Cairo is waiting for you The IFMSA-Egypt 6th Winter Camp will be held in Giza, a Governorate to the west of the capital. However, for many years, Giza has been absorbed as part of the heavily-populated and sprawling Cairo metropolis, and forms with Cairo, Shubra El Khiema, and Helwan what is known as the Greater Cairo Area. Giza is best known as that part of Cairo closest to the world-famous Pyramids of Giza, situated high on the desert plateau immediately to the west of the urban district, itself located in the valley and centered around the Pyramids Road, linking central Cairo with the ancient wonders. One of the premier attractions of Egypt, if not the world, the Pyramids of Giza represent the archetypal pyramid structures of ancient Egyptian civilization and - together with the Sphinx at the base of the Giza plateau - are the iconic image of Egypt.
the best Paranoiac, Coptic and Islamic sights in Egypt, this city is where you never know what incredible, half-forgotten monument you might stumble across while wandering around.

Theme Event
Research it out The high quality of medical care we enjoy today is built upon years of efforts and hard work done by physicians, PhDs, and other medical professionals investigating the causes of and potential treatments for disease. The tireless efforts of countless medical professionals have made many life-threatening diseases and conditions a faded memory. There is still much work to be done, Insights provided by medical research today promise to lessen the impact of today’s greatest health problems, including diabetes, cancer, and heart disease. As science continues to unveil the molecular workings that underpin disease, we will see profound changes in the approach to treating disease. The pressure to get involved in research at medical school can be huge, and some will wonder what skills they have to offer to a research team as a relatively inexperienced medical student. Yet medical students have made some of the most prestigious scientific breakthroughs. German medical student Paul Langerhans made the identification of the islets of Langerhans, in 1869. Then, in 1922, Charles Best, a Canadian medical student, was part of a team that isolated insulin from the islets of Langerhans, and successfully used it to treat diabetes in both dogs and humans. Unfortunately, the Medical research in Egypt still lags behind, the contribution to medical and scientific research by Egyptian researchers and institutes has been very minimal to the global advancements in science. As a contribution from IFMSA-Egypt towards the solution of such problem, we have adopted a policy for the enhancement of undergraduate medical research in Egypt. This year’s policy is focusing on the capacity building of our members in the field of medical research and epidemiological studies, which serves our mission as believers in the power of students.
