Check In / Martinez Hotel
Once upon a time ‌
The Hotel Martinez is known for stylish living, where comfort and technology have aesthetic overtones, and from its eminent position on the sea front, on the famous boulevard de La Croisette in Cannes, the Hotel Martinez has established itself over the decades as the flagship hotel on the Riviera. From the outside, its architectural beauty makes it timeless and establishes its elegance and eternal youth. With seven floors that overlook the sea front and a floor area that covers 40,000 square metres, it is one of the top European luxury hotels.
Today, everyone sees Cannes as the world capital of cinema, the city of spangles and starlets, gold and yachts (often immobile), glitter and stars. It is a paradisiacal holiday venue for the wealthy and mighty, the stir of international conventions and also, in summer, the thrill of holidaymakers treading on the red carpet of the Festival Hall steps, with their head in the stars. This effervescence should not, however, make us forget the long centuries of isolation in which generations of inhabitants of Cannes, farmers and fishermen, experienced a harsh, insecure and often dangerous life. Although the people of Cannes were poor, they had an immutable treasure, a providential gift in their enchanting environment under clement skies with a mild climate. The beautiful Bay, the harmonious site, the setting of the hills providing a shield against winds from the outside, the promontory overlooking the beach, the two islands hugging and protecting the coast, a conjunction that has always fascinated and attracted people... from the dawn of time. 14:15 EK077 Arrival Group Flight (Dubai to Nice)

Free Evening The Perfume Town / Grasse Grasse appeared in the cartularies of the Middle Ages, in the early 11th century.
Lunch / Le Park The remains of an estate which enjoyed its golden age in the 1930s, Le Park Lenôtre in Mougins covers nearly 18,000 sqm. Le Park Lenôtre’s lush vegetation invites guests on a voyage of discovery around the Swan pool, the antique theatre and the Florentine fountain dating from the 17th century. Lenôtre is considered one of the ambassadors of French Gastronomy throughout the world. The firm owns 64 luxury gastronomy addresses in 13 countries and keeps on developing especially in Middle East and South East Asia. For a few years, Le Park was owned by French soccer player Patrick Vieira (part of the 1998 World Champions team). He sold Le Park to Lenôtre in 2009.
At the beginning of the 12th century, Grasse became a free commune and an active commercial town. It has still kept to this day the urban structure of the time.

Sales tax is quite high at 18.6%, and is included in the shop prices. This tax can be refunded to tourists from outside of the EU whenever €175 or more is spent in the same shop. Most retailers will present you with a form to fill out in these cases, to give to customs officials at the airport. In other situations, however, tourists have to pay special taxes. While staying in France, visitors usually have to pay a tourism tax or a flat-rate tourism tax which is fixed by the local authority and ranges between 0,15 and 1,07 € per person per day, depending on the quality and the standard of the accommodation. The tax will be added to your hotel bill by the owner of the accommodation.

People in Cannes speak French with a southern accent. Until 1914 the inhabitants of Cannes spoke Cannois, a variant of Provençal-Maritime, which can still today be noticed in most place names. Today only a small group mainly from the fishing community speaks that typical accent from this branch of Provençal.
