IFLA EU REPORT FOR IFLA Communication Committe Report We have witnessed a major change in communication and public relations. Initial aspirations suggested we would be dealing with three main groups: national association members, collaborative and ‘sister’ association members and independent professionals (to be encouraged to join their respective national association). We proceeded by organizing the Communication and Sponsorship group structure, working together as an editorial board to generate content plus individual personal projects. There are now two structured working groups: Sponsorship (chaired by the EFLA Treasurer) and Communication (chaired by the EFLA Sec. Gen.) Strategic Plan and Action plan for Communication group was set within the Working Group members and assitent delegates during last General Assembly in Siant Peterburg. Last year 2012 we have concentrated our energies basically on: • presentation of an IFLA EU activities LEAFLET • 3rd Edition og the Image Competition • 1st edition of Young Professionals Competition • 2 issues of the IFLA EU Journal • Consolidation of Social networks activity in facebook, linked in, twitter, land and lounge. • IFLA EU NEWSLETTER for calendar and activities (further information can be found on the attache dreport for 2013) The action to be undertaken during this year 2013,other than the overmoentioned and its yearly editions, would be: • IFLA Europe Regional Conference bidding proceadures. • Pecha Kucha workshop strategy for IFLA Europe GA • technical website improvements and virtual archive creation. • Proposal for IFLA EU code of ethics • Young Professionals Competition Publication‐ Yearbook
