Trouble Shooting
Pump won’t prime:
• No liquid in tank • Suction filter blocked • Filter valve closed • Check all suction hoses (clear) for signs of air bubbles and trace to leakage • Control valve isn’t on bypass Pump won’t build pressure:
• Tractor RPM too low (should be 540RPM) • Suction filter blocked • Changeover ball valve turned to fresh water tank • Control valve on bypass • Sucking air at some point • Pressure gauge faulty • Diaphragms gone in pump- pump oil will go grey and bubbly • Pump capacity not sufficient to service nozzles Pump is noisy or pulses:
• Pump pressure chamber is too low- re-pressurise to similar pressure to spraying; pressure (only on pumps with accumulator fitted) • An air lock in the suction lines, - open valves to bleed air out of system • Pump valves and o-rings worn • Valves in pump sticking from chemical residue build up or air lock in system - Alternate revs up and down between 3OO-6OOrpm to free sticky valves then set back to normal operating speed.
