With Clare Lawrence Massimo Roccoli was born on the 27th of November, to parents Gabriel and Rita, in 1984 in Rimini, Italy. He lives in Villa Verucchio, Italy. He has been into bikes ever since he was a little boy of four, when he was given a mini bike by his parents, and he’s never looked back. Massimo won the championship in 1999 and he has won many Italian titles since; he won the 2006, 2007 and 2008 Italian Supersport Championship, three years consecutively and now he is always in the top ten (and also in the top five) of the Supersport World Championship!

Do you set goals for yourself to achieve? This life is full of goals, and I plan some of them.

What has been the greatest time for you in your racing career?
Many thanks for accepting this offer of an interview… How is racing for you at the moment? The season started with some difficulty, but I am confident in the work that we are doing inside the time that we have... In all the races, I was fighting for the top 5, but in Australia I had the problem with the rear tyre, in Misano I had to stop for a technical problem, in Aragon it was good fighting with Salom for the podium and in Brno I crashed and restarted to arrive in 15th position! Do you remember your first mini bike at the age of four? Yes of course, because that bike was a Christmas present!! And the first lap I did with that bike was from the living room to bedroom!

What do you love the most about racing?

What I love about racing is: the sound of the engine, the girls in the paddock :-), the bike is my life!
For sure 2006 when I won the first race in the world championship, and when I won the Italian championship 3 times …

How do you deal with all the media attention that you get?
Are there any other fast sports that you like? Motocross, mtb (mountain biking), snowboarding, Jet Skiing, skydiving... all the extreme sports!

For me the most interesting hobby is to work with my Dad.

Where do you like to go or what do you do to unwind and relax?
I’m not Valentino Rossi :-) So it's very easy to manage this! Is there a place that you like to go back to many times for holidays? Not yet, because on my holidays usually I like to visit new places! I live in Rimini; it’s a nice place… Why would I have to go out? What is your favourite place to race? Phillip island because I love Australia… but my favourite tracks are Aragon and Brands Hatch.
