PLAN YOUR TRIP
YOU DECIDE
You decide in which place along the route you want to start your trip, how many stages you want to do and whether or not you would like to skip some stages. West Coast Cycle Route is one continuous cycle route, but you can use public transport to cover some of the distance in several places along the way.
ARRIVAL AND DEPARTURE BY CAR
If you arrive by car, you can find various options for long-term parking. This book contains recommendations for suitable parking lots for each stage. Be aware, however, that because West Coast Cycle Route runs from the south to the north, you will either have to return by the same route or use public transport to return to your starting point.
TRAINS AND BUSSES
You can travel by train or bus to and from all starting and end points along the twelve stages of West Coast Cycle Route. In certain cases, however, you might want to start your trip in a railway town in the relevant area and then cycle to the nearest entry point for West Coast Cycle Route. You can take along your bicycle on most trains. The same goes for the buses unless limitations apply due to lack of space. Always check with the bus and train companies listed in this book.
Use www.rejseplanen.dk or the app Rejseplanen to look for information on departures and arrivals. Here you can also find information on trains on which bicycles are allowed.
FERRY FROM THYBORØN TO AGGER
West Coast Cycle Route includes only one ferry crossing: between Thyborøn and Agger. Obviously, you can take your bicycle along on this ferry. Check out the crossing schedules and prices here www.thyboronagger.dk
FARRY FROM ESBJERG TO FANØ
