• Founded by Jane Goodall in 1977 – A global nonprofit organization – Over 20 offices around the world – Empowers people to make a difference for all living things • The Institute & its members seek to: – Increase primate habitat conservation – Increase awareness of, support for and training related to our relationship with each other, the environment and other animals – Expand non-invasive research programs on primates – Promote activities that ensure the well-being of primates and animal welfare activities in general

• How does it work – Register at www.rootsandshoots.org – Get immediate access to online tools and resources –project database, handbooks, library, blog, eNewsletter – Plan and execute at least 3 projects per year that show concern in three areas: people, animals and the environment. – Share your project results and become eligible for a Certificate of Recognition – Connect with a global network of likeminded individuals
