2. About IFMSA-Egypt In 1969, IFMSA-Egypt was established by a group of highly motivated, determined and enthusiastic medical students who wanted to establish a Medical Students’ Association - away from all the political issues that were taking place by then - that aims at empowering all the medical students in Egypt. Throughout the years; each generation in IFMSA-Egypt has done its best to serve the expansion & the development of the association, with the vision of seeing IFMSA-Egypt as one of the largest students’ organizations in Egypt. And today, reaping the fruits of what our founders and predecessors sowed; IFMSA-Egypt is working to represent more than 82,000 medical students, of which 2,700 are active members in 23 schools of Medicine present all over Egypt. Our active members are working to empower all the medical students through organising more than 150 local and 20 national projects annually, in addition to handling more than 300 exchanges each year. And when it comes to international events, history has witnessed IFMSA-Egypt’s organizational capacity in AM 1980, the Exchange Meeting in 1996 -later on named March Meeting- AM1998, EMR1, AM 2005, EMR5 and most recently EMR11. In addition, We also managed to organize the 2 SRTs in 2012 and 2013.
