Pirelli joins Michelin as premium brand tyre makers return to Brityrex 2014 Pirelli, one of the world’s best-known tyre manufacturers, will be displaying its latest product lines at October’s Brityrex International exhibition. The Italian giant returns to the show after many years, in a welcome sign that leading tyre makers are recognising to importance of connecting face-to-face with trade stockists and buyers. Michelin, another of the biggest names in the industry, will also be at the show with its acclaimed UK training centre. Tyre buyers will be spoilt for choice as the line-up of manufacturers, wholesalers and brokers continues to grow, covering all sectors of the market. PCR lines will be well represented by the likes of Pirelli, Nankang, Stamford and Nordic Tyres, Infinity from Bond International, exclusive brands from wholesalers Treadsetters and Silverline, and an all-new PCR range from Aeolus, via its UK distributor Kings Road Tyres. Italian tyre firm Pirelli will be bringing a wide range of its latest products for truck to Brityrex, as well as the renowned car range. In particular, Pirelli will be exhibiting the latest products from its next generation :01 line-up, which have been developed using the latest design techniques, as is the case for Pirelli’s Ultra High Performance road car tyres. For commercial operators, a particular emphasis has been placed on durability, fuel economy and safety. The latest evolution of truck tyres is packed with technology such as SATT (Spiral Advanced Technology for Truck), a Hexagonal Bead Wire, Fully Rubberised Cord for belt, and a Dual Layer Tread Compound. The latest :01 tyres that will be seen at Brityrex also have a reinforced bead to offer more resistance and better retreadability compared with the previous generation of tyres. As well as tyres, Pirelli will be demonstrating its acclaimed web-based Fleet Management System, which brings centralised invoicing, job authorisation and cost control under one roof. European Tyre Distributors (ETD) is forging ahead in Europe with the exclusive brand LEAO and has over the last 10 years been selling radial truck and bus tyres throughout Europe. For over a year now ETD has also been selling the LEAO brand of agricultural and OTR tyres. The results have been extremely successful. According to managing director Marcus Reedijk, the turnover of the LEAO brand has shown an increase of 30% in first half of the year compared with last year’s turnover and this success is due to both the quality of the tyres and the service provided by ETD. Any specific issues relating to the tyre range are handled by Marco Reedijk, son of Marcus, and all ETD clients are dealt with professionally according to the high standards of the Company. Mr. Wolfgang Lüttschwager heads up the sales department with Mrs. Jeannette Bertolin, the sales manager. Both have more than 30 years’ experience within the tyre industry and both are well known in the tyre market. The introduction represents a huge landmark in wheel balancing technology, as the new megaspin 120 is the first 3D (fully automatic data input)’handspin’ balancer ever produced.
