The International Association of Registered Financial Consultants (IARFC®) is a non-profit professional association formed to foster public confidence in the financial services profession, to help financial consultants exchange planning techniques, and to recognize practitioners who are truly committed to ethical standards and continuous professional education. It is composed of over 3,500 individual members both domestic and international. The Association was organized in 1984.
The IARFC administers the Registered Financial Associate (RFA®) designation, Registered Financial Consultant (RFC®) designation, and the Master Registered Financial Consultant credential (MRFC®).
About Our Members
IARFC members range in age from graduating seniors in a university driven financial services program who have participated in the IARFC National Plan Competition to retired member consultants in their. The bulk of the age demographics is in line with national industry standards for financial professionals.
The experience representative of our membership base covers those who are starting out with the RFA® designation (less than 3 years) to consultants who have over 30 years experience as financial experts. The Association has individuals who have been involved since the beginning of the IARFC - thus celebrating many years of IARFC benefits.

Registration is not considered complete until receipt of payment with the form. Cancellation after March 1, 2025 will be subject to a fee of 50 percent (50%) of the Exhibit/Sponsors registration. Cancellation must be submitted in writing to the International Association of Registered Financial Consultants (IARFC®). No refunds for exhibit space will be granted for cancellations made after March 15, 2025. Experience and Judge the Finals of the IARFC National Financial Plan Competition During the IARFC Financial Forum
The IARFC feels strongly that to support the next generation is a must in helping new consultants get started. We offer to universities and their undergraduates in a financial services curriculum, a chance to get real-world experience by crafting a financial plan from a fictional family case scenario created by an experienced professional. Students then develop a financial plan for the family’s future financial independence.
Student Teams compete through 3 phases of the competition to ultimately end up presenting their recommendations in person at the IARFC Financial Forum. More than figuring out the dollars and cents, the teams learn presentation skills and actually network with experienced consultants. Feedback over the years from participants indicate they up their game through the process of the Competition.

Adjunct Professor Dave Ragan, RFC ®
A s an adjunct professor of finance at the University of North Texas (UNT), I'm thrilled to share that Elizabeth Bedunah recently took home the top prize at the IARFC National Financial Plan Competition!
This prestigious event places undergraduate financial planning students to the test, and this year, the UNT’s team truly shined, especially considering Elizabeth was a team of one!
For everyone’s final project, my class broke off into groups, or had the option of working it solo. They analyzed the family’s budget, assessed their retirement needs, and explored various investment options. The final product allowed the students to make recommendations then those recommendations needed to be substantiated during the live presentation.
Witnessing Elizabeth transform raw data, represented by a 5-6 page case study, into a comprehensive financial plan was incredibly rewarding. Her hard work and dedication really paid off when she was selected as finalists to present their plan at the IARFC Forum. Her ability to answer complex questions from the couple and confidently explain her recommendations demonstrated the depth of her understanding.
Ultimately, her hard work was recognized, and Elizabeth was declared the winner! This victory is a testament to the exceptional caliber of our Financial Planning Program, lead by Mark Evers, and the dedication of our students. It's also a win for the IARFC competition, which provides an exceptional platform for preparing future financial consultants.
