Aword from our CEO Normal service resumes

As we approach 2022 with international travel once again possible, The Ian Potter Cultural Trust Board ofTrustees and staff look forward to returning to business as usual; awarding grants to support emerging artists to undertake professional development opportunities overseas.

Our funding rounds, which were paused in September 2020, have re-opened for 2022 with Funding Round 1 currently open for applications. Please find more information about this Funding Round and the requirements for international travel below

The CulturalTrust team also look forward to working with our grantees who have not yet been able to travel, as they reshape or reschedule their professional development projects in 2022.

While there is a sense of being ‘back on track’, I want to acknowledge the profound impact of COVID-19 on the creative industries and individual artists throughout the past two years and the lasting effects it may have on individuals’artistic practice, career trajectories,

I wish to congratulate our grantees who, regardless of these challenges, have achieved new milestones in their artistic practice.Among these is Literature grantee GrahamAkhurst, whose latest work Staffy was published in Kweli Literary Journal in November and whose debut novel Borderland is set to be released by Hachette Australia in 2022.

Lastly, I would like to thank those who participated in The Ian Potter Cultural Trust Evaluation online survey and interviews. The experiences you shared will be critical when considering the Cultural Trust's future direction and strategiesto supportAustralian artists.

As the year winds down I hope you, your family, friends, and colleagues are keeping safe, well and enjoying the ‘new normal’of reduced restrictions. Wishing you a wonderful festive season, wherever you are and however you celebrate.

Craig Connelly CEO
