Competition Outline On September 23 and 24, five (5) teams of three (3) overclockers. They will compete using the hardware provided by the organizer in an ambient overclocking competition. Each team will assign a specific motherboard brand to one overclocker of the team. The overclocker will only be allowed to handle this brand. The competition is spread across two days. On Day 1 (September 23) the overclockers compete in an individual competition featuring four different benchmarks. On Day 2 (September 24) the overclockers compete in a team competition. At the end of the competition the points are totaled and the best four teams are invited to the Final Four 3v3 tournament. The Final Four is a 3v3 tournament where each overclocker faces the overclocker from the other team which is using the same motherboard. The team that wins the Final Four tournament Champion of the Overclocking Unlocked 2017.

Rules Each overclocker competes individually to achieve the best results for each benchmark. The CPU will be distributed by lucky draw to the participants. Each participant will receive two (2) samples and an extra CPU is available for the team. The team can decide who to allocate the extra CPU to. The hardware assigned to each overclocker cannot be shared with team members once the competition has started. If the processor is damaged (read: does not function normally anymore), no replacement will be provided. The participant is not disqualified nor loses the round, he may however be unable to continue competing depending on the damage. Submitted score(s) will stand and will be taken into account for the ranking. After the competition the CPUs has to be given back to the Judge. Removal of the CPU, positioning and closing the lid on the HWBOT test setup is the responsibility of the participant. This action is performed only in presence of a judge or HWBOT Staff member. Thus no CPUs are accepted by hand. CPUs have to be verified on the spot for proper functioning! Scores have to be submitted by each contestants here (HWBOT / OC-Esports rules apply): http://oc-esports.io/#!/round/intel_oc_unlocked_2017_day1

Rules Each overclocker contributes to the team average score to achieve the best results for each benchmark. The ranking is based on the average score for each team and compiled based on the best score of each participant. The CPU will be distributed by lucky draw to the participants. Final Four Tournament Benchmark selection The benchmark for each 3v3 match will be determined by a pass/veto choice. The overclocker from each team is presented with a choice of benchmark determined by random draw. During the draw, participants may not talk outside the awaited answer:
Pass, or Veto.
A maximum of one Veto is allowed per competitor. One has 15 seconds to provide a clear reply. It will be repeated by the judge and can no longer be changed. No decision = Pass. The draw priority is decided by the ranking position from the qualifiers. The highest ranked from the qualifiers always gets to choose first. Once a benchmark has been Passed or Vetoed it will be excluded from future draws.

Each overclocker assigned to a specific motherboard brand will face the overclocker from the other assigned to the same brand. So ASUS vs ASUS, ASRock vs ASRock and MSI vs MSI. The team is allowed to swap CPUs at the start of the Final Four tournament. After the start of the tournament no more hardware changes are allowed. BIOS/software profiles will be reset by the judge before the start of the match. Loading any preconfigured user/manufacturer bios/software profile is not allowed. The Judge will clear all Profiles (even empty ones) one by one before each round start. During the match one can save new profiles, though these will be removed or reset again before the start of the next round. Prepared notes, usage of any aid device (laptop, smartphone, etc) is only allowed during the qualifiers. Taking notes is allowed during the 1v1, though these can't be re-used for the next round. It is the participant’s responsibility to ensure the provided hardware/OS/Benchmarks and other software are working before the beginning of the match. The system must be in the BIOS before the start of the match. Benchmarks screens have to remain visible at all times, no reducing or minimizing the window is allowed. For Cinebench, Realtime mode is not allowed. To qualify for the next round at least one score per team has to be submitted. Failing to submit a score results in losing the match. After each round the CPU and memory kit has to be given back to the Judge. Removal of the CPU, positioning and closing the lid on the HWBOT test setup is the responsibility of the participant. This action is performed only in presence of a judge or HWBOT Staff member. Thus no CPUs are accepted by hand. CPUs have to be verified on the spot for proper functioning!
Stage behavior It is not allowed to walk off stage. Participants may stop competing but they must remain on stage until the end. If a participant walks off stage without the judge's permission, he forfeits the match (W.O.). Participants are allowed to forfeit the match (W.O.). He must inform the judge.
