Solar Scientists: Harnessing the Power of the Sun

Ever wonder why the bath bombs Fizz? Why some lotions seem greasy while the others are absorbed easily? Come learn all about the science behind the lotions and bath bombs while creating awesome bath products and indulging in your very own spa experience. Lots of science while having FUN!

In this STEAM based camp, you will learn about the power of the sun and how to harness it to make things go. From making solar powered rovers out of Soda Cans to creating your own water heaters, this science and engineering camp teaches campers important criticalthinking and problem-solving skills.

Create projects to help you become the top secret spy you have always wanted to be. From lie detectors, motion detectors and even Invisible ink that lets you pass messages undetected this spy camp is fun and interactive and introduces campers to Engineering and deductive reasoning

Learn about the gross things! Campers will learn how diseases are spread and the importance of preventing the spreading of diseases. Try to identify the various parts of the digestive system and explain their functions.
Get your lightsabers ready we're training new Idea Lab Jedis! Being a jedi is more than fun, it's science also! Learn how Jedis fuel and maintain their bodies. Do some fun and exciting Jedi experiments. This camp is great for the little Jedi in your life.
Medical Science: Future Doctors
k-2
Little Doctors work on learning about what makes our body work. From learning about digestive systems and building working models of our lungs while studying the respiration process, our Little Doctors are engaged in learning throughout. We learn about casts, sutures and more, and we end the class with a clinic to showcase our talents. One of the most popular camps each year with a fantastic turnout as young campers explore the beginning stages of becoming a doctor. Starting with science exploration and experiments, as well as creative play, the campers enter the world of medicine. Don't have your doctor's bag with you? Don't worry- you will after completing this camp. Campers will proudly carry a doctor’s bag filled with all the necessary tools, as well as a graduation certificate as a graduate of Idea Lab Medical School.

3D Printing: Global Architecture

Campers will learn about a wide variety of famous structures from around the world, learn about their original purpose, and recreate them using a digital modeling program. Campers may choose one or two of these models to print out from a 3D printer.
Engineering and Coding with Minecraft

Using Minecraft and Learn to Mod, students will design and create their own Minecraft world and then modify it to their heart’s content. Along way, they will learn basic engineering principles, and computer coding/programming techniques.
LEGO Robotics: Stomp and Chomp
1-4
IDEA Lab Robotics provides fun, hands-on projects to get your child’s creative juices flowing. Working with a Robotics teacher, campers will participate in team challenges and learn how to build robots using various LEGO programming tools- all while making friends, developing new skills and having a great time with STEAM.
Design, Print, Play with 3D Printers

Do you love minecraft? Enjoy Minecraft and LEGOs in this fun and creative camp! We will explore both online and offline activities as we use our favourite building tools, LEGOs, to create the Minecraft world, and then play the game online inside the actual Minecraft environment.
Build your own Robot with Microcontrollers
5-8
Get familiar with microcontrollers, learn the basics of using electronic components and building your first robot with microcontrollers. This camp is a hands on experience with microcontrollers, motors, sensors, wires, the “nuts and bolts” (pun intended) of real robotics. Utilizing off the shelf “real world” hardware and software, campers will gain valuable robotics skills enabling them to either continue exploration at home or explore new areas of electronics, fun and learning. Once the basics of programming their first microcontroller powered robot is understood, the sky’s the limit to what they can do with these fabulous marvels of technology.

Have you ever wanted to start your own cooking channel on YouTube? How about a fashion show? Technology? A YouTube show on Pokemon? The possibilities are endless. We will be using our imagination and technical skills to write, shoot and edit our programming so that we can post it for the world to see. Learning about how YouTube and trending content will help us gain more views!
Minecraft Modding is a great way to teach an introduction to computer programming and Java Coding. Using an intricate system, intertwined with Minecraft, campers will modify their games in ways they could have never imagined. Star Wars skins and developing our own mini-games will be just a portion of what we do!

Learning to code with Idea Lab is engaging and fun even at a young age. Kids rapidly learn fundamental programming concepts as they drag and drop their way to writing actual code. Campers work with the easy to learn programming via the Scratch drag-and-drop programming environment and work with sprites to develop working code snippets.

Coding and Programming: Java
This innovative course teach computer programming skills through interactive and exciting projects. These fun classes are perfect for students who have great imaginations, like figuring out how things work or simply love technology. In Coding and Programming with Java, students will have a blast creating video games, animated stories and bringing their imaginations to life. You don’t even have to mention all the cool skills he or she is learning along the way: basic coding and programming, problem solving, logic, physics and more.

With mobile app designing, you are in charge of the look and feel ofyour app. In this camp, campers will learn the basics of designingtheir own mobile app. After completing this camp they will have thebasic knowledge of what the best ways are to design your own app,whether it be a game or an interactive learning app. Campers will be also be able to download and share their app.

In this Intro to Robotics camp, we will be using our engineering focus to guide us. Using the latest Lego Robotics Technologies, Mindstorm EV3s, campers will be challenged with intricate builds via instructions, make creative builds using their imagination and program their robots all along the way. There will be competitions to test our skills, and in the end we will all become robotics masters.
