Australian Open Order of Preference It is vital to allow a certain amount of flexibility in Official Emblem usage. Althought there is only one identity, there are a number of different ways of reproducing it: these have been created to allow reproduction across a number of applications and printing constraints. The full colour Tonal option (cmyk) placed on a white background is the preferred option, we however understand this method cannot always be used, so please follow the order of preference indicated. To ensure the Official Emblem is reproduced to best effect and consistently applied, please follow all minimum size guidelines of each version as specified in the guidelines. Please note: All versions of the Official Emblem used on the blue coloured backgrounds can be used on multiple coloured backgrounds, please refer to the corresponding section within the guidelines for further information. We have used the stacked version for this example, same applies to the horizontal versions.

Australian Open Official Emblem Colours

38

There are four colours which make up the Official Emblem: Process Blue, Black, 021Orange and Pantone Yellow. A fifth colour white is used when printing onto coloured backgrounds. Used appropriately and consistently, these colours will enhance the distinctiveness and visual impact of the Official Emblem.

Pantone 021 c25 m0 y100 k0

As indicated in this document the Official Emblem can be reproduced in Pantone colours or cmyk.

Pantone Yellow c0 m0 y10 k70

When applying the Official Emblem to a non-white background, please ensure you reproduce the white areas as shown here.

Black c0 m0 y0 k100

Pantone Process Blue c100 m15 y0 k0

Australian Open Colour Application All of the different versions of the Official Emblem have been designed to accomodate application onto varied coloured backgrounds, to maxmise the potential for merchandise. This example illustrates when the Official Emblem should be used in full colour where possible and when it needs its Reversal Outline. We have used the simlified version for this example, however the same execution needs to be adhered to on all versions. Please note: we cannot show every colour, the colours and tones we have shown are meant to be an indication of tone, when the white text begins to disappear or become illegible please use alternative versions. Please refer to the Order of Preference when selecting Official Emblem type. We have used smaller versions of the Official Emblem for this visual.

Australian Open Brand Guidelines Apparel & Merchandise ŠHeybury Nominees PTY LTD 2007

39

Australian Open Tone-In-Tone Application Tone -In-Tone is the process of reproduction, on apparel (textiles), where the Official Emblem is embroidered in a shade of the respective background fabric colour.

40

White Solid version used

When the Official Emblem is applied in a lighter tone of the background colour, use the White Solid version of the Official Emblem: for darker appearance, the Black Solid version may be used. Please note: The two alternatives can be used on any colour as long as the correct version is used.
