ABOUT ME My name is Hyma, This portfolio showcases a selection of projects that I have worked on throughout my academic experience, professional practice, as well as personal works that are related to design. I think architecture, research and design are powerful tools to make the world a better place. I believe in the importance of diversifying my experiences by trying not to stay stable in life and that all diversity will help me become a more talented, thoughtful and versatile designer. In the school of architecture, I developed skills in designing; I can work with all major applications and acquire impeccable technical and software skills.

Over the past 3 years of working as a Junior Architect in chennai, I have gained experience executing designs from concept to detail stages, solving complexities. I have worked in few respected architectural and design companies from which I had an active role to manage potential projects and with three years experience in various projects involving commercial, institutional, residential and industrial buildings. I consider myself an organised person, fast and independent learner. I am adaptive to various tasks given both individually and in groups. I believe I’m a reliable and ambitious person, who is quite attentive to details. I’m constantly curious which helps to open myself for new knowledge.

Good ideas begin and result in multidisciplinary, re-research and collaborative design process. My goal in this process is to help shape the built environment better by creating preserving the aesthetic and functional architecture, communicating good ideas and developing rational policy. I will continue to work, learn and improve myself to do my best on this goal.

WAREHOUSE IN HOSUR Warehouse in hosur was the first industrial project I worked on, in which I got to witness project from its conception and its development. I got the chance to develop one of the three warehouses, produced working drawings for all three. This warehouse is used for storage, office space and warehouse purposes.

WAREHOUSE IN COIMBATORE Warehouse in Coimbatore is used for storage, and office space purposes. This is about 250060 Sqft in total area with mezzanine area for office space within the warehouse. Parking docking provided for 32 trucks with three ramps and fire exits for every 45 m as per standards.

FACTORY AND WAREHOUSE This is a 30 Acre site with requirement of Factory and a warehouse with all necessary and service buildings. Factory is about 339090 Sqft in total area with light offices within the factory area and heavy office space of G+1 for admin, recreational and working space. 01

01 FACTORY AND WAREHOUSE PROJECTS PRESENTATION MODELS AND DRAWINGS

2018 - 2021

Industrial projects were major projects in my last firm. They were lot of type and different scale of warehouse and factories designed ranging from 2 Acres to 40 Acres. Within these industrial space, service buildings, Main entrance with security cabins, drivers resting rooms and watch towers are also designed. Mainly these structures are built of pre-engineered buildings, steel structures with truss and metal roofs with ventilators. Production of design proposal documents, including research and concept diagrams, technical drawings and perspective renderings. Drafted various design drawings and made subsequent adjustment based on feedbacks.

WAREHOUSES IN HOSUR

Warehouses were divided into three separate entities with their own supportive buildings. With the common entrance an of the site with common roads with in the site. A slight variation of slope from the entry to the end of the site with commo buildings. Mezzanine area for office space within the warehouse. Docking space provided for 32 trucks with three ramps a 45 m. Warehouse is provide with 15 percent ventilation with the long slits on the roofs within the sheets..

INTERIOR DESIGNS I have experience in designing Interiors for a whole villa, foyer space, gathering space and secondary living space, Av room, pooja rooms and also designing and detailing personalized furniture and joinery details. Other than deigning, I have selected furniture and lights as per need.

LANDSCAPE DESIGNS Another Residential works which involved landscape designs are entrance design, external balconies and the intermediate terraces where sit outs, in built furniture and garden is also in play. This wall for landscape faces the dining room of a residence.

DETAIL DRAWINGS I worked on the apartment interiors, furniture selections and wardrobe designs and drawings. Not only designs, I have also worked on RCP, flooring plans, finishes layout, structural drawings, services drawings, electricals and joinery details as well.

02 DESIGNING AND DETAILING PRESENTATION MODELS AND DRAWINGS

2016 - 2021

Not only residential projects, I have worked on landscape designs, Interior designs, furniture detailing and construction drawings. Projects ranging from small 800 Sqft apartment buildings to 15000 Sqft residential buildings. Projects and works involved are namely, Mr. Sudhakar residence – in which I worked on the apartment interiors, furniture selections and wardrobe designs and drawings. Not only designs, I have also worked on RCP, flooring plans, finishes layout, structural drawings, services drawings, electricals and joinery details as well.

LANDSCAPE DESIGN - ENTRANCE

Entrance design for residence in adyar, this is a 5ft wide and long space leads to the residence main entrance. One side has the residence with full height glass and the other the compound wall. On the other. Compound wall side with a motif on wall and a buddha statue in falling water as back drop.

DESIGN AND DETAILING - BEDROOM

In this bedroom design, I worked on the interiors, flooring selection, bathroom fixtures and vanity cabin, selections of materials. Wardrobe design and dealings for dressing room and selection of light fixtures. This is as kid bedroom, bed and other furniture are customized accordingly.

LIVING ROOM AND DINING ROOM Aim of this design is to create a elegant living and dining space, living is two storey height with full height glass opening on one side and the tv unit and wall mountings on the other. Dining is spaced diagonally to the living. I have worked on all the customized furniture drawings and joinery details.

CANTEEN DESIGN Canteen design for major company, this is both internal and external dining space. With kitchen space, all the necessary utilities, breakfast counter and capacity of 50 pax. I also did drawings and detailing with material and flooring selection.

OFFICE AND WORK SPACE Designing office interiors involved finishes layout, flooring layout, furniture selection and RCP. These offices are simple and straight forward designs which were only differed by area and user requirements. Produced working drawings and presentation modules for this project.

MEETING ROOM INTERIORS Toyoto reconnent is another such commercial project in which I got to wok on all meeting rooms of different sizes and requirements. There were two 5 person meeting rooms and two 6 person meeting rooms and one 12 person meeting rooms.

MEETING ROOMS AND COMMON SPACES Toyoto reconnent is another such commercial project in which I got to wok on all meeting rooms of different sizes and requirements. There were two 5 person meeting rooms and two 6 person meeting rooms and one 12 person meeting rooms. Produced working drawings and presentation modules for this project.

MEETING ROOMS AND COMMON SPACES Not only presentation models for Meeting rooms this also involved finishes layout, flooring layout, furniture selection and RCP. All the furniture production drawings and customised joinery and furniture detailing were also provided. Wall art or acoustic wall panels were also played with as per the requirement.

Other such commercial project is the 800 Sqft workspace with common hub and open meeting space. Telepod and telebooth as private cubic have also worked on RCP, flooring plans, finishes layout, structural drawings, services drawings, electricals and finishes drawings as well. ACADEMIC WORKS In this bedroom design, I worked on the interiors, flooring selection, bathroom fixtures and vanity cabin, selections of materials. Wardrobe design and dealings for dressing room and selection of light fixtures. are customized accordingly. to adept.

RESIDENTIAL DESIGN Residential elevations and interiors are few projects I freelance meanwhile perusing by B arch. Residential and interiors, drawing for basic and simple designs were the first few projects I have worked on. Construction drawings for such projects, presentation for meetings and representation models.

INSTITUTIONAL WORKS Was part of a design team which determine requirements, articulate user needs, and translate those needs into concepts and elegant designs. My role also entailed troubleshooting multiple issues and suggesting solutions to problems, and to analye them.

04 ACADEMIC AND INTERSHIP WORKS PRESENTATION AND DRAWINGS

2013 - 2018

Collage works started with basic design, a simple residence, hospital design, institute, and thesis. My objective of my thesis is to familiarize with designs on slopes. And to study a different type of buildings structures on sloped sites. My selection of site depended on the potentiality to generate and to bring about immediate socio-economic benefit from small investment. During my internship period, I got to work on few commercial and institutional projects. I got to witness a government institute – Pudhukottai agricultural college and Agricultural college in Thanjavur. As an intern, I got to witness and to experience design approach firsthand. This is when my Architectural knowledge grew and I got know live projects.

RESORT IN KUMIY - THESIS

There are four types of cottages: premium, deluxe, family and suites. Premium and deluxe are 60 Sqm. These are desi single sloped roof. Materials used are bamboo and thatch for roof and walls are plastered with mud. All the rooms ar the view. Interiors are full of in-built furniture and local materials to give users tribal house feel. Main endeavour of th form urban chaos and to quench the theist for mental space to relax. igned with two rooms under re oriented towards valley for his resort to create an escape ultifunctional space.

BEDROOM INTERIORS

This is one of the bedrooms in which I worked on entire set of the project from its initial to the construction. I have experience in designing Interiors for a whole villa, foyer space, gathering space and secondary living space, Av room, pooja rooms and also designing and detailing personalized furniture and joinery details.

BEDROOM INTERIORS

This bedroom required a full set of customized furniture. Starting with the four-post bed to the TV set. Bed side wall is given a texture wall matching the mood of the room with circular ornamental wall art centered to the bed. Foot bench and the private space with the bedroom with inbuilt book self are matched to the bedroom.

SOFTWARE RENDERINGS Photoshop and In design are the software I use to enhance or touch my sketches. I was interested to sketch all my plan and small academic conceptual designs. And till now I am more sided with starting any project with paper and follow it to softwares.

DOODLES

Doodling is my hobby, especially animated characters, cartoons and giving live life to foods and objects. This all started with basic small drawings and now I am more piqued to do intricated patterns and sketches.

SKETCHES With few sketches and doodling, after joining my B arch – my interest diverted to budlings, largescale masterplans, contoured houses in different levels and streetscapes. And to see them come alive with my drawings gives a great satisfaction.

Sketching and doodling helps me to take my mind off and brings out the best of me. This helps me in open ended thinking and creativity. I always feel there are no boundaries in terms of art on paper combined with our imagination. It also helped me to develop my visual thinking skills and creativity. Sketching also helped me to improvise my focus and concentration.
