When it comes to the details, it’s all about finding ways for your loved ones to connect to with your love story, while having the best time celebrating it! From the “Give Me Your Forever” sign (a quote from the bride’s favorite song) to the luggage tag escort cards
and every colorful detail in between, this couple collaboratively breathed DIY life into their wedding, with the help of trusted planner Shannon Leahy! The result was this sensational and inexpensive collection of handmade signs, antique teacups, innovative flower displays and a parade of vintage furniture to create the wedding fantasy of the bride’s dreams!

“My inspiration behind the design was ‘collective.’ I have never been a fan of defining color palettes, so I started out with the elements I love and worked backward.” Allison and Ian, along with the help of their familes and Shannon, worked together to this vision of vintage romance. Rob and Holly’s story begins near Camarillo Ranch at the St. Mary Magdalen Chapel. Many couples prefer to exchange vows under the canopy of a beautiful church, and this local icon is reminiscent of the missions sprinkled along the California Coast. As the bell tower announces your union, don’t forget to depart in style. Glamorous was the word that
inspired this breathtaking design by the bride and the ladies at La Fete Weddings.
“We developed a color theme of taupe, soft blush pink, and pale blue, that would work with the historic Camarillo Ranch Barn, and they fell in love with it! We discussed the lighting and draping we felt would be appropriate to create a warm and beautiful atmosphere...it took everyone’s breath away.” From the over-the-top chandeliers to the intricate designs on the flatware, no detail was too small. A great lesson that taking risks in creating a design to will stand the test of time pays off.
“Opulence” was the name of the game at this wedding. Everything lit up, making sure that every last detail was showcased and appreciated. Remember that lighting really is everything, and the optimum lighting paired with this design made it all that much brighter! A delightful way to display desserts is to set them on vintage furniture. Go to your local antique shop to look for unique items. Paint them to match your colors, or let the “vintage” look speak for itself, like the clever use of a bed frame that holds escort cards! The bride, Rita, incorporated her love for reading by displaying her vintage book collection within the theme. Stacked vintage suitcases create layers and height differentiation, which is an important thing to consider throughout your design. Touches of light blue and sea green accented the soft neutral shades, while glowing paper lanterns added depth and ambiance to the reception at sunset! The bride’s harmonious bouquet showcased a softer color palette to the other flower arrangements, making them stand out from the rest.

Strawberry Farms has a stunning large garden adjacent to the Barn and Terrace Veranda. This bride’s design nods to the more traditional, recreating a scene from a romantic novel. The garden is lined with white wooden chairs, while a simple wedding arch stands tall with striking beauty.

Devon and TJ were able to bring their love for classic rock into the overall theme of their rustic romantic design. How endearing are the simple CD “escort cards” in a vintage ruler box that resembles an old library catalogue? Guests can easily find their names, while the CD’s make great party favors! The CD’s correspond with musical “table numbers,” distinguished with musicians like Led Zeppelin and The Beatles.
A framed “Love Notes” sign encourages messages for the happy couple, collected in a vintage record case. Be inspired by your theme. Always think of creative ways to take necessary elements, like your guest book and escort cards, and display them in unique ways that represent both of your interests and shoot straight into the heart of your theme. Hint at your personal details, fabricating little surprises that keep your guests delighted in discovery and remind them of everything you love!
