Someone is Watching You (1 Peter 2:11-12)
1 Peter 2:11-12 Beloved, I urge you as sojourners and exiles to abstain from the passions of the flesh, which wage war against your soul. 11
Keep your conduct among the Gentiles honorable, so that when they speak against you as evildoers, they may see your good deeds and glorify God on the day of visitation. 12
Someone is Watching You 1 Peter 2:11-12
I. The Battle in our Private Lives (v11)  Command: - Abstain from passions of the flesh (1 Pet 2:11, Gal 5:19-21)
Galatians 5:19-21 Now the works of the flesh are evident: sexual immorality, impurity, sensuality, idolatry, sorcery, enmity, strife, jealousy, fits of anger, rivalries, dissensions, divisions, envy, drunkenness, orgies, and things like these.

1 Peter 1:1 Peter, an apostle of Jesus Christ, To those who are elect exiles of the dispersion in Pontus, Galatia, Cappadocia, Asia, and Bithynia
Someone is Watching You (1 Peter 2:11-12)
I. The Battle in our Private Lives (v11) Command: - Abstain from flesh (1 Pet 2:11, Gal 5:19-21)
Two Reasons - Our Identity as Beloved of the Lord & as Aliens (1 Pet 1:1) - Result of not obeying command:
Present miseries Eternal damnation, “... will not inherit the kingdom of God.” (Gal 5:21) as these passions wage wars against the soul.
Galatians 5:19-21 Now the works of the flesh are evident: sexual immorality, impurity, sensuality, idolatry, sorcery, enmity, strife, jealousy, fits of anger, rivalries, dissensions, divisions, envy, drunkenness, orgies, and things like these. I warn you, as I warned you before, that those who do such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.

There is Hope: When we repent, He saves/rescues us & helps us abstain from passions of the flesh it’s possible to live holy lives. How? Put on Christ (Rom 13:14) Walk by the Spirit (Gal 5:16)
Romans 13:14 Put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh, to gratify its desires.
Galatians 5:16 But I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh.

II. The Effect of our Public Conduct (v12) Command: - Keep conduct honorable Situations: - Even when spoken against as evil (for living holy lives) - So non-believers see your good works Reason - Glorify God

- Abstain from flesh - Because of Identity as Beloved of the Lord & as Aliens - Result of not obeying command is damnation
II. The Effect of our Public Conduct (v12) -
Keep conduct honorable Even when spoken against as eveil (for living holy lives) So the world (non-believers) can see your good deeds And glorify God
