WARNINGS • Take EXTREME CARE when connecting the tow bar to the three point linkage of a tractor. Ensure the tractor handbrake is applied before leaving the cab. Ensure the correct size hitch balls are used. • Inspect the SWIFTHITCH for damage or wear BEFORE each use. ENSURE the hitch safety latch is working correctly and the spring is functioning. If the spring fails it could cause the trailer to come disconnected from the tow bar. • ALL persons must be kept well clear of machine in operation. Only the operator should be within 3 metres of the machine during operation. • Watch CAREFULLY when driving for over-width and tail-swing when travelling through gateways or near objects or people. • When tow bar is not being used, ensure it is stored securely and will NOT fall onto anyone passing by. • If the tow bar is connected to a tractor, BEFORE attempting maintenance or any work, ensure the tractor engine is shut off and no one is near the hydraulic controls. • DO NOT allow any person(s) to ride on the tow bar or trailed machine at ANY time. • ALWAYS lift the tow bar to the correct height specified in the ‘Operating Instruction’ section before towing a trailed unit • Take EXTREME CARE when towing a trailer over uneven or sloped ground. The angle changes the balance point and could tip the vehicle over. The tractor and trailer manufacturer capacity and angle ratings must be adhered to. • NO alteration or modification is to be done on this machine unless undertaken or authorised by Hustler. Otherwise this will void warranty. • KEEP CLEAR of moving hitch safety latch. It may pinch a hand or fingers. • REGULARLY check the machine for signs of wear, stress or damage. • ENSURE any parts are repaired/replaced if needed. • Hustler Equipment recommend using a rated safety chain from the trailed unit to either the tractor or the Swifthitch. It is for the operator to check the law of their country/state regarding towing a trailer unit. Hustler Equipement do not recommend driving over undulating terrain or on public roads using the Swifthitch. 4
MAINTENANCE (also do this before initial operation) • Grease the hitch pin wear plate regularly • The hitch pin must be connected using a nyloc nut and MUST be torqued to 900n/m. If the pin is removed/replaced it MUST fixed using a new nyloc nut. • After the first 10 hours of operation check all pins have their retaining clips attached. • During routine servicing check that the rope is attached securely and the clips have retained their spring. • Check the hitch safety latch is working correctly before each use. Regulary check the spring for wear, if the spring fails the trailer may disconnect from the tow bar. • In a salty atmosphere keep grease on the pins. • Regularly check the machine for signs of wear, stress or damage. Ensure any parts are repaired/replaced if needed. • Get out, fit the hitch pins and latch securely in place. Connect the hydraulic couplings so pulling the lever towards you or to your left clamps the bale.

OPERATIONAL INSTRUCTIONS • Connect the 3-point linkage to the SWIFTHITCH. • With the tractor and trailed unit sitting on level gorund, lift the SWIFTHITCH up to connect the pin through the trailer eye. • Set the SWIFTHITCH height so the hitch frame is at 90 degrees to the trailer draw bar. See picture below. • Ensure the trailer jack is lifted well clear of the ground so it will not hit when on non-level ground. • We recommend a safety chain is connected from the trailer to either the SWIFTHITCH or the tractor.
TROUBLE SHOOTING ISSUE
SOLUTION

The safety Latch spring is damaged or has been removed.
•
Replace the Safety Latch spring

•
Hitch may have been lifted too high when towing a trailer
•

•
The incorrect pin size is used for the load it is towing
•
See the ‘Specifications’ section for pin ratings
•
Dirty Platform
