IEEE Computer Society Team Places in IEEEXtreme Global Programming Competition LOS ALAMITOS, Calif., 6 December 2013 – An IEEE Computer Society student team from the Institut Teknologi Bandung SB in Indonesia has placed in the Top 10 of the recent IEEEXtreme 7.0 Global Programming Competition. The CJI team members, from Region 10, are Christianto Handojo, Irfan Kamil, and Jordan Fernando. IEEEXtreme 7.0 Global Programming Competition took place 26 October 2013 and recognized some of the world's top up-and-coming programmers. In addition to assisting with the recruitment of judges, IEEE Computer Society sponsored the second-place and third- place prizes and contributed to the regional awards. The grand prize winner was cofrades from Universidad Nacional de Ingenieria of Peru. They will receive an expenses-paid trip to an IEEE conference of their choice, anywhere around the world. IEEEXtreme is a global challenge in which teams of IEEE Student members, supported by an IEEE Student Branch, advised and proctored by an IEEE member, compete in a 24-hour time span against each other to solve a set of programming problems.
