Huws Gray had a busy couple of days at this years Royal Welsh with the popular agricultural show having a record high attendance of nearly 242’000 people.

The busy team at the Huws Gray Truss & Easi-Joist Centre recently had a challenge on their hands when they measured, designed, manufactured and delivered a complex 14 metre roof truss. The flat top roof truss is supplied to UK’s leading frozen food supermarket chain, Iceland in Buckley which is undergoing alterations and extensions. Huws Gray will be supplying the store with over 50 trusses in total and will be delivered using a

After two years of internal focus and consolidation, the Anglesey-based company is back on the acquisition trail. The recent acquisition of the well-established R.W. Almond Builders Merchants, which is located between Liverpool and Southport, takes the number of Merseyside braches to 6 and total trading branches to 44, further strengthens Huws Gray’s positon in the North West. This share purchase deal follows a two year period of consolidation and

Flint’s Anniversary Open Day was a huge success with over 450 people attending to get their hands on complimentary hog-roast, on the day offers, giveaways and much more. Flint’s Anniversary event was Huws Gray’s sixth anniversary open day of the year. The weather forecast promised rain but luckily enough it held off and visitors, suppliers and employees got to enjoy the special day outside in the sunshine. Huws Gray had a fantastic couple of days at the Anglesey Show this year. We had a trade stand to exhibit a wide range of landscaping products and to meet and greet new and existing customers. The show had over 30’000 visitors over the two days so it was busy few days for the Huws Gray team. On display was a wide range of promotions from Makita, Zest garden furniture, multi-fuel stoves, paviours from Mona Precast and much more.
With temperatures over 20ºC on the Wednesday – everyone was in high spirits and enjoying the sunshine. Chris Joyce (Operations Manager) commented, “It was great to see some new faces and catch up with existing customers. The weather was fantastic and we thoroughly enjoyed it. Thanks to everyone who came to say hello and we hope to see you again next year.” On the stand was a mini golf

Eighteen brave Huws Gray employees recently took on the fastest Zip Line in the world to raise essential funding for Hope House Chidren’s Hospice. After weeks of anticipation and build up to the big day, the Huws Gray team took on the Zip Wire Velocity known as the “nearest thing to flying” located at Penrhyn Quarry, Bethesda (Gwynedd). Among the group were Francis, Andy,
Pat, Ian, Sam and Robert from the Rhuddlan branch, Terry, John, Richard, Dafydd and Jamie from the Holyhead branch, Jamie and Darren from the Flint branch and Dewi Morris, Tony, Yvonne and Dafydd Hughes from Head Office. Also taking part, supporting Huws Gray from Crime Prevention Services was Daniel Farrell. Hughes said, “We had a great time, everyone really enjoyed it. Neither of us had done anything like it before

so we didn’t know what to expect. At start we were a bit nervous, but we all built up the courage and completed it. “We’d like to thank Hope House for organising a fantastic day. Huws Gray’s recent 25th Anniversary Charity Evening proved to be a hugely enjoyable affair which raised almost £4,000 for the company’s nominated children’s hospices.

More than 100 guests, including suppliers, were treated to a night full of fun and entertainment at The St. David’s Park Hotel at Ewloe in Flintshire.
A charity auction followed Mickey Thomas, with fantastic items including Maradonna football shirt donated by Marshalls and VIP tickets at Old Trafford donated by Encon Insulation. The auction generated a great deal of interest and raised significant and essential funding for the hospices.
Star speaker was ex-Wales football international Mickey Thomas, who had guests in raptures with his on and off-field anecdotes about his colourful and successful professional career with clubs including Manchester United, Chelsea,
