The stunning Duesenberg - Model J The Duesenberg - Model J was commissioned by George Whittell Jr. and a variant was introduced in 1928. It featured a Frank Hershey design and a Murphey of Pasadena constructed body. Duesenberg company only produced about 500 units in 1937 before they went bankrupt because of an internal crisis. Which of course makes the Duesenberg Model J Murphy Body Coupe become very rare and comes with a heavy price tag. A Duesenberg - Model J was auctioned for $10,340,000 in August 2011 in Monterey, California.

Although the Jaguar E-Type Zeros iconic design first launched in September 2017, it made a very public appearance at the royal wedding in May 2018 and Jaguar plan to put the car into production in 2020 and release it to the general public. Experts speculating that it could sell for around $500,000, such a exclusive car is expected to carry a high price tag. It's currently unknown how many of the vehicles will be produced, but Jaguar Classic is already taking orders. Considering how many people watched Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's wedding, the vehicle is sure to be on a lot of wish lists.
Project Gold – officially a 993-generation 911 Turbo S badged ‘Classic Series’ – is a one-off, track-only restomod, in which the bodyshell is the only original part carried over. The rest – some 6500 parts – were made recently by the Porsche Classic division, including its 444bhp twin-turbo 3.6-litre flat six engine, four-wheel drive system and gearbox. Finished in gold paint, the car pays homage to the far more recent 911 Turbo S Exclusive Series, while a black and gold theme runs throughout the car, with black upholstery and gold stitching, and black wheels with gold accents. The car’s chassis number is one on from that of the last 993 Turbo, which was produced in 1998. Only 345 Turbo Ss were originally produced, making Project Gold number 346. It also has a '1 of 1' plaque announcing its one-off status on the interior. It’ll be sold at auction by RM Sotheby’s in October, when it’s expected to achieve a price well in excesss of the £150,000-£340,000 Turbo S examples.

Valencian Ralley Championship - By Car Broker Spain September will see the 4th Rally Xixona as part of the Valencian Rally Championship. It starts on the 21st with an evening stage which begins with the ceremonial start in Xixona and covers 6.6kms ending in Berlubia. A short stage, but combine the winding roads with the element of darkness and it becomes quite a challenge. The second and most grueling day will have competitors driving for almost 12 hours in total, and covering nearly 393kms including the challenging section “Monnegre”, which has hair-pin bends, climbs and descents. Entrants range from National level R5, F2000 & group N to Historic Legend Speed and Regularity Speed Control rally. This year, alongside the famous Spanish Goalkeeper Santiago Cañizares, and time served veterans such as Pepe Santamaria and Gareth Turgoose, Andrew and Amanda Stephenson of Car Broker Spain, Benijofar, will be making their debut in a 1995 Subaru Impreza 555 group A replica. It has taken Car Broker Spain and their team 18 months to prepare the car themselves, and whilst being under no illusion of making any great impact on the Spanish national rally scene, they are very excited to be making a dream come true.Andy and Mandy would like to thank all of their sponsors ( Yet to be announced ) and friends for their valuable support and enthusiasm. BEGINNINGS AND ENDINGS "As one door closes, another one opens..." We’ve all heard the old adage, but do we really believe it? Well, since an incident 18 years ago when Colonel Blimp drove his Ford Escort into my motorcycle at over 70mph; I very much believe it!
Spain is a hugely diverse country with mainland Europe’s only desert and mountain ranges to rival the mighty Alps in their beauty! I´ve been lucky enough to explore this magnificent Peninsula in the best way possible..from the seat of a motorcycle! Since the beginning of 2013 I’ve also been able to share some of my adventures with you the readers. It was my Birthday recently and, as we have done every year since my recovery/return to motorcycling, my long suffering pillion (and wife! lol!) headed out to "Ride a New Road". It´s become kind of symbolic, new roads, new beginnings, etc. But I have to admit, it´s getting harder every year, because the roads we haven’t already ridden become further away from home each time. Lol!
Since being asked to write this column, I have written almost 70 articles, from beginning to end. But now I feel the time is right for another new beginning again. An End of me, so we can have a new Beginning of someone else; if you see what I mean? So, there it is. This is my last monthly article for the foreseeable future. I´m sure someone new will come forward and "fill the void"; with their own distinct style and approach. It just remains for me to quote Douglas Adams "So long and thanks for all the fish". It was the END of that particular Bike Ride! But it led to a Ride in a helicopter! LOL! OK, so I couldn´t see much strapped to a spinal board and it ended quickly at the specialist A&E. But that led to me meeting lots of interesting people; nurses, Doctors, Surgeons, Rehab Physiotherapists, fellow patients and Lawyers. LOTS of Lawyers!! LOL! Oh yes, lots of endings and beginnings.

THE MOTORSPORT MONTH F1 Vettel controls Spa to take Belgian GP victory As the lights went out, Hamilton had a solid start from pole, but had to go left to defend first place from Vettel who started from 2nd and seemed to have an even better getaway. Ocon and Perez stayed behind, followed by Verstappen, Grosjean and Magnussen. Meanwhile, Ricciardo got involved in an accident that saw him lose his rear wing and bump into the right rear tyre of Raikkonen. The latter had a puncture, forcing him into the pits with a change to medium tyres. Ricciardo on the other hand pitted as well, but mechanics needed some time before his car was repaired. Ricciardo came back out on track 2 laps down on the leader. Totally seperate, Bottas ran into the back of a Williams as he was surprised by the latter braking early for Turn 1. The major incident was however when Hulkenberg braked too late and ran into the back of Alonso. This pushed the McLaren driver onto the rear of Leclerc, sending him up into the air and badly damaging the McLaren car. This immediately caused a DNF for the three men involved, with a Safety Car coming on track for the next 4 laps. Just before bringing the SC out on track, Vettel passed Hamilton for the lead on the Kemmel Straight with amazing ease, having enjoyed a much faster exit out of the Raidillon than Hamilton. Both Racing Point Force India cars even seemed to change the same position, but as they braked earlier, the retained third and fourth, albeing with Perez ahead of Ocon. As soon as the race got restarted, Verstappen put on a challenge to Ocon and soon passed him to take fourth position. The Dutchman went on to pass Perez for third 3 laps later, much to the enjoyment of the numerous Dutch fans. On lap 7, Raikkonen pitted to try to get DRS fixed, but was back in the pits just one lap later. This time, it was to retire from the race. The Finn initially asked his team to check the stats and the tyres, because "something is not right", before reporting "oh, but DRS is open on the straight and I didn't push it. No wonder I have no rear end. It's open all the time". Bottas had improved to 8th while Gasly and Ericsson completed the top 10.

At the end of lap 20, Hamilton was the first to pit, changing his set of supersofts to yellow-marked soft tyres. Hamilton returned back out on track in third position, 1.8s down on Verstappen. The move was quickly replied by pitting Vettel as Hamilton was blisteringly quick on his new softs. In fact, when Vettel returned out on track, Hamiton chased Verstappen and then passed him on the Kemmel Straight, positioning himself into second again, this time just 1.7s down on the leading Ferrari. Meanwhile, others stopped too while Bottas had a long first stint until switching to softs 15 laps from the end. Pitting from fourth, he returned to the track 3s down on Ocon, and ahead of both Haas cars. On lap 32, the Finn passed Ocon to take 5th. This left him 6s down on Perez, a gap he tackled fiercely with some fastest laps and generally a stronger pace than the Racing Point Force India of Perez. On lap 40, Bottas breezed past the pink car of Perez to take 4th, positioning Mercedes for a solid result. Vettel though was out of reach, and went on to victory with an advantage of around 10s over Hamilton who finished 2nd with Max completing the podium in 3rd place. Lance Stroll's father, Lawrence, recently cancelled plans with Williams and essentially saved Force India F1 team from administration, with the help of his consortium. Well, now it looks like Lance is on his way there as well, after the young Canadian revealed that he's on standby for Force India.This could mean there will be 3 or maybe 4 seatchanges in F1 mid season this year and maybe a return of Robert Kubica in F1 as a racer. Alonso has announced that he will not drive in F1 in 2019,a great loss for the sport and McLaren has signed up Sainz for the 2019 season. Ricciardo made a shock announcement as he leaves Red Bull at the end of the season to join Renault.Pierre Gasley has been promoted to Rics seat to join Max at Red Bull for the 2019 season.
ANDREA Dovizioso withstood a three-bike scrap to claim his victory . Dovizioso fought off teammate Jorge Lorenzo and Marc Marquez to win in his 100th race for Ducati, his first victory since the season-opener in Qatar five months ago. Jorge Lorenzo beats Marc Marquez in classic duel to win Grand Prix of Austria. THE Red Bull Ring has turned on yet another last-lap thriller, Jorge Lorenzo outfoxing Marc Marquez to win the Grand Prix of Austria.The Ducati and Honda riders traded the lead multiple times in the closing laps, Lorenzo beating Marquez to the flag by just over a tenth of a second.Czech Republic GP winner Andrea Dovizioso came home third, as his teammate upheld Ducati’s perfect winning record at the Austrian circuit. British GP Cancelled Due to Heavy Rain The 2018 GoPro British Grand Prix has been cancelled after persistent heavy rain throughout the day left the track unsuitable for racing. Rain had started to fall shortly after this morning’s MotoGP warm-up and after a series of delays, the decision was finally made shortly after 16:00 local time to cancel all three races, as well as the British Talent Cup. WRC After tight competition in the first two days, Ott Tanak went on to win his second successive WRC round in Germany and the first asphalt event win for the current Toyota's team. Despite an otherwise lacklustre event at Rallye Deutschland, eventual second placed Thierry Neuville moved two points further ahead of Sebastien Ogier in the FIA World Rally Drivers Championship. A late-event retirement sidelined third placed Jari-Matti Latvala but this was taken by his Toyota teammate Esapekka Lappi. Like in Finland it was another good rally for Toyota and Hyundai, and disappointment for M-Sport and Citroen. There was a remarkable fourth WRC2 win this year for Jan Kopecky who fought back after a puncture dropped him to eighth in the category which puts the Czech driver in the lead of the WRC2 series.
