“...... When I was at this junction, I felt that there was an immense juxtaposition of architectural and spatial elements .

The Chinese

shorter in height and also took up the size of two shop fronts. This disruption in rhythm in the row of shophouse was conspicuous as there is only one such Chinese tem ple along the entire stretch of

an unremitting devotion to the things you want to see happen.

DENIAL & REWARD Through sticks and

plates ,

I

want to create an

enriching passage through the space and at the same time screen the view of the target.

This

would

result in a very intriguing space, that comprises of

massive,

skeletal

and

tunnelling

components

MATERIAL DIVERSITY Again, the element of denial & reward was evident. But this time, I employed the use of various materials to enhance the experience. Through the directed movement, I incorporated circulation in my model.

SEAMLESS & CANTILEVER I further developed my previous extracted the general motif of the

models

and

L shape module

and did a bigger model, incorporating material diver sity.

For this exercise, i made use of finger joints to create a seamless edge for my process model. In my final model, I wanted to experiment with the idea of flexibility. My structure would then hold itself only on alternate levels .

“The road of life, twists and turns and no two directions are ever the same.

Yet our lessons come from the journey, not the destination.

-

Don Williams . JR

“.....And

with that, there are many things that

with me from just one semester at

I

took away

NUS Architecture

school...

....I owe much to my family and loved ones, my tutor, Jiat-Hwee, my awesome seniors, and my studiomates who have always been there when I needed help...

...Throughout

these three months ,

I

have definitely

matured emotionally and mentally....

...I

have learnt more about life and also in the process ,

rediscovered a part of me in which

I

never knew, in that,

my determination and passion towards

Architecture.
