawnmower that handles several cutting systems: rear ejection, collection and BioClip (mulching).

What different types of lawnmowers does Husqvarna offer? Husqvarna’s model programme contains several lawnmower models for all types of lawns, from hard-wearing commercial models for professional users and self-propelled mowers for large gardens to push mowers for small gardens in high-density areas. Husqvarna’s extensive range is sure to include one that suits you perfectly.

Should I buy a lawnmower with a collection system? Lawnmowers with collection give tidy results and save time since you don’t need to rake clippings after you’ve finished cutting. You can also use collection for leaves when the autumn comes. Collection is also a good idea if you want to avoid allergic reactions to grass, and decrease the spreading of weed seeds.

How do I know which cutting width I should use? It depends on the size of your lawn. The larger the lawn, the bigger the cutting deck. To mow 1000 square metres of lawn, you have to walk between two and three kilometres, depending on the cutting width.

134

TOP QUESTIONS BEFORE BUYING

How easy are these mowers to operate? Self-propelled models with rear-wheel drive are better for sloping terrain because the weight of the machine rests on its rear wheels, providing greater traction. Front-wheel-drive mowers, however, offer more manoeuvrability, allowing the operator to turn the machine simply by pushing its handle down, lifting the front wheels off the ground and swiveling it in a new direction.

I’ve read about the BioClip mulch system. Is that something I should also consider? The BioClip mulching method is ideal if you demand first-rate results and if you mow often. The finely-chopped grass cuttings fertilise the lawn and make it more drought resistant.

For more information, visit our website. You’ll find comparison charts, videos, web pages for our full range of lawnmowers as well as accessories. There’s also additional advice to help you decide which machine is right for the job you have in mind. www.husqvarna.com

Powered by the sun it works while you do the other chores. Let the sun help you to keep your lawn looking great. The Solar Hybrid model, does just that. Based on the revolutionising technology, the solar panel adds power from the sun to charge the battery. No noise, no emissions and no worries. You just place it on the lawn and watch it go to work. The solar panel will, in good conditions, double the mow time per charge, which means even less

energy consumption. When light fades and during nights, the battery takes over. Mowing daytime only, you have the capacity of 1000 –1300 m². If you let it work around the clock it can handle around 2200 m². It’s like having a silent green-keeper working 24 hours 7 days a week, if you want. With a perfect result.

ROBOTIC LAWNMOWERS

Hard-working battery-powered robotic mowers. More and more homeowners are choosing a Husqvarna Automower® robotic lawnmower to keep their lawn looking great, while they do something else. These models are battery powered, moving across your lawn in a random pattern. When the mower reaches the boundary

wire, it turns around and proceeds back across the lawn. It produces no emissions and it’s extremely quiet. The razorlike blades cut the grass cleanly and since cutting is so frequent, the grass clippings are short, which produces better fertiliser.

TOP QUESTIONS BEFORE BUYING

Here are some frequently asked questions when buying a robotic mower.

Are they difficult to install? Not at all – you can easily do the installation yourself. It takes roughly two to five hours, depending on the size and shape of the lawn. If you want, your dealer can assist you with installation, for a fee.

Can the robotic lawnmowers handle uneven or sloping lawns? They can handle inclines of up to 35 % and uneven lawns, thanks to their large driving wheels – following slopes without scalping “hilltops” the way many conventional mowers do.

Can they operate in poor weather? Weather-resistant – they can work in rain without any problems. However you should take yours inside in extreme conditions like heavy downpours or storms. And it should stay inside in winter.

Can they cause injury to children or pets? A built-in safety system stops the robotic lawnmower if it is lifted up or tips onto its side. However we recommend turning it off when small children are playing on the lawn. If it collides with a pet, the contact is very light. It’s unlikely to cause any injury. Slugs and snails are the only animal that need be afraid.

150

TOP QUESTIONS BEFORE BUYING

How can I protect my robotic lawnmower from theft? A number of anti-theft systems can be activated. Most importantly, it cannot be used without its own PIN code. The installation lock prevents it from being used on any other installations than its own.

How much lawn can the robotic lawnmower manage? A single one can manage up to 5500 square metres, depending on the model and the nature of the lawn. If the lawn is even bigger, you can let two or more work simultaneously.

How environmental are they? Since it runs on batteries, it doesn’t produce any emissions. Its electricity consumption is very low, approx. 100 – 200 kWh per year, depending on the size of the lawn.

How much noise do they make? As they work quietly, they won’t disturb you or your neighbours, not even when operating at night. The noise level is very low, 64 dB(A), compared to 95–100 dB(A) for an average conventional mower.

TOP QUESTIONS BEFORE BUYING

Here are some frequently asked questions when buying a snow thrower.

What is the difference between a single-stage and two-stage snow thrower? Two-stage models are most effective for heavy and packed snow. The snow moves through the machine in two steps; first through the auger screw before being discharged through the chute by an impeller fan. A one-stage snow thrower doesn’t have an impeller fan.

Are snow throwers difficult to start in cold conditions? No. Most of Husqvarna snow throwers have electric starters that make starting easier whatever the climate or conditions.

My drive way is large and sloping. Which snow thrower would you recommend? The Husqvarna ST 268EP snow thrower has a powerful engine and wide working width which will save you time if the area is large and covered in deep, heavy snow.

170

TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS

Do Husqvarna snow throwers work on a gravel driveway? Yes, but it is recommended that you keep it slightly tilted back so that it doesn’t pick up too many stones.
