The Robert Merry Award for Excellence in Performing Arts

Sabrina Chin

Sabrina has displayed interest and enthusiasm for Performing Arts throughout her time at Kingsmead. Outside of school Sabrina is a keen dancer taking regular classes at a local school. She is incredibly hard working and has significantly improved and refined her performance skills. Throughout school Sabrina has performed in many music concerts and drama showcases as a soloist. She has starred in a number of school productions most recently playing the role of ‘Juliet’ in the well-known play ‘Romeo and Juliet’ by William Shakespeare and this year taking on the role of ‘Serena’ in the musical ‘Fame’ to be performed in February next year. Her dedication is a real credit to her; Sabrina is always bright, cheerful and helpful during lessons and rehearsals. Last year she gained an A* for GCSE Drama and A for GCSE Music, which she fully deserved and all her hard work paid off. Also, last year she took her LAMDA Acting exam at Grade 6 and is studying this year for her Grade 7. She now embarks on taking her performance skills to the next level studying for BTEC Level 3 Performing Arts and BTEC Level 3 Music in 6th Form. Sabrina is keen to study Performing Arts at university level, and we wish her every success in her future projects and look forward to the many more performances Sabrina will be involved in over the next two years.
