Following from the release of ARMA® in 2018, Marley is proud to be first to market again with the introduction of a complementary cable duct range – CALIBRE™

Cable Duct Systems.

Manufactured specifically for electrical distribution networks, CALIBRE™ is the amalgamation of the Marley PVC Cable Duct segment (700 Power and TC Comms series) and the Marley PE Cable Duct segment (COMD series) and redefines how underground cable ducting and fittings perform.

Marley will be the first in the New Zealand Electrical Cable Management industry to bring a unified approach for cable ducting (PVC & PE) applications. More than just a branding exercise, CALIBRE™ will be redefining the mechanical performance of cable ducting for the NZ market. First with ARMA® in 2018 and now with CALIBRE™, both systems are now manufactured to the same electrical performance-based standard AS/ NZS 61386, delivering a simplified pathway across product selection, installation, and compliance.

When considering the development of cable ducting in general, opportunities have been few and far. With AS/NZS 61386 becoming the default electrical manufacturing standard, this is a long awaited first step where this performancebased philosophy will open up innovation opportunities. The introduction of CALIBRE™ and the implementation of AS/NZS 61386 is Marley’s contribution for the electrical utilities sector as a first step towards fostering ongoing development. This is particularly so for PE cable ducting where conformance has been to the less relevant pressure standard AS/NZS 4130.

Segmented for TRENCH and TRENCHLESS excavations for ease of selection, CALIBRE™ cable ducting has all the necessary credentials to achieve asset owner specification, contractor, and branch needs. In essence, CALIBRE™ is fully featured for long term durability, cost effective underground installation, and has all the necessary certificates and licenses to substantiate quality. With regards to quality, Bureau Veritas provides independent third-party verification of compliance in the manufacture of CALIBRE™ Cable Duct Systems - providing confidence and consistency for quality is achieved every time.
