IDEALS CREATIVES OPERATIONAL HIGHLIGHTS
09 1
THEME: ALPHA THE BEGINNING’S ALWAYS A GOOD PLACE TO START.
In our last episode, our protagonists discovered the innate ability they shared with everyone to make the world a better place, and decided to let the world know about all the other inspiring superheroes who rallied together, putting in their time, resources and abilities to saving the environment, improving healthcare, educating youth and providing livelihood opportunities, among the multitude of initiatives these numerous superheroes endeavored. These are the superheroes that need to be heard, our five protagonists decided. So off they went, searching far and wide, for the powers that would make these inspiring initiatives known to the world. They ventured into the fiery realm of words, where vowels spewed from wordpools, and consonants
were devoured by the participles that dangled like faux stalactites from the glowing cavern walls. They reached into the heart of the cave, and smashed the glowing block that rested on the embers. The Writer’s Block was no more. The gurgling wordpools momentarily silenced, then burst forth with words full of hope, that streamed from the once-fiery realm, now cascading streams and infusing rivers and seas of despair with its words of encouragement. Our five protagonists then forayed beneath the jungle canopy to retrieve the Emerald Lens that captured images. Traversing ravines and hitching rides on the lovable twin behemoths of Passion and Dedication, they reached the tallest tree in the jungle and spied the glinting Emerald, nestled among the top branches. Bronks, their pet monkey, swung from branch to branch, to retrieve the Emerald lens. They now had the tool of capturing the compelling images that magnified the power of words.

Diving deep into the seas, they searched for the Trident of Technology. The glowing city of Ysei beckoned. Marching into the city, they went straight to the Keeper of the Trident, Sunit. Sunit’s intimidating stature didn’t deter our five protagonists, and as he spied into their hearts, he learned that their intentions were pure. He relinquished the Trident, with instruction to the team to share their knowledge, and use the Trident for the greater good. Quite exhausted, the team surfaced from the sea, and lay in the sun. As they rested, they noticed a joyful yellow sunray, dancing from leaf, to leaf, from rock to rock, animating everything it touched, and bringing it to life. They thought that being able to use this sunray’s spirit of movement would be able to complement the Emerald Lens’ images, and the words released by the destroyed Writer’s Block. They asked the sunray to share its spirit, and the sunray laughed and shone its light on the Emerald Lens and a shard from the Writer’s Block. A swirling vapor formed, and crystallized into the Prism of Moving Images. Thanking the sunray, our protagonists were almost done. They had the Red Shard from the shattered
Writer’s Block, the Emerald Lens of Capturing Images, the blue Trident of Technology, and the yellow Prism of Moving Images.
BUT ONE THING WAS MISSING.
They placed the objects in the middle of the five of them and cast their intentions of inspiration and hope to the world. The tangible Heart of the superheroes they wished to help rose, connected by a web that had strewn itself all over the globe, powered by the visions of a better world shared by the superheroes. The Heart glowed pink, and swelled to encompass them all. A rainbow stream of light emerged, and momentarily blinded the five. The light solidified, and the powers of the objects collected combined to form a powerful tool to champion the causes of superheroes around the world.
THE RAINBOW ROBOT WAS BORN.

THEIR MISSION WAS COMPLETE. THEY HAD THEIR TOOLS. NOW THEIR WORK HAS BEGUN.

FEBRUARY ONETAMA LAUNCH
The Philippines’ 25th anniversary of The People Power Revolution was marked in 2009 by another revolution. One powered by simple actions that came from ordinary folk like you and me. Duyan ng Giting, a youth-led organization that aims to promote nationalism among young Filipinos came to Ideals with an idea, which grew into a full-blown campaign called One Tama (www.onetama.com). The campaign has since created waves in cyberspace, and in mainstream media, with Duyan ng Giting leading the way.
MAY ENTER THE TIGER’S LAIR
APRIL-MAY INTERNS 2008: PAENG AND GINNY
Ideals was represented at the Global Knowledge Partnership Forum on Social Entrepreneurship in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Four bold young social entrepreneurs were invited to present their initiatives to a scrutinizing panel in an event called “Enter the Tiger’s Lair”. Ideals, represented by Yellow Four Yelle, presented alongside Raj Ridvan Singh of SOLS 24/7 – Malaysia, Urjana Shrestha of Fair Trade – Nepal and Jamil Goheer of Cultural Classics – Pakistan.
Our dynamic duo for 2008 was Rafael “Paeng” Schlobohm and Regine Marie “Ginny” Palma, AB Communication Arts students of De La Salle University in Canlubang. The two were an amazing help in the office, and critical support in the launching of the first Pecha Kucha Night in Manila.
APRIL-MAY INTERNS 2009: CHINO AND KAT Allen Pachino “Chino” Testado of the University of the Philippines, and Karen Kathleen “Kat” Alday of the University of Asia and the Pacific were our saviors for the summer of 2009. They designed for some of our projects, and helped us prepare impact measurements for the One Tama campaign.
JUNE DEVELOPMENT OF ONELINE The much-awaited Oneline.ph broke ground with the discovery of Mikong “The One” Galero, and Tim “The Team (pronounced The Tim)” Medina. Programmers extraordinaire who shared our vision, and worked with us for several months leading to the online platform’s launch the following year.

CLIENTS/PROJECTS Meet some of the superheroes we’ve had the privilege of meeting, as well as the projects we’ve collaborated on.
When we in Duyan ng Giting approached Ideals with the seed of the idea for what is now the One Tama Campaign, not only did we not have a complete inkling of the inspiring adventure that was about to unfold, we also did not anticipate how lucky we were to have the opportunity to work with the coolest young creative professionals, who truly had a heart for this country. From the beginning, Ideals embraced the essence of One Tama, and they were centrally instrumental in breathing life into the campaign as it is now. Truth be told, One Tama and what is has accomplished so far from getting covered in the major dailys to forging partnerships with key developmental organizations and wellknown companies in the name of action for the country - is as much the legacy of Idea!s as it is ours. We suppose thats the Idea!s brand: working with them is not about getting a job done, its about believing in and building something together.
BOYET DY, DUYAN NG GITING (ONE TAMA)
I worked with Ideals on the design for my website and business card. First of all, the concept behind Ideals is brilliant. Every element of implementing an idea takes time, energy, money‌ Dan, and the crew at Ideals makes this process fun, engaging and most importantly, accessible. His ideas and art and his willingness to work with me on even the tiniest of details made the design aspect of my passion far less daunting, and really exciting. Ideals is great! I am all about it. Dream, create, design, innovate! Yay for Ideals! Thanks for being so accommodating and creative. seriously.
