URBAN HABITAT 2nd year Winter Term Duration - 10 weeks Professor - Jeremy Voorhees This mixed use residential project tests design ideas on an urban scale. The site is Callowhill Philadelphia, which is a neighborhood that suffered from deindustrialization and struggling to find an identity. The Urban Habitat aims to develop an urban fabric to revitalize the neighborhood.

PUBLIC SPACE is a driver of this project. The
site is located across the street from the Reading Viaduct, Philadelphia’s upcoming elevated park, similar to the High Line in New York. The project features an elevated plaza enclosed by three towers, situated above a parking garage. This public space allows through circulation, and is fronted by amenities for residents and the community.

SKETCHING I started drawing as a way of expressing my thoughts when I was younger. I would start putting lines on the paper and the drawing would develop naturally. This was my first experience with design, and I was incredibly interested with how I could bring ideas into reality. Since then I have also found enjoyment in sketching scenes from reality. Through drawing I can better understand the environment.

ABOVE THE CITY I have been inspired by the city for as long as I can remember. Whenever I saw the skyline I would be filled with excitement and energy. During my freshmen year of college I found Photography as a way to express my love for this city. Now I can show the city from my perspective
