How To Live Under The Sea
This is my graduation project.
It is a noval.
It is a text for the future, envisioned world.
How to live under the sea, is a novel. The work is set against an ideal future world, where as a result of global climate crises, mankind has been forced to live under the sea. We rely on the text, along with rich illustrations, to create a manual for that future era. As a how to manual, the work begins with the underwater exodus, and then proceeds topically, to food, clothing, homes, travel, education, and entertainment.
The work explores everything one needs to know to be prepared for life under the sea. The definitive text will also be joined with peripherals such as a color notebook, postcards, and spoken e-book versions.

Design Project
Creative Concept “How to live under the sea is a text for the future, envisioned world. While it might seem farfetched now, in the not too distant future it is not unforeseeable or impossible that it may become a reality indeed. My design perspective involves the r ealistic aspect and the metaphorical dimension. In r eal ter ms, the design approaches the practical issues of rising seas and environmental pollution. These are warning signs for humanity of impending disaster, and serve to remind us of the farcical truth that industry and high technology may lead to the undoing of our civilization through overdevelopment. As for the metaphorical treatment, the design envisions the destruction of the global ecology, as if a person drowning under water. Moreover, I use the idea of the postworld global community, to express mankind’s common plight; we also hope for a new world, which will be even better than our current one.

The cover uses handwritten calligraphy with golden gilt blue, while the interior pages use illustration paper to present a hazy image, and the different media help identify the different portions of the work. To create a sense of being under the water, the work relies on a brushed stroke technique on the three exposed sides of the text.

Illustrations The text uses hand drawn illustrations to create a lively and delightfully relaxing sense, allowing the reader to ease into the imaginary world before them. The imagery helps explain how at that time, besides the tremendous change in apparel, there will also be great differences in our means of transpor t and diet.

Once there was a young pair of lovers, and then the young man took ill and died, leaving the young woman singing painfully all day long in lament. Then one day when she was about to sing again, the young man suddenly appeared and took her to Mt. Tashan, where they resided together in a cave. Later, she gave birth to a son, and when the grandmother saw her grandson was so cute, she hugged me, and he immediately turned into the roots of a tree, until she handed him back to his mother’s embrace and he returned to a child. So the family had to return to Mt. Tashan to live until they eventually became an entire mountain. The mountain shape elicits the image of mother and child, holding each other in their mutual embrace like the hills of a mountain range.

Reflecting back and moving forward A match is worth less than one cent, while a house is worth millions dollars. However, a match can destroy a house. Once the insignificant potential destruction bursts, the power could eliminate everything. The design uses the match as a metaphor for the mistake a woman make. It takes a long time for one woman to be trusted and respected. However, one mistake could make her character bankrupted.

With the passage of time, it is imperative not to forget our original intentions, but to change our perspective, and consider things purely like an innocent child. Animals also love our cities, viewing the city as their own home. I hope that the city of tomorrow will be just like a playground.

Treat your pencil as a close friend?
The Universal Declaration of Human Rights declares: No one shall be subjected to torture or to cruel, inhuman or degrading treatment or punishment. This image relies on a metaphor comparing the pencil to a human, conveying the sense of how using an artistic knife to chip away from a pencil, is analogous to torturing people, and sometimes the pencil even breaks, evincing how tor ture of one person violates the universal human rights of all humanity.

Mascot- racoon, Doco The creative spirit for the raccoon image comes from the animal’s playful character, and the fact that the raccoon is a popular wild animal; raccoons like to make their habitat in forests nearby to rivers, lakes, or ponds, where they can catch their meals and clean them in pure waters before eating. JOY HERB also hopes to present a conceptual image sense of “natural, comfortable, and poetic. The delightful raccoon loves to bathe, and especially to enjoy a comfortable bath, as it is a most friendly, intelligent, and richly amiable little animal.

The planet loves me
For future mankind, with global climate change, it will become necessary to live in the oceans, and transportation will become submarines, while people must breathe with oxygen masks on, so we will want to know how birds sound, and want to say “chirp, chirp”, but only be able to say the “gurgle, gurgle” sounds of water. Environmental protection can save the planet, but we must begin now, lets work together starting today to change our future!

This toothbr ush kit is designed to improve the life of the blind. Its integrated design reduces tooth brushing barriers and makes it possible to take the toothbrush and toothpaste at the same time. The kit is a plastic device with the toothbrush equipped under the toothpaste. There is also a hole under the toothpaste to help it drop exactly on the toothbrush. Instead of squeezing toothpaste out of a tube, all the blind have to do is to press the button. The device will calculate the right toothpaste amount and drop it on the toothbrush. The blind can easily brush their tooth after removing the toothbrush from the device. The device will automatically beep to remind them replace the toothpaste once they run out of it.
