I
t is officially wedding season and the CONFETI team is unsurprisingly very excited about embarking on the next couple of months. Runway Report As media partner for White Gallery London, Features Editor Amber O’Shaughnessy attended the bridal trade exhibition in April on behalf of Confeti magazine. Five years in the making, White Gallery London has become the most significant platform for acclaimed designers – those whose influence in the bridal market is unquestioned. 18 CONFETI
The 2014 show encompassed more than 70 international designer labels, including the UK’s finest talent in the bridal industry, who came together for this stunning show of luxury collections that attract the world’s most discerning buyers and press. The trade show took place over three days and featured six catwalk shows. Here, Amber gives a full round up of all the runway action straight from the front row, including key bridal trends for 2014.
Opening the White Gallery London catwalk line-up this season and a new name at the show this year, Lark Bridal hosted a couture catwalk show featuring new collection gowns by US awardwinning designer COCOE VOCI, US vintage-inspired designer Stephanie James and Irish-based designer

The colour palette featured pastel hues in blush pink, pale blue, pale lilac and taupe as well as honey, ivory and gold.

Emerging Talent
in Bridal Design Alongside the established designers at White Gallery London 2014, there was also a focus on new talents that are tipped to take the industry by storm. Confeti had the privilege of viewing the latest collections by these gifted designers.
House of Mooshki is a bespoke wedding dress company specialising in custom designed wedding dresses and bridal gowns from vintage through to gothic. Based in the North East of England but offering a national and international service with brides across the globe, House of Mooshki is one to watch. Mooshki showcased its Autumn/Winter 2014 collection at White Gallery London. The collection is based on the elegance of women of the late 50s and early 60s. While retaining signature flirty tea lengths and out of this world ball gowns, they heavily feature another trend in this collection - striking pencil skirt dresses with big statement detachable trains. Guipure and French laces dyed by hand are found adorning sheer backs and arms. All of this comes with a Mooshki twist of blush and champagne.

Juliette - A short fitted pencil wedding dress with sheer illusion back and shoulders, fitted lace sleeves with scalloped edging running around the bust and off the shoulders, creating a plummeting V-back overlay; finished with tiny buttons running the length of the back. Evie - Layers upon layers of champagne tulle create a tier effect. Cute yet elegant, Evie consists of champagne satin overlaid in champagne tulle and hand-dyed guipure lace. A completely sheer back is finished with champagne buttons, hand-dyed lace climbs the sides of the back, the bodice and the cap sleeves, cascading onto the tiered skirt and finally finishing the hem edgae. Ava - The ultimate in fairytale ball gowns; antique spot tulle and detailed guipure lace add a romantic touch. A full antique spot tulle ball gown skirt overlaid with a deep guipure lace edge. Miranda Templeton Of course White Gallery also provides a platform for elements of bridal wear aside from the dress and Miranda Templeton – a new bridal accessories label – gained a lot of attention throughout the three days of the show. Miranda Templeton was formed in 2011 and supplies exquisite, handmade accessories to bridal boutiques throughout the UK, Ireland and, more recently, Europe. Beginning with tiaras, headdresses and combs, the brand has grown to encompass jewellery, sashes, pins and garters and continues to expand with each passing season.
Farleigh Bohemian Garden
My Top Pick Miranda Templeton Accessories Lypiatt-Bohemian Garden Osbourne-Bohemian Garden
Antique Trousseau features intricately handcrafted pieces with heirloom sensibilities - think Grandma’s lace gloves and antique beaded purses. The collection draws on elements of beading and brocade and introduces an innovative metal fibre yarn from Italy into some of the key pieces. Bohemian Garden encompasses organic designs with a distinctly rustic feel - think country chic and hazy summer days alongside relaxed festival glamour. The collection is scattered with sequins, delicate leaves and an abundance of tiny pearls. Finally Deco Decadence favours stylised sunburst and fan motifs with a luxurious, opulent quality - think clean geometric lines accented with sumptuous feathers and lavish diamante.
The 2015 Pemberton Collection consists of three capsule collections, which effectively sum up the major trends in the coming season’s accessories.

Sasso Sasso was another relatively new bridal label to enter the scene and cause quite a stir at White Gallery London. Even the Ian Stuart bought pieces from the Sasso collection for his new flagship bridal store in London Victoria. Creative Directors Elaine and Katie spoke to Confeti about the birth of the Sasso brand: “Sasso began with just four classic marabou pieces in ivory. We then became more daring, introducing ostrich feathers and two-toned feathers as well as some colour - soft shades such as antique rose, pearl, oyster, coral, chocolate and muted tones of grey to the expensive looking stone and vintage cream. This really added a new depth to Sasso. “When the collection was complete we wanted to introduce small caps of lace and hand made veiling to compliment the feathers. We used gorgeous beaded lace and pearl and diamanté caps. We also added gloves which we design in order to present a complete look for our Sasso Bride.”

he ‘Grecian Goddess’ is hailed as one of fashion’s classic looks and has clearly had a profound influence on the Parthenis brand. Since taking over the label from her father, Greek-born Orsalia Parthenis has created one-of-a-kind bridal gowns, which channel simplicity and an easy living ethos. Here CONFETI offers some background on the brand and images from the latest collection. Dimitris Parthenis opened his first store in Athens in 1970 and his second in Mykonos in 1978. stone to international fame. Overseas interest in his creations ultimately resulted in the opening of flagship stores in Brussels and Los Angeles. In the mid 1980s the Parthenis brand was a leader in the Greek market and the designer was considered an innovator in his field. Today the Parthenis look is still timeless and simple, having retained its unisex, easy living Greek aesthetic. Orsalia Parthenis has continued her father’s tradition of chic sportif, which evokes a bohemian mood. Using natural fibres, wool, silk and cotton to create a relaxed silhouette which hugs the body,
the Parthenis line is constantly remastered while remaining true to its essence. The Parthenis Bridal Collection is typical of this company’s core philosophy. These dresses are designed to permit the bride to stand out and be striking without overwhelming her unique personality. Most of the dresses are made of silk jersey and can be worn in various ways, allowing the bride to wear them according to her mood, even change her look during the course of her special day. Also available in various colours, they can be worn as evening dresses. Orsalia-parthenis.gr

Emma Hunt LO N D ON Interview by Amber O’Shaughnessy
White Gallery 2014 was a particularly exciting event for British bridal designer Emma Hunt. Although a first timer at the trade show, Emma and her creative team used the opportunity to host their own catwalk show as well as present the inaugural Echo diffusion collection. Bridal trends in 2015 will centre
on more demure styles, with higher necklines. Elegant longer sleeves, which are key to understated style, will also be very popular. Soft, fluid shapes in wonderfully luxurious fabrics are the new definition of bridal elegance. White Gallery London was our first ever time exhibiting as we have newly moved into retail. Our collections had a wonderful reception, which made all the hard work worthwhile. It was also fabulous to host our first ever, solo catwalk presentation, which was both nerve-wracking and exhilarating.

o tie in with the theme of the bridal fashion shoot, I needed to create a look that took inspiration from Moroccan makeup but could still be worn on a wedding day. When it comes to Arabic makeup, more is more. It is all about dramatic femininity. The Arabic look focuses on clean lines, making sharp pencils and edged brushes must-haves. Think well groomed brows and strongly lined and shadowed eyes. For bridal occasions I would recommend sticking with the classic look using brown or black - it will give you the smouldering look you are after and make the colour of your eyes pop. I decided to go with a palette of golds (think Moroccan deserts), bronze and shimmery brown. To top it all off I wanted to create strong brows. For this kind of look you want to have a relatively sharp arch to draw attention to your eyes. With eyebrows there is only so much that makeup can do, so I would highly recommend getting your brows professionally shaped before your brig day. Since I would be focusing so much attention on the eyes, the skin needed to be natural and sun kissed. Caked on foundation would have made the finished job look like stage makeup. Finally, while most Moroccan women will complete their makeup session with a bold, deep colour lip hue, I think this is a little too dramatic for a bride, so I opted for a nude glossy lip. Here is my step-by-step guide so you can recreate it.
Step 1 To prep the skin, cleanse with Bioderma Sensibio H2O, an ultra-mild, non-rinse micellar water cleanser, which is incredibly cooling and perfect for a 54 CONFETI

Next tone with Dr Haushka Facial Toner before applying Dermalogica Multivitamin Power Recovery Masque (a favourite of Mrs Beckham’s); this powerful calming masque of concentrated vitamins and botanicals soothes stressed skin, helping to reduce redness and restore suppleness. Finish off by massaging in Embyolisse’s Lait-Creme Concentre to leave the complexion soft, dewy and perfectly prepped for make-up.
Step 2 Using a foundation brush layer on MAC Strobe Cream for added luminosity. Next, move onto the brows. As we are creating strong, defined arches to frame the eyes, I used a slanted eyebrow brush to apply Anastasia Beverly Hills DipBrow Pomade, an easy-to-use, long lasting answer to eyebrow perfection. This tinted, creamy formula is waterproof, smudgeproof and ideal for creating
defined, natural looking brows that won’t melt in a hot climate.
Step 3 Dab Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion5 all over the lids to keep everything in place. Next, using a cream shadow brush, pat Chanel Illusion D’Ombre in Initiation all over the lid to just above the crease. Buff this out and then, using the same brush, apply Bobbi Brown Long-Wear

5 Cream Shadow in Beach Bronze6 over the lid. The shimmer from the Chanel shadow should still shine through. Work Chanel Illusion D’Ombre in Fatal into the crease and the outer corner of the eye, winging it out slightly. Finally apply a tiny amount of MAC Pigment ‘Vanilla’ in the inner corner of the eye to brighten the area and pull the eyes apart. Highlight under the brow bone with the same shade – and blend, blend, blend.
To diminish under-eye shadows work Clinique Airbrush Concealer2 onto any dark areas, then set with Purely Cosmetics Diamond Perfect Finish Powder, a patented diamond complex that creates a flawless finish by bending and refracting light to reduce the visibility of imperfections.
Line the lower rim with Dior Crayon Eyeliner – Waterproof in ‘Intense Brown. Really work this into the lower lashes with a smudger brush. Just under this line apply Urban Decay Snakebite shadow to build up the gold effect. With a flat liner brush apply MAC Pigment ‘Vanilla’ to the inner rim. This will be picked up beautifully on camera.

With a Beauty Blender Sponge apply Face Atelier Ultra Foundation, which creates a lightweight, but highly pigmented coverage that diminishes the appearance of fine lines, for a smoother, more uniform skin texture. Next conceal any remaining imperfections with Chanel Correcteur Perfection.
Line lips, define and accentuate with Nudestix Lip Pencil1 in Whisper. Using a lip brush apply MAC Lipglass in Clear for a high gloss finish. Spray to set makeup with SKINDINAVIA The Original Makeup Finishing Spray. This baby will make sure your makeup doesn’t budge all day and night.

For the evening look I added golden face jewellery from Golden Tarts around the eyes and deepened the lip hue with Nudestix Lip Pencil1 in Mystic.
Step 6 Using a slanted face brush, work MAC Trace Gold, a sheer shimmertone blush under the cheekbones. If you want to create a deeper contoured effect, use Bobbi Brown Bronzer3 in Medium. Next, using a sponge, dab Benefit Sunbeam4, a golden highlighter on the places that would naturally catch the light; top of the cheek bones, bridge of the nose, cupid’s bow. Finish this with a dusting of Purely Cosmetics Diamond Perfect Finish Powder along the t-zone.

The little extras To make sure the brows were the perfect shape before I attempted to apply any makeup, I booked the model in to Golden Tarts to have her eyebrows professionally tinted and threaded. or even any past moments that have made her feel happy or content. All of this gives me an insight into the style of cake my client would prefer. If the couple sends me a photograph of another cake design they have seen and particularly liked, I take inspiration from this but always endeavour to create my own unique version. I think it is important that the cake is bespoke to the bride and groom and not a re-creation of somebody else’s dream design.
By Jasmin McNiven
I
designed this cake with the Moroccan style of the venue in mind; I wanted the finished cake to complement the theme of the fashion shoot but equally I like to keep all of my cake designs simple with a modern, contemporary twist. For me, overly fussy cakes never look as striking. The cake was a three-tiered classic design featuring typically

Moorish colours and patterns around each of the layers. The cake’s interior consisted of a coconut sponge with lime filling and dark chocolate ganache. I often work with chocolate ganache because it gives the wedding cake stability, which is crucial if the bride has requested a buttercream filling. Obviously, cake makers along the Coast are frequently working in very warm temperatures so it is of paramount
importance to ensure the tiered cake has a strong structural support to avoid collapse! Of course, often I don’t get as specific a brief as the one given to me for the Mosaik fashion shoot, but that is never a problem. I ask the bride to send me any hints of her style and preferences, requesting photos of her wedding dress, a description of the wedding colour scheme
I then send lots of hand drawn sketches of prospective cakes from which the bridal couple can choose their favourite. These preliminary stages are always a case of sending emails backwards and forwards until we get it exactly right. For my clients, this will be one of the biggest days of their lives so the cake has to be absolute perfection. Marbella Cake Design Tel. +34 634 302 514 marbellacakedesign.com

Sweet Things by Fi’s attention to detail is expertly displayed, with each rose petal shaped to perfection. The colour combination is stunning, with light rose hues and glints of gold shimmering against the cream backdrop of the cake. The detailing is illuminated by the use of edible gold leaf which contributes to this cake’s impressive glow. “The bride wanted to combine ruffles and a cascade of roses, so the top tiers had a roses cascade with gold leaves and the bottom tiers had peach ombre ruffles”. ESTEE LAUDER Double Wear Stay-in-Place Flawless Wear Concealer Nicola: I was expecting this concealer to be a thick, heavy-duty formula, yet I was pleasantly surprised; it’s light and creamy and easy to apply by just dotting a tiny amount of product on with the wand and patting in with your fingertips. Transfer-resistant, colour-true formula provides medium buildable coverage that won’t slip, slide or melt away.
Shelly: I’m always on the look-out for a heavy duty concealer that can cope with dark spots and broken veins, especially around the nose. I find most either lack the coverage, or the staying power, or both. This concealer effortlessly blots out annoying things like freckles, under-eye shadows and hyperpigmentation, without being obvious. It blends easily and seamlessly into make-up free skin and, crucially, it stays put.
VERA MONA Colour Switch Duo Nicola: The majority of us don’t have hundreds of makeup brushes at our disposal, and if you are creating a multi-toned eye look, who has the time or patience to clean their brushes in between colours? Colour Switch by Vera Mona is an amazing new cosmetic tool that allows you to clean your makeup brushes without having to use a liquid cleanser. With only a few strokes the brushes are clean and are ready to be used again and it doesn’t stop there; the Duo’s uniquely designed centre sponge enhances the colour of the eye shadow when applied wet, resulting in a more vibrant hue. Molly: Colour Switch Duo works brilliantly and it’s a perfect eyeshadow tool for a makeup artist or for somebody who really likes to play around with eyeshadows. It is so useful and handy I use it every single time I do my eye makeup!

HOW TO BE
Bikini Beautiful FOR YOUR HONEYMOON Want a sexy, toned bikini body ready for your honeymoon - but hate the gym? Check out our anti-gym bunny guide. If you are new to exercise or embarrassed to work out in front of strangers, the gym can be an intimidating place; for others the price of gym membership is costly. However there are plenty of alternatives, which are adventurous, fun, sociable, low cost and provide a great body workout.
ROCK CLIMBING Outside pursuits offer a great way to get trim and have fun. Whether you take part in solo activities or team up with mates, you can benefit from a first-class cardiovascular workout, which will help you burn fat and lose pounds. Why not try rock climbing? The sport requires physical strength and endurance. The basic aim is successfully to climb up a mountain, hill, steep terrain, or artificial wall. Although this can be a risky sport, the satisfaction from completing a climb is extremely rewarding, offering constant excitement and a huge adrenaline rush. There is also no need to begin on the most dangerous mountain - there are many places where you can climb artificial walls until you are ready to explore new things. Rock climbing delivers a great cardiovascular workout, which will help you burn fat. Before embarking on a climb you will be required to take part in a pre-climb workout and activities to help build your endurance and technique. Rock climbing is never boring and has a huge following.

SALSA Whether solo or with a mate, salsa is an enjoyable way to get fit and learn some impressive dance moves. Salsa is an energetic exercise and no previous dancing experience is needed. Be prepared to lose yourself to the Latin rhythm and sway your hips to the beat. According to Campaign for Learning, Salsa is a great way to build stamina, enhance coordination and improve flexibility. Dancing also improves the circulation and performance of the heart and lungs and releases endorphins, giving a pleasant high. Salsa is a great fat burner, too: you can burn up to 370 calories during a one-hour salsa class. CYCLING Cycling provides an effective aerobic workout, providing noticeable improvements to lung and heart function. Other benefits include weight loss, increased strength and major improvement to co-ordination. A report by NHS Direct found that cycling can improve mood, reduce levels of depression and stress, raise self-esteem, and relieve pre-menstrual symptoms.
Not only will you save on transport fares, petrol costs and carbon emissions, but you’ll be able to fit in your daily exercise without taking too much out of your day.
Cycling is well known as a great total body workout and US studies carried out by the University of Illinois claim it can help raise your immunity, along with improving cardiovascular and muscular fitness
SIT UPS, PRESS UPS AND SQUATS Traditional circuit exercises are a great way to develop muscle fibres and achieve a toned physique.
These are easy to practise at home and several repetitions on a regular basis will improve your core stability and fitness. Sit ups, press ups and squats work a range of major muscles, including the glutens (bum), hamstrings, abdominals and lower-back muscles. They can help increase flexibility and burn a lot of calories. HAVING SEX Surprisingly, getting intimate can burn a decent amount of calories. Sexual activity can improve your overall fitness and performance in bed. Just kissing for 15 minutes burns around 30 calories as does 30 minutes of foreplay and a whopping 60 calories can be burnt with just 20 minutes of sex. Researchers at Duke University Medical Center suggest that overweight adults who lose only 10 per cent of their total body weight report significant improvements in their sexual quality of life. Dare to be Different! Humanist Wedding Celebrant and CONFETI contributor Natasha Johnson shows how you can break the rules to bring a spirit of fun to your big day
1 Walk down the aisle with
your mum and dad
Why not make a head-turning entrance by proudly showing off both your mum and dad as you walk down the aisle, or two of your nearest and dearest relatives or friends? Tradition dictates that it should be the father of the bride’s role, based on the idea that the father is the head of the household, but for those who want to challenge traditions and inject a more modernistic approach by honouring their mothers as well as fathers, this could the new trend to launch your celebrations.

Wedding Day
hat better time to break the rules and kick-start new trends than at your own wedding? More and more couples are using their nuptials as the perfect
opportunity to be daring and to do something different. With weddings being an expression of love, not just for your spouse to-be but also for all your family and friends, there are many
ways that you can show your appreciation of them throughout your ceremony, right through to the reception and party!
As a wedding is all about the union of two individuals and their families, this new trend of getting your guests to sit wherever they like during the ceremony, rather than in a designated place, is fast becoming a popular one. Traditionally, the bride’s family and friends sit on the left and the groom’s on the right. However, these days friends are often mutual and family is a varied and multi-layered concept, so it doesn’t always make sense to stick to the traditional idea, which sees people being divided instead of being united. Of course, family members can still be honoured by sitting in the rows closest to the bride and groom, but in order to achieve that feeling of unity, mixing everyone up and getting everyone acquainted is the perfect way to start.
3 Pass around your
wedding rings
There is no better way to ensure that your guests truly feel a part of your ceremony than CONFETI 67
by allowing them to hold your rings during the ceremony. The passing rings ritual allows each of your guests to give their blessings and good wishes to you by holding on to your rings for a few seconds before passing them on to the next guest. It really creates a special feeling amongst your family and friends, knowing that they have had the chance to bless your marriage. Add an additional special touch by requesting some background music - your favourite song or something that means a lot to you. This also adds to the occasion, making it specific to you.
4 Have a sing-a-long If you are having a church ceremony, your ‘sing-a-long,’ is more traditionally known as a hymn. However, even if you are not having a church ceremony, there is no reason that you cannot include songs and music throughout your ceremony. Singing a favourite song with your guests is a great way to include everyone. It makes your ceremony more upbeat and is a fantastic way to add some fun into the ceremony. Popular songs have included the Beatles’ All You Need is Love and Here Comes the Sun, or classics such as Dean Martin’s That’s Amore. It does not matter if your song is sung slightly out of tune, if a few beats are missed here and there, or if one of your guests thinks she is Beyoncé; it all adds to the fun spirit of the ceremony and sets the tone for the rest of the day.
5 Get your wedding
party to learn a dance Why not extract the pressure from your first dance by getting your wedding party (bridesmaids, ushers, best man etc.) to learn a dance, which they will perform to you and the other guests? This year, Pharrell Wiliam’s chart topping hit Happy is already strongly featuring on couples’ wedding days, whether as a processional song or as a dance floor filler. A group dance is, without doubt, a fantastic way to get the party started and to step the proceedings up a gear. Its contagious enthusiasm
68 CONFETI
is certainly a sure way to get everyone else onto the dance floor, too.
6Vocal brides and
mystery speakers
Sometimes we have to ask ourselves, why is it that tradition dictates that brides should not have a chance to poke fun at the groom or to tell the world how wonderful he is? Well, this could be your chance to change all that. More and more brides are stepping up to the mic and speaking up, rather than being a silent participant in her husband’s, best man’s and father’s speeches. Of course, public speaking may not inspire everyone and some brides may feel nothing but relief at being allowed to remain mute, but for those who fancy their chances - what is stopping you? Stand up and sing your man’s praises – or not! Another new trend is for the bride and groom to place all of their guests’ names into a hat and, during the course of the dinner, to draw out random names. Each named guest has to stand and say a few impromptu words about the couple. This can be great fun and is another way to allow your friends and family truly to participate in your big day.
7Wow everyone with
a magician/ kids’ entertainer
Children and adults alike can marvel at the wonders of a professional magician, which makes the perfect complement
to a wedding reception. Not only is it a nice touch, but it’s also a great way to keep your day flowing and help with the transition of certain elements of the day, such as from the ceremony to the cocktail/canapé hour. An entertainer for smaller children, such as balloon artists and comedy performers, can help to keep the little ones entertained and allows the grown ups to use this time to enjoy other activities.
8 Have an ice cream
ruck or candy bar
your formal photos, why not add some fun and frolics to the proceedings by inviting all of your guests to glam up and put on their stupidest face and biggest smiles for the camera. How fantastic it will be to look back on those photos not just after the wedding but in the years to come? Another great idea is to create instant photo guest books. Entrust an usher or brides maid to take Polaroid shots of your guests, get the guests to write their comments into the book and then attach the photo to the page with your guests’ individual comments. It’s as easy as that! And of course, makes a beautiful memento for the future.
There’s nothing like the chance to go a bit retro on your wedding day and all these new fads such as ice-cream vans, candyfloss stands, candy bars and lemonade stands are great for 10 that retro injection. Other trends Add even more Spanishness to include, cigar rolling artisans, your dream Spanish wedding caricaturists, Spanish sherry by hosting a flamenco show. sommeliers and expert waiters Full of colour, culture and who carve and serve jamón passion, your guests will get to Serrano. eing the wife of King Henry VIII of England was a dangerous occupation. But when in 1509 he married his brother’s widow Catherine, the daughter of Fernando and Isabel of Aragon, he was very much the dashing young prince and very much in love. Her previous marriage to Arthur, Prince of Wales, had taken place when both were fifteen years old, but five months after the marriage Arthur died of “the sweating sickness”. Catherine’s dowry was too precious to return to Spain. Following a dispensation granted by the Pope, Catherine and Henry were wed.
70 CONFETI
In 1516, following a number of miscarriages, their only surviving child, Mary, was born. By 1525 Catherine’s childbearing days were over, and Henry wanted an heir. Besides, his eye had fallen on the sister of one of his mistresses, Mary Boleyn. He had
also read the Book of Leviticus, chapter 20 verse 21, which forbade marriage to a brother’s widow. The Pope failed to agree with him, but Henry ordered his chief minister, Cardinal Wolsey, to arrange matters. Clement VII despatched a legate, Cardinal
Campeggio, to oversee the divorce proceedings, with instructions that he should not reach a verdict. In the summer of 1529 Campeggio revoked the
case to Rome. Henry lost his temper. Wolsey was replaced by Thomas Cromwell as chief minister, whilst Thomas Cranmer shortly became Archbishop of Canterbury. The two men set to work, and in 1531 the Convocations of Canterbury and York recognised Henry as head of the Church in England. Two years later, with Anne Boleyn pregnant, Cranmer annulled Henry’s marriage to Catherine. Refusing to the last to be known as Dowager Princess of Wales, Catherine died three years later. Henry and Anne were quietly married on the 25th January, 1533, and in June she was crowned Queen. In September her daughter Elizabeth was born. But in 1534 Anne suffered her first miscarriage. Others followed. On 7th January 1536, on the day of Catherine’s death, she miscarried a deformed male foetus. Henry suffered a crisis of conscience. Was this not a punishment? Anne had the reputation of being an older woman who enjoyed the company of young men. She also disliked Cromwell. Spotting an opportunity, Cromwell produced a list of five men who, he claimed, had had carnal knowledge of the queen. The list included her own brother. After a sham trial the five men were
found guilty and were executed. Cranmer annulled the marriage and Anne herself was executed. Henry’s theological musings had, perhaps, been influenced by the presence at court of one of Anne’s Maids of Honour. When Anne discovered Jane Seymour sitting on the King’s knee, she went ballistic and ordered her to leave the court. Jane remained, but quietly withdrew to her maternal home at Wolf Hall as the plot against Anne thickened. On the morning of Anne’s execution, Henry went hunting. Hearing the boom of a gun, he promptly galloped off to Wolf Hall. He wed Jane the next morning. Later he explained to Parliament that despite two failures he was ready to try again for the good of the nation. Parliament declared both Mary and Elizabeth bastards, and settled the crown upon any issue that Henry and Jane might have. She was never crowned. On the 16th September, 1537, she took to her bed. On the 11th October she went into protracted labour. Henry was asked whether he wanted the mother or the child saved. Henry’s reply was typical. “If you cannot save both, at least let the child live, for other wives are easily found”.
A few hours later Jane gave birth to a Prince, Edward. Henry ordered a state Christening. The ceremony lasted several hours, and by custom the Queen was obliged to attend. The strain was too much, and on the 24th October she breathed her last. Her death “was felt by none in the realm more heavily than by the King’s majesty himself, who retired to Windsor, where he moaned and kept himself alone and secret a great while”. He remained single for two years after Jane’s death, but Cromwell finally persuaded him that an alliance with a Protestant state was required. Agents were sent out. Hans Holbein at the Court of Cleves painted the sister of the Duke. Henry was captivated. But Anne of Cleves was a homely body, and when finally she landed in Rochester, Henry, in his eagerness, burst in upon her unannounced. Frightened, she neither acknowledged him nor curtsied. Henry’s response was swift; “I like her not”. He later called her “The mare of Flanders”. For form’s sake the marriage was celebrated but never consummated, and it was annulled a few weeks later. Anne retired gracefully to Hever Castle, the former home of the Boleyns. She and Henry became friends, and he referred to her as the “King’s beloved
sister”. Cromwell was beheaded for his part in the debâcle. One of Anne’s Ladies-in-Waiting had been the highly spirited Catherine Howard. She was 19. Henry was 49. On the 28th July 1540 Henry married her. She was his “rose without a thorn” and “the very jewel of womanhood”.Unfortunately, she had a voracious sexual appetite which could not be satisfied by the increasingly obese (at his death he weighed 28 stone) and ulcerated King. By November 1541, Cranmer reluctantly informed his sovereign of Jane’s infidelities. She paid the price on Tower Green on February 13th, 1542. When in 1512 one of Catherine of Aragon’s Ladies-in-Waiting gave birth to a daughter she named her Katherine in honour of the Queen. She became a highly intelligent girl, proficient in a number of languages and with a keen interest in the Reformed religion. At the death of her second husband in March 1543, Katherine Parr met Sir Thomas Seymour, the brother of Queen Jane, and fell in love. Before anything much could happen, however, the King asked for her hand in marriage. She accepted from a sense of duty, and the marriage took place in July. She reconciled Henry with his two daughters, and became a friend of his son Edward. When Henry went on his last unsuccessful expedition to France in 1544 she was appointed Regent. She became a widow for the third time when Henry died three years later. With what was regarded as indecent haste, she married Thomas Seymour, and at the age of 36 became pregnant for the first time, and on the morning of August 30th 1548 gave birth to a daughter, Mary. She died from puerperal fever; the only wife of Henry VIII to survive him.

because he loved me and he just wanted to say thank you for being such an amazing girlfriend and so I still had no clue what he was about to do. It was after dinner when Bhavesh suggested that we go for a walk on the beach. As we walked towards the sea, I was holding on to him and walking with precaution as it was dark with only the moonlight to guide us, and the deck that led to the rocks above the shore had large enough gaps for my stilettos to become wedged in! When we arrived at the beach, the moonlight hit the waves that were rolling onto the sand - we just stood there in awe of the scenery. We held each other tight and reminisced about the amazing times we had been through together over all the years we had known each other. He then suddenly said, ‘Can you see that?’ I turned around to see what he was pointing at, and as I looked down, a light shone on to the rocks where there was a sign that read, ‘Marry Me?’. I then turned back around to see that Bhavesh had got down on one knee! He told me that he wanted to spend the rest of his life and more with me

We went back to our table where we finished off our champagne, when Bhavesh told me he had another surprise for me! What could possibly be better than this? I thought he may have booked us in for a spa day or he would take me shopping… No. He had booked us both in for a skydive! Fancy being proposed to and then kicked out of a helicopter at 12000 ft... romantic at first, daringly devilish to end.
ALL I EVER WANTED AND MORE…
The wedding planning begun almost immediately after we had returned back to the UK. I had always dreamt of an outdoors wedding, with beautiful scenery and romance. I already knew that this would be the theme throughout. We decided to marry in Spain as we both travelled there often. Spain has always been a destination close to home and close to my heart... the ambience, the people, the laidback attitude, the weather and climate.... we had to get married in Spain!

All were outdoors, the weather was amazing and all this infused with the surroundings and the ‘buzz’ our guests came with made it truly the best wedding, I myself, had ever been to, and I still can’t believe that it was my own. I knew I wanted a traditional Hindu wedding with a twist of vintage and regal attire. Dianna from Party People and the team at Beau Rivaaaj ensured that the setting was just that and the planning was impeccable. The mandap was decorated with beautiful fabrics and hanging ornaments. It looked exquisite with traditional but subtle colours. The large pillars surrounding the amphitheatre were draped with beautiful images of Lord Ganesh. For the blessing ceremony, Dianna had stripped away the colours and left a beautiful plain white chuppah that was complemented by the surroundings of the Roman Stone amphitheatre. The ivory and soft pink flowers paired with our outfits made a perfect combination against the sunlight and the greenery.

The Power
of Love The magnificent Villa Padierna set the scene for Jan and Linn’s family orientated wedding A Family Affair My husband and I first met at a dinner party and we both knew that we would be together forever, almost instantly. Eight months later, on the 08.08.08, we got engaged in our house in Oslo. Placed horizontally, the figure eight represents eternity, the philosophy behind the proposal date and our commitment to our marriage. After the proposal we were lucky enough to have two beautiful baby boys that we were delighted to include in our wedding celebration, together with my husband’s two girls, as we wanted our wedding to be a special family affair. Let the Sun Shine Spain is our favourite place and we had already shared many wonderful family memories in beautiful Andalucia. Right from the start we both knew that we wanted an outdoor ceremony in Southern Spain, where we could show our closest friends and family the good life in Andalucia and they could enjoy good food, wine, flowers and, most importantly (coming from Norway) the sun. Our wedding was set for the 29th of September, the date having been chosen because autumn is our favourite season in Andalucia. We had, however, not scheduled for the heaviest rain in Southern Spain in September for ages. Nevertheless, the weather unexpectedly changed for the better during the important hours of our outdoor wedding ceremony, although if the old saying about counting happiness by the raindrops in the bride’s veil has any basis in reality we should have no serious worries for some time. 74 CONFETI
We chose Villa Padierna as the venue for the wedding celebration because of its Romanesque grandeur. The amphitheatre as the setting for our ceremony was breathtaking, and the views from the hotel terrace stunning. As the surroundings of Villa Padierna are so majestically beautiful we didn’t have to add a lot of wedding décor, other than flowers in the amphitheatre where the ceremony was held, and on the tables. The expertise and professionalism of the staff at Villa Padierna made the our wedding ceremony just as
beautiful as we hoped it would be – even though they had to dry the amphitheatre before starting the decorating process. Two Becomes One The ceremony itself was everything we had hoped for. The atmosphere was enhanced by a string quartet in the amphitheatre playing ‘Salut d’Amour’, the perfect way to start our celebration. We wrote the manuscript for the ceremony together with our wonderful priest Mary Maye, and to see tears in her eyes when I came
to the altar added piquancy to the ceremony. One of our favourite singers, Jennifer Phillips, maintained that special atmosphere by her performance of ‘You’re by my side that’s how I see us’ – a song from the 1960s that she rehearsed especially for our wedding. We wanted to involve family members so our two mothers lit candles representing the two families that are to be united, and my husband’s eldest daughter read a beautiful poem. We had also included the wedding rings of
grandparents that are not longer with us, their exceptionally happy marriages serving as inspiration for our own. Frocked Up My wedding dress was a Suzanne Neville design, which I had to go to England to find. I saw it in a British wedding magazine and instantly knew that this was the one. This was only confirmed when I
tried it on in the boutique in a lovely town called Tunbridge Wells. My wedding bouquet was a brooch bouquet, the brooches collected from various second-hand shops and markets and embellished with white silk flowers. Such a bouquet is not usual in Norway, but in countries where they are more commonly employed the tradition is to give the brooches separately to

Following the sit-down meal, our guests were entertained by the incredibly talented Jennifer Phillips and Paul Maxwell, the pianist. Favourite Moments An obvious favourite was walking down the aisle with my father and my oldest son, both of whom were hanging on to my wedding dress. Also, the duet ‘Always’ between Paul Maxwell and my husband’s oldest daughter, Tine, performed as the bride and groom’s first dance was a truly special moment for us. However, on a day like this, there are many very special moments, and we are very thankful to the talented Nani De Perez that so many of these have been captured in her stunning photos. We often look at our wedding album and treasure our wedding as a very special day in our lives. If I had to do it again, I would change… If I were to change anything I probably would have made the planning somewhat easier for myself, for instance by not having
family members as a gift; our wedding rings were made to our own design by a jeweller in Estepona. Exceeded Expectations The dining area at the hotel was impressive and we had only to add flower and candle decorations for the tables. Our guests enjoyed a five-course Mediterranean meal, followed by wedding cake. With the reputation of Villa Padierna we had high expectations, but still the kitchen, sommelier and staff impressed us with their excellent service during our seven-hour dinner. 76 CONFETI
As for our wedding cake, we chose a traditional cake with a porcelain cake topper, as we wanted as many of our wedding keepsakes potentially to be used in future family weddings. As an old British tradition, we also gave our guests a piece of wedding cake in a box on their way home. This was a reference to the old wives’ tale that if you sleep with a piece of wedding cake underneath your pillow you will dream of your true love.

to wait for ceremony programmes from the US, wedding dress from the UK, wedding bouquet from the UK, cake boxes from Germany etc. But in the end every minute of the planning turned out to be more than worth it when it all came together. Need to Know Tip Enjoy every minute because before you know it, your perfect day is over. Also, be as prepared as possible for your big day – this will probably make it easier to appreciate all of the emotions and memories your wedding day will represent. CONFETI 77

Love is the key Olivia and Paul tied the knot in a whimsical Spanish setting
Childhood Sweethearts
Paul and I have been going out since we were 17 but didn’t get engaged until May 2012. Paul proposed to me in the city of bright lights – New York. It was a moment I will never forget.
That Special Something
We always dreamed of getting married abroad. Having holidayed in Marbella several times we knew it was easily accessible, plus it would be a great holiday destination for any of our guests who wanted to stay on a bit longer. We viewed many of the Coast’s big hotels but for us these venues, although spectacular, lacked that special, intimate feel. As soon as we saw Cortijo de los Caballos online, we instantly fell in love with it. Paul and I flew over to see the place and we loved it even more. It was exactly what we wanted – a special haven that would provide a relaxed atmosphere as well as being able to offer accommodation for our wedding party. 78 CONFETI
Sheer Simplicity
In terms of the dress, I wanted something very simple and elegant so I chose a fitted lace dress from a Spanish bridal label, San Patrick. Simplicity was also key to the look of my five bridesmaids who wore one shoulder XXX? in a delicate shade of blush pink. The flowers and décor at our wedding were again very simple but with a vintage
twist; our planner from Rachel Rose Weddings was amazing and seemed to know exactly what we wanted from the very start.
A Decadent Feast
Food was a very important part of the day for us and we had been nervous in the lead up to the wedding because we wanted

it to be just right. It turned out we had been worrying unnecessarily because all of the dishes were delicious and perfectly executed by Sana Catering. We opted for a Cajun Chicken Salad as a starter, guests then could choose between Fillet of Beef or Salmon and the meal finished with a Chocolate Tart. Sweet Things by Fi took care of our wedding cake and it was a beautifully baked and decorated confection, just right for the day. Paul and I had been for a tasting beforehand, and found it very difficult to choose our favourite flavours, because they were all so scrumptious. We eventually settled on a three-tier cake of lemon and chocolate with lace detailing (to match my dress) and pale pink roses as decoration. Following the meal, the Maia Project provided some music. They had a very chilled vibe, which perfectly matched the general atmosphere of our day.
Snap Happy
We didn’t meet Owen Farrell our wedding photographer until the day of the wedding but everyone in Marbella spoke so highly of him, I knew we were in safe hands.
Throughout the day Owen was totally professional and got down to business straight away - we barely even noticed he was there. At the church he knew exactly the shots he wanted to take and worked quickly so our guests did not have to hang around too long in the heat. Owen was extremely friendly and all of our guests commented on how professional and approachable he was - in fact, some of our friends have looked into booking him for their own weddings, which says it all.
Unforgettable
Our favourite moment of the entire celebration has to be the exchanging of the vows; it was quite emotional and such a special part of the day since Paul’s uncle conducted the service.
My Tip for Brides to be…
If I were to get married again I wouldn’t change a thing, everything went so smoothly and turned out better than we could have ever dreamed. The best advice I could give to anyone else getting married in Spain is to research your wedding planner. Both Paul and I loved Rose
Wedding’s style and we really had very little to do in organisational terms, as the team seemed to know exactly what we wanted. An efficient wedding planner can take away any worries and strains you have, especially if you are getting married abroad. All the companies and people that she recommended, such as Owen Farrell, were fantastic and true professionals. CONFETI 79

Fairway to Heaven Professional golfer, Tom Coulson married his wife Emma in a dreamy, fairytale wedding
Instant Attraction
Tom and I met seven years ago on a night out in Brighton; it was love at first sight. We were both living in Brighton at the time, Tom making a living as a professional golfer while I worked as cabin crew out of Gatwick and that is where our fairy-tale began. We moved to Marbella two years ago for Tom to pursue his golfing career and have never looked back. After a couple of years living happily in the Spanish sunshine, we decided that we wanted to be husband and wife so, six months in advance of the big day, we started planning. Tom surprised me with a white gold two-carat diamond solitaire ring with matching one-carat half eternity wedding band, while Tom’s ring was a plain band with a titanium rope incorporated into the design to symbolize being tied together for life.
Back to Blighty
80 CONFETI
We decided to get married in Tom’s home county of Sussex as we have such a close, loving family and Tom’s grandparents are elderly so the trip to Spain would be too much for them. We just couldn’t imagine get marrying without them being there, so it was back to the UK for the wedding of our dreams.
I chose not to use a wedding planner, doing all the organising myself instead with the help of both of our mums. I wanted a theme of dreamy whimsical glamour so I kept this in mind when I dressed our beautiful ceremony room and the ballroom where we had our wedding breakfast. I have had an idea of what I would like my wedding dress to look like ever since I was a little girl and attended my first wedding. I was very lucky in that my mum told me I had an unlimited budget to choose the dress of my dreams. She was just as excited as me to be going around all the bridal shops looking at dresses!
Dress to Impress
I wanted a Spanish style lace veil and fell in love with a cathedral length Pronovias design; I also had hundreds of Swarovski crystals especially added to the veil, which made it twinkle in the candlelight. My tiara was a Swarovski replica of the one worn by Kate Middleton at her wedding. I chose a stunning ivory silk lace wedding dress by Essence of Australia; as soon as I put it on, I just knew it was the one and it also matched my veil perfectly. The dress featured beaded lace embellishments and Swarovski crystals on the sweetheart bodice as well
Address Book Dress: essensedesigns.com Veil: pronovias.co.uk Shoes: benjaminadamslondon.com as a Swarovski belt and lace hem finished with a wide scallop edge. Since we got married in March, I had an ivory Marabou feather shrug in case it got cold, although I didn’t use this in the end as it was a beautiful sunny day. I wore Swarovski encrusted shoes by Benjamin Adams, a new London designer. My bouquet was ivory and antique blush pink avalanche roses mixed with blush coloured ranunculus which smelled amazing.
For all our guests, we decided on a black tie dress code - all the men looked as handsome as James Bond, especially the groom!
Stunning in Silver
I decided on a colour scheme of ivory and silver, which came alive in combination with the ivory silk tulle curtains with fairy lights we hung to hide the ballroom curtains. We used pink uplighters all around the room to create a dreamy atmosphere; it looked amazing. The venue was Buxted Park in East Sussex. I would recommend it as a wedding venue to anyone: the décor is modern luxurious opulence and the colour schemes at the hotel are pewter, silver and black so it worked perfectly with my wedding décor colour scheme.
The Details
Our wedding photographer was a close family friend and famous sports photographer for Getty Images, David Cannon. We were honoured that he agreed to be our photographer on the day, especially as he is so busy travelling all over the world. For food, we decided on a traditional four-course menu with all produce sourced locally in Sussex. Our wedding cake was lemon sponge with a tangy lemon curd covered in ivory icing and
decorated with a diamante ribbon. The cake was topped with a golfer groom (with golf clubs) in china and bride with ‘No. 1 Fan’ banner. We chose a live band who sang an acoustic selection of our favourite songs, followed by a disco. In the bar area, we set up a full-size casino roulette table manned by a specialist croupier who gave out fake money. As wedding favours, ladies were given ivory lace Spanish fans and the guys received special Cuban cigars.

The Perfect Moment
Emma: I loved getting ready with my mum and bridesmaids; I will always remember how magical it felt putting my dress on for the first time once my hair and make was all finished. Another highlight of the day was walking down the aisle towards Tom, which is now all I can remember from the ceremony and officially becoming ‘Mrs Coulson’. Tom: Emma walking up the aisle to me has to be my favourite moment and being able to call Emma my wife for the first time. Also being around friends and family who we do not see all the time, the casino and our first dance were all special moments. CONFETI 81

Al Fresco Romance I met Ken through my sister as she was dating his best friend, so all four of us used to hang out all the time. Initially Ken and I were just friends, but it didn’t take long for us to realise we were made for each other! Six years later we were camping in our hometown of Yamba, Australia and one evening, whilst lying under the stars, he popped the question. I was so excited I started to cry - it was magical. Love on the Rock Ever since Ken and I went travelling around the South of Spain we knew this was where we wanted to get married. We came across Gibraltar whilst researching locations and instantly fell in love. When Monica, our wedding planner, showed us the Caleta Palace Hotel it took my breath away. The views are simply incredible and its position right on the beach couldn’t have been more perfect. I knew this was the setting I wanted to make memories in. 82 CONFETI
Ken and Christine travelled from down under to tie the knot on the Rock of Gibraltar.
A Vision in White When I started the search for my wedding dress I remembered some of the beautiful designs I’d seen when travelling around Budapest. So I took the opportunity to make a trip out of it and hopped on a plane to find my dream dress. After hours of searching in shop after shop I finally spotted one. It was perfect; pure white with a corset style design at the back, fitted to the waist, then the skirt was very full and layered. I felt like a princess and couldn’t wait to walk down the aisle in it. Come Fly With Me We knew the decision to marry in Europe would mean a small wedding, consisting of our closest friends and family. We had 30 guests who flew over from Australia for the big day and each and every one of them were very special to us. I wouldn’t have had it any other way as I got to spend time with each of my guests and share the
experience with the people who mean the most to me. Something Blue Our colours on the day were pink and blue, I love these two colours together and it was quite girly, which is exactly me. We had pink rose petals scattered down the aisle and pink and blue pomanders in seaside style buckets. At the ceremony each guest received a little bag filled with blue and pink sugar coated almonds. My bouquet consisted of pale pink and white roses, which I absolutely loved - I carried it with me on our honeymoon and for weeks after!

One of my favourite memories is of the decoration on the tables. We had sandcastle centrepieces with shells around
them, little pink buckets and spades, plus miniature white deckchairs as place-card holders. Our cake comprised lots of cupcakes covered in seashells and seahorses in pink and blue. Teamed with the stunning beach setting at the Caleta Hotel and the sea views it was perfect.
Dance The Night Away I wanted something different for the ceremony so we hired an amazing band called Sticky and the Poor Boy - also known as Mark Alexander. They played Hey There Delilah, Big Jet Plane and, when I walked down the aisle, they played Angus and Julia Stone, the wedding song. They learned this song especially for us and absolutely perfected it on the day. Our DJ for the reception was John Howard who did a fantastic job. Turning back the Clock If we had to do it again Ken says he would wear a lighter suit because it was such a beautiful hot day! I personally wouldn’t change anything it was just perfect and all because Monica put so much effort into making it how we dreamed it would be. She really was our Wedding Angel. Words of Wisdom My advice for all people planning to marry in Gibraltar is to hire a wedding planner! Although you might think it’s easy to organise everything yourself, when it comes to the big day there’s nothing better than having someone there to take control. Monica was an absolute star and knew exactly what we wanted and the Caleta was the icing on the cake as they went the extra mile for us. My last piece of advice is to relax and enjoy it as, before you know it, it’s all over!

very year, hundreds of couples from around the world follow in the footsteps of John Lennon, Sir Sean Connery and Laurence Harvey by getting married on the Rock of Gibraltar. Unlike Spain, local marriage law does not include any residential requirements and a Gibraltar marriage is recognised worldwide. This, combined with its superb climate, makes Gibraltar a fantastic location to tie the knot. However, it is not only the favourable marriage laws that draw couples to wed in Gibraltar. This unique location is equally renowned for being a site of natural beauty, most notably so on the East Side, where you will find Catalan Bay. This half-moon bay is far removed from the hustle and bustle of Gibraltar’s Main Street. Characterised by a hotchpotch of colourful houses that are offset by the dramatic backdrop of the Rock, it is not dissimilar to the profile of Italy’s Amalfi coast. If you are planning a wedding in Gibraltar, this is arguably one of the most desirable locations. It is not surprising therefore, that it is home to one of Gibraltar’s best hotels, The Caleta. wedding destinations, welcoming everything from small family gatherings to large receptions. The hotel has been thoughtfully designed to offer an irresistible mix of Mediterranean charm and contemporary style. Here, guests can enjoy an impeccable personal service in elegant surroundings, with panoramic views of the Rock and onwards to the coastlines of Southern Spain and Morocco. Many couples choose to make these vistas the backdrop to their ceremony, as the hotel is legally authorised to hold marriages within the grounds. The Caleta boasts a number of private function rooms, restaurants and outdoor spaces that can be tailored to suit the individual needs of the bridal couple. From a beautiful terrace overlooking the sea to a superb banqueting hall that can accommodate up to 400 guests, the hotel has options to suit all. Furthermore, couples can draw on the years of experience that Marjo Granat, the hotel’s banqueting coordinator, is on hand to offer. Marjo helps couples explore all options for their wedding, to ensure that it is not only one to remember but one that truly reflects their individual taste. This ethos is continued in the hotel’s culinary choices. From
canapés to petit fours, the restaurant team are available to help the bridal couple create a menu that is a fusion of their taste and fresh regional produce. The hotel is renowned for its cuisine, being the first and only hotel in Gibraltar to date to be awarded a two rosette culinary award from the AA in 2006, which they have maintained every year since. As such, wedding guests can feast on delights from head chefs Jan Wondres and Danny Marquez’s signature eight-course ‘Menu Degustation’, accompanied by a specially selected wine for each course. Or, if couples seek a simpler affair, their guests can enjoy delicious classics such as Prawn Cocktail, Stuffed Chicken Breast and Tiramisu. On the fifth floor of the hotel sits the magnificent Bridal Suite which benefits from the same renowned views that attract so many to this unique location. Here, the bridal party can enjoy being pampered with treatments such as facials, microdermabrasion, micro lifting, manicures, pedicures, and massages by the hotel’s highly qualified health and beauty technicians. The beauty team is also on call on the wedding day, offering bridal hair and make-up, which can be discussed during a pre-wedding consultation with the team’s stylist. From its exquisite location to its faultless service, The Caleta Hotel has an untarnished reputation for weddings. Each couple that passes through the hotel’s welcoming doors leaves with happy memories instilled by their tremendous team and their ‘anything is possible’ attitude. We can’t think of a better place to tie the knot on the Rock. caletahotel.com CONFETI 85

Chick lit author, Cecelia Ahern once wrote that “life is kind of like a painting” and this statement was never truer than when used to describe your wedding day. With so much thought invested into choosing every shade of colour and every last flower, weddings are like an explosion of artistic beauty. The location of your wedding provides the backdrop of the painting, so choose the setting carefully. Opting for a venue with a majestic backdrop gives your guests a real feast for the eyes and provides extra impact for the all-important photographs of your day.
